can you list your cameras and also power supply used and what amp. but you also have a problem with the cables ...... they are not coax so this will not help. if you dont want to change cables then i would cut off each BNC and attach a cctv balun

hi. the problem with ebay is everyone wants to sell there equipment. but you have to learn what to look out for. there is no way you will get a budget DVR @ D1 30fps.. so what do you look at in the spec 30fps is the key fps also stands for FIELDS per second. which is the same as IPS and you see this on cheap systems field and images you need 2 to make a frame so your ebay dvr is only 15fps. now thats just the first problem ebay sellers will only tell you the viewing res i.e D1 @ 30fps that is just watching your monitor they dont list the recording res which could be just Cif. the other problem is they never tell you if it is across all channels or just the first. giving you 1 at D1 the rest at Cif ...... so your paying $400 for cheap crap no warranty. all the above and another BIG problem is getting your footage off in a good format. then with some you need software to view (thats stone age)

Hi. bass1176. first is you dont need anything like 30fps max you need is 15fps and you cant see much differance if you go 7fps. you can take the chance with ebay if you you are looking for a very cheap system. but things to look out for are cost of a H/drive (not all have them) then if you dont want support or a place to return it if it only lasts a week if you have a low budget why not go for a used system (brand name) take a look at this site.

MaxIcon. sorry i just have to point a few things out. people on the forum may think they are getting a good NVR for that price. first off like the site says no returns. the other (info from samsung) once the licence has ran out the NVR becomes useless. it is an embeded system to run these as a pc you would also need to buy and load a operating system. come august 2012 all you will have is a Dead NVR with no support.

i think for large installs like hotels cat 5 . as for the genie cameras. by the time the op as ordered them from the uk they will cost him $280 each. the CNB is a much better camera and cheaper.

Hi. it will be the DVR address. but you will have big problems if you change the router. you will stop there network. the router you have is ok. i just think you are looking to hard at the setup. in your router you only need to go into services and click add call it cctv then add the ports then direct them all to your dvr ip .... and that all you need

you will waste your money. you can have gold plated drive fitted if you want. it still will not help. (you need the software ) also look at your unit. No dvd no usb == you cant load software. so you need the RS232 coms connector and that is not cheap. cost for yours well you can buy 2 dauha dvrs (new)

one 64 unit is never a good thing you will not get it to work and be reliable there is only a very few 64 ways on the market use two 32 ways. you may be best looking at a hybrid. this will cut down the amount of cameras you will need (if you have a few in the same area) also look at storage costs as of yesterday sata drives have gone up another 8%. and will be going up again.

if you have to chance to return then i would do that. it could be a number of things the main problem with them is the power supply. they have duel output 12-9 and also 5v all of which must be working. if not its a new power supply and thats £60 to £90, and then you have the problem of software (its on the harddrive) if you fix the power and then find HD is empty then thats another cost

that seams odd. if you ping the dvr ip then change the last few digits then its not the dvr ip. again with routers and remote viewing ... you are best getting everything working first. dont use the PSS just call up the activex first. talk talk (carphonewarehouse) or talk talk tiscale) will block port 80. so you need to alter on both your dvr and router port 80 to port 88. then just use http://your external ip :88 this is away from the dvr network. just input it into your browser and not the software. hold off on changing the router. unless you know the talktalk passwords and settings.
