Connecting to Digital Sprite 2 externally?
tomcctv replied to jsutherland7's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi Jsutherland. it all depends on how old your DM sprite is. and this comes with a warning if you have the old DM you may need to update (dont do it yourself) you will kill your dvr. the new sprite needs no remote software but the old one does. if you have the new one PDF. ftp://files155.cyberlynk.net/DS2NetworkingGuide.pdf if you have the old (software downloads) look up your dvr. http://www.dedicatedmicros.com/software_release/index_firmware.php -
I did a search for bosch 495 and it comes up with Bosch VDN-495 which was $600 is there a different camera you are speaking of. the samsung have been around for a while. (you can still buy new) but are on the high side in price. and you still need to buy a lens. buy S/H and you get a good deal. http://www.nellyssurplus.com/servlet/the-1430/Samsung-SCC-dsh-130B-Security-Camera/Detail

Outdoor, but I think I am going to get heated & cooled housings. Hi Bmonaweck. the CNB 20vd are not good for putting into housings. they are used for internal use. (can also buy in dome type) for housing use have a look at the CNB BBM-20F/BBM-21F much better camera with better lens choice
-
hi are you looking for internal or outdoor use ??

Trying to replace time lapse vcrs with dvd recorders
tomcctv replied to md102090's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
Hi md. it can be done. BUT you have a problem from the start. timelaps will record for hours / days. DVR you will only get 1-2 hours if you need to store 10/15/30 days of footage its going to cost you a fortune in dvds. how many cameras and how many monitors do you have ??? -
hi. which dahua do you have ?
-
Hi. KenS. the problem you might have is you are trying to remote logon with external IP while on your home network ?? in most cases you cant do it that way. call a family friend and give them your ip.
-
Hi. standalone or hybrid (if you wish to use ip cameras) both can be connected via cat5 and both can be powered via the cat5 like has already been said going with mac you will be limited. but some hybrids and standalones dvrs will allow you to control via your mac. qvis recorders are mac compatable avrs can also be controlled via mac using apps. the question is what do you want to protect
-
Hi. if you go into your options and go administrator and either add new or edit existing you will then see the options you want that account to do. ............... were are you located Kingofrock
-
Hi with resetting dvr you will have reset remote setting. so you would go into dvr menu and go to accounts. at the moment admin admin will only let you have limited use. so you need to setup another account. SUPERVISOR will give you full control (this is were you need to make a new account) High/normal and guest gives limited viewing and control ill try and find a on line manual for you.
-
all avtech have admin as user name its the password that will be your problem. local you can just use admin and leave password empty but you cant control the dvr. try username >>>admin password >>> 0000

Connecting DVR to multiple televisions
tomcctv replied to Stuart's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
KVM extender is the best way to go (cat5) plus a good KVM will also give you the control if your dvr has mouse operation. -

Creating a CCTV feed on a tv station in my house
tomcctv replied to troy6363's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
hi. its a mine field using modulators (its was easy when anolog) digital is more expensive as you can see from the cost of the ones you have already. if you can get cable to each TV (or use redundent coax) then use a 4in 8 out amplifier. you will have a much better control if you run cat5 to each tv. most TVs have more than 1 AV input so AV1 you could have all your cameras. AV2 you could have 1 full screen camera i.e front door or driveway. for around $50 and cost of baluns for cat5 much better option. (unit goes at DVR end) Video Distributor and Amplifier 4in 8 out Ref: VA4-8P Compact and simple to programme, the VA4-8P allows convenient distribution of 4 video signals to 8 video outputs. The unit is fully programmable using DIP switches so that any input can be distributed to any output. -
qvis 32 is a good system. i would also look at the UTP cameras and use cat5 on everything. your main cost is power (backup supply) if you need the system 24/7 in Afghanistan. AngleSecurity. you are based in the UK. ... sorry thats the part i dont understand. are you doing the install or putting it out to a company out there.
-
can i ask why to UK standard ??? and what equipment you are thinking of using. how many cameras how big is the hospital. cat5 or 6 will be your best option is its a large install.
-
Hi. soul-mann. i would say stay away from wireless. for a 8 way you will find it cheaper to buy a standalone than build. it all depends on your budget

Samsung SSC-21C - Does anyone know how to wire up....
tomcctv replied to mrosera's topic in Security Cameras
just because your unit has samsung on it does not make it a samsung. samsung licence there name out to alot of systems this is why there systems are not the same in pin outs. if you look at your manual it does say which cameras are compatable with your system from the samsung range but on these rj11 connecter systems you can also have audio which uses the same ground. so some mods have to be done from inside the camera and not the lead kit -
Samsung SSC-21C - Does anyone know how to wire up....
tomcctv replied to mrosera's topic in Security Cameras
Hi the problem with converting these rj11 connectors. is the pin outs and getting them right. you can do it with converter leads (but even samsungs are differant for each system) and then there is the cost. you have a 320tvl camera that runs on telephone cable limited to run lenths and power. converter $35 pt then you need a power supply $14 pt so for each camera you need to spend $50 pt you can buy a 420tvl camera online for less and not have the bother
