i never spotted that Sean. thats like a china ebay. if your not in china then it can get more expensive shipping costs and if detected you could also be looking at paying duty on it

Hi birdman for a guy with your knowledge it is easy. but you know what some distributors are like (open the unit voids warranty) even tho they sell with or without and also if you want to add more. when you do order just ask them to send you in writing fitting yourself does not effect your warranty

Aver Media EH 5216H+ DVR with Vivotek MD 7560D camera
tomcctv replied to gatemaze's topic in AverMedia
Hi yesit will work with your aver. you may have to download the up to date ip patch (depends how old your dvr is) if you go into ip camera settings and you should see vivotek FD7160 (which is the same camera) if you dont see it i will send you the patch. -
its not typical of geo to take so long if it is done though the proper chain. but the warranty is not with you and geo its between your distributor and geo. did you buy your cameras from the likes of ebay ???? why did you not go back to the seller ??? is your seller an autherised distributor ??? geo will not repair anything that has been sold out of there distribution network. (it tells you that in every manual with goods) $1000 is a lot to loose so i would focus on the company that sold you the cameras and not geo. if you have a RMA then send a email and fax and a phone call to geo. requesting the return of your cameras with a faul report and that you will be sending a courier service on monday noon to collect your cameras.

Hi. if you never bought the camera from them then there is no point contacting for a RMA (you will need a dealer code to get that far)

Advantage and Disadvantage or PoE in a CCTV system?
tomcctv replied to 1337.807's topic in System Design
I'm still waiting for twist-on RJ45 plugs..... **********Edit********* Yeah, I know, technically, they should be referred to as "twist-on 8P8C modular connectors", but everyone calls them RJ45's! wish there was something as simple as twist on but what has become a simple design change to standard rj45 is the srip after crimp. never waste a rj45 again with the likes of legs to short -

IC Realtime dvr1600h4 and IP cameras
tomcctv replied to jshag's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
do you think so rory ....... your not the only person that deals with dahua but my point was to the op HE will not find a device list on the manual ivan has sent to you (the dvr DOES NOT TAKE IP cameras direct) so its not a hybrid and it only calls VGA or 1mp cameras. so if the op is thinking of adding say sanyo/samsung/axis/ mobotix. then he cant -

i think Irvan is pulling your leg. Dahua have a much better hybrid than than manual (infact that DVR in the manual you cant call hybrid) its max 1 mp -
just the right crap from ebay STATES 3MP its only VGA (a webcam)

Please help a newbie start a system
tomcctv replied to Famester's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
thats alot of money just to be able to run 1 brand of IP. and with no option to buy a licence to use others. plus you cant run your analog cameras. for a little less money go for a hybrid. http://surveillance.aver.com/product/embedded-hybrid-DVR-IWH3216-Touch http://surveillance.aver.com/product/embedded-hybrid-DVR-EH6216H-Series -

tomcctv replied to watchdog9's topic in General Digital Discussion
hi like Sawbones has said most 48 led lights are 12v 0.5amp also most also have a sensor that switches them on so it will have to be dark. another problem you might have is your IP camera may not see IR lighting -
Networking through mobile hotspot - Sprint????
tomcctv replied to need2shave's topic in Computers/Networking
hi. hotspot is a worldwide wifi service. you cant add a service to it. you can add the dvr to his network and then have free wifi from any hotspot / fon / cloud wifi area. he needs to add his account (which is at the router point) this will be his log on name and password. to use at any hotspot location. -

Hi. lamp posts are powered 24/7 so going into the feed will leave your light on you would need a PIR light and then you would need to add protection (since uk street lighting is on a 3 phase link) i would leave street lamp posts alone like you already know 1. its classed as theft 2. if you drill or mount anything (they will charge for a replacment) 3. your are not licenced to do electrical work in a public place. but you can requset that the lamp post head be replaced (but needs planning permmision) i would look at adding eco floods in the yard

IP Outdoor dome camera with poe. limited budget
tomcctv replied to north_'s topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
have you seen the cost of the guys exras (you can buy a brand name axis for that) Please Note that: 1. Mounting kit is sold separately. 2. Power supply is sold separately, we would recommend using the original power supply from the supplier. 3. Any POE switch will work, sold separately, we would recommend our customer to use POE switch or POE router to supply power to the camera. 4.Software accompanied needs to be installed and software only works under Windows XP. Power input DC 12V 1A (this is for emergency use only and we recommend using the power supply from our factory, otherwise, it might not work ??? to be honest going 1mp you are best just using standard cameras and dvr you will get more with your $1.500 budget. -
