Exacq EL Mini Issues
tomcctv replied to Megapixelman's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi mega. the EL has a max limit of 10mp in total so your 12mp is just making it work harder -
hi. you should just use 1 pair for data i.e green to r+ and green white to r- (1 wire to each) but i dont think this is your problem. did you buy the camera from system q ??? or from somewere else. you have home sensors on the ptz and it looks like they are not working may be faulty or need resetting
-
1 pair or 2 ??? also disconnect everything and see if it does its setup and then stops. with just being powered. you may have moved a sensor
-
hi. can you list your ptz to look at the spec ??? also when you wired your camera did you use a single pair of cat5 for your data or did you use a pair for R+ R- (many people do this and it can give problems) can you give power used and distance your PTZ is from your dvr. also are you using onboard controls or a desktop controller.

Problems with the SWANN SW242-SR4/AVC-760-EN
tomcctv replied to theprez's topic in Digital Video Recorders
sounds like network fail. you should have no problem with local. how far is your dvr from the network (lenth of patch lead) -
hi CMS is used if you have more than 1 dvr i.e 1 at home 1 at work cms lets you view both together on 1 screen
-
hi jokerone. a static is for your external ip. so no need to do anything else with your dvr if you can connect via your LAN. you may need to do some portforwarding. but to see your system away from your home you need your external IP click here from the same network your dvr is on and you will see your external ip. http://www.whatismyip.com/ then ask a friend to try and log on (in most cases you cant log onto your own WAN) so your external ip would look like http:// your external from link : port once you have got it up and running you might need to use a ddns service if your ip keep changing.

what is a good NVR software
tomcctv replied to lechols155's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. take a close look at hik specs. they are not true hybrids. if you are thinking of using 1mp then your fine. thinking of using above 1mp you are just wasting your money. -
thats a big problem how would the police know 13 were legit ???? dont think a judge will pass a warrant. this is 20 years old ..... even all the stuff about uk is 30 years old. lots have changed since then
-
protect101. £65 for a 4 way dvr from hongkong to the uk P&P free is a waste of £65. no support nothing. and the cameras you have listed cheaper if you buy local and not off ebay. what is your budget ??
-
Thanks for the speedy reply Chris. Anyone know what the rules are in the UK? hi steveo. it depends on what part of the country you are in. and were you are going to install. i.e pub/bar shop / petrol station. there is no limit to home use. but were they say 31 days ..... this was changed its now 21 to 31 days also in some installs like a pub/bar you need D1 and you must be able to control FPS on each channel.

Help choosing DVR for 3-6 cameras per store inseveral stores
tomcctv replied to DavidWD's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. for that many stores i would go with a full managment system. one 8 way hybrid system at each store with each store doing its own onsite recordings and also at head office. look for systems that also give POS as standard (record all cash at register) aver nano EH1008H-4 Nano 8 way hybrid with POS http://uk.surveillance.aver.com/product/embedded-hybrid-DVR-EH1008H-4-Nano CMS3000 installed on PC at head office (free upto 16 dvrs) http://uk.surveillance.aver.com/product/CM3000 view and record from dedicated app on ipad or iphone or BB and android -
Looking for a good box camera and lens combo
tomcctv replied to woltert1's topic in Security Cameras
hi the CNB is separate IR. you can mount the IR were ever you want. but for 250m you will need IR behind the camera and ir at your target end -
Hi. protect. just to give you an idea LEGO cameras are £99 for kids. dont expect to much. but take a look at the avtech ip camera it will do everything you need for a little more money http://avn80x.blogspot.com/
-
yes take a look at the dahua hybrid oooops its not. the aver is and supports 90% of cameras. out of all hybrid systems Exacq and aver are the best options
-
Hi John. just been looking though the manual for your dvr. and i think your problem is the software you have got on disk http://www.ipremoteview.com/ this has nothing to do with your dvr. i will send you a new manual to see if the settings are the same as your manual.

carphone warehouse is also the same company (now in american bestbuy hands) forget about port forwarding if you have either of these routers . both have a talktalk lock out (limited on what you can do) and also block ddns service which you are going to need as they dont give static IPs. best solution for you is to swap out there router and get a netgear from PC world (£50) then you can portforward
