hi. its a mine field using modulators (its was easy when anolog) digital is more expensive as you can see from the cost of the ones you have already. if you can get cable to each TV (or use redundent coax) then use a 4in 8 out amplifier. you will have a much better control if you run cat5 to each tv. most TVs have more than 1 AV input so AV1 you could have all your cameras. AV2 you could have 1 full screen camera i.e front door or driveway. for around $50 and cost of baluns for cat5 much better option. (unit goes at DVR end) Video Distributor and Amplifier 4in 8 out Ref: VA4-8P Compact and simple to programme, the VA4-8P allows convenient distribution of 4 video signals to 8 video outputs. The unit is fully programmable using DIP switches so that any input can be distributed to any output.

qvis 32 is a good system. i would also look at the UTP cameras and use cat5 on everything. your main cost is power (backup supply) if you need the system 24/7 in Afghanistan. AngleSecurity. you are based in the UK. ... sorry thats the part i dont understand. are you doing the install or putting it out to a company out there.

can i ask why to UK standard ??? and what equipment you are thinking of using. how many cameras how big is the hospital. cat5 or 6 will be your best option is its a large install.

Hi. soul-mann. i would say stay away from wireless. for a 8 way you will find it cheaper to buy a standalone than build. it all depends on your budget

hi soundy. i saw the same artical a few weeks ago along with the new avigilon airport system. ill try and find it for you. but if anyone is thinking of doing a airport and not use avigilon then you know your not going to get the order.

just because your unit has samsung on it does not make it a samsung. samsung licence there name out to alot of systems this is why there systems are not the same in pin outs. if you look at your manual it does say which cameras are compatable with your system from the samsung range but on these rj11 connecter systems you can also have audio which uses the same ground. so some mods have to be done from inside the camera and not the lead kit

Hi the problem with converting these rj11 connectors. is the pin outs and getting them right. you can do it with converter leads (but even samsungs are differant for each system) and then there is the cost. you have a 320tvl camera that runs on telephone cable limited to run lenths and power. converter $35 pt then you need a power supply $14 pt so for each camera you need to spend $50 pt you can buy a 420tvl camera online for less and not have the bother

Hi Shaun. here are some updates ..... but like most dvrs you are best calling them first. with GE you cant go backwards with firmware so you can do harm. look for your dvr down the list. SymDec 16+4 (14.6MB) - V1.60c This is the latest upgrade for the SymDec 16 plus 4 digital recording device. This zip file contains one firmware upgrade file. You need to extract this file to a PC. Once it is extracted you can then copy the flash file you need to the USB drive used to perform the flash upgrade. If you want to keep a history of flash files create a folder with the correct version name and move existing files to that folder before extracting or moving. CAUTION: Please check the firmware version currently installed on your SymDec16Plus4. This can be found in the menu under "Info", then "System". If the version shown is 1.19L, download the version 1.25 firmware file below and upgrade with this version first. hi. it depends on what you mean by shock. if it was power related you would also see your cameras jump of the wall or atleast see smoke. you may be one of these people that can feel tiny bits of static build up. you might find it has nothing to do with your dvr/BNC you are taking the static to it. look at floor covering in that area. i.e nylon carpet. or look closer to home and stop wearing nylon boxer shorts

with this type of connection the camera is old .... and was available in Kits. and would only work with that kit. so if you had a rj samsung system you could not use say the philips rj cameras each company had there way of rj connection some 12v some 7.5 so not compatable with each other. the systems are another thing. lots of posts on here with samsung or bosh where the camera plugs into monitor via rj plugs monitor goes and system has gone. it is old stuff with limited spec / cable runs. / and camera choice

if you dont have a static ip address you will find it much easier to use the aver ddns service. paste this link onto a pc you have on the same network as your dvr and just fill it in press confirm ... always keep port as 5550 http://ddns.avers.com.tw/

Sorry dustmop. can only give you 9 out of 10 for that install. yellow ties would have got you a 10. (just cant get the staff) after you re-wired. Did it work. before and after you seem to have ditched 40 odd connections

hi ljarrald thats an old video and it never took off infact it was pointless for the security industry. the guys mistake was showing a bank clark being held up and saying he could identify the robber while he walked down the street. (as good as a finger print) 99.9% of robbers dont walk. same as in the white paper showed I.e learns how people walk but as soon as you put the guy into his working boots nice heavy steel cap. the walk is not the same as his nice comfortable trainners.

hi brandon. not done it myself but i will later this afternoon with a toshiba screen i have and let you know. avers screen is not discontinued it is a avermedia product not a avers. 2 differant companies now. only downside avermedia screens only go 15inch to 19.

i have only used the aver screens. adding none avers monitors to the PC based is not a problem. you can do the same with the nano. open software on pc and insert the drivers from your monitor into touch screen folder on software. but your monitor needs to be 5 wire resistive type

it must be the most talked about topic on the forum. t3chsupp0rt i take it you have not been installing long ??? people say crimp some compression others say twist on. at the end of the day it is what you are used too. and if used right last just aslong as each other but twist was around for a long time well before we had crimp or compression. i have 80 odd push on BNCs from the 70s no cable strip needed

8000 will have the same problems as 80 with some ISPs change your port to 83.

Hi doing rental never works. you have a big outlay with very slow return on your money. if its a budget problem your customer has take alook at a lease system. your paid quick .. customer does not even need to find the cost of install.

hi like soundy says geo has a few config of cables some with audio some with spot monitor so alot of testing will be needed with a multi meter. or you could try black box (cat5 extender)

another problem with noise. and you find with VF cameras is you have taken the zoom out past the IR range of the camera
