LCD & DVR toghether better than seperates?
tomcctv replied to abska's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. buy a seperate kit. if the monitor has a problem on the system you have posted then you have no recorder either. -

-
hi. never had a CNB as bad as that. BUT i would say it is a setup problem. you cant compare those two images as the lighting is not the same in both images. CNB you have the extra lighting infront of the camera and on the Mintron you have it behind the camera

Hi same unit as the old deltawave / dahua. there has been no support for I.E for a long time. you need software to view your system. if you have a VCR connected then recording is fine. you could look at a encoder fitted to the TV/ monitor out to just view your cameras over the internet.

your card is 2004 / 5 tech were talking to you about 2009 / 10 card hence the reason for your D1 problem. that because its not on the card SHE was giving you advice about. it sounds like you want your 2004 card to function like the 2010 card (that cant happen)

Hi SDM. is this a job you have done or are you being asked to just install the cables. a contractor was caught out a while ago that i know. he was asked to install a 16 camera system in a corner store but was asked to put all cables and power in 1 weekend and the cameras the weekend after. after they installed the cables the guy cancelled the order. when he went in a few days later with a bill for work done the guy had bought a cheap system from ebay. he only used him to fit the cables to make it easier for him to install his own. and wanted a discount if they are asking for you to just install the cables charge full hour rate and full price for cable BNCs and Power.

Time Compressor vs Motion Cut
tomcctv replied to Translations in CCTV's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Motion trigger. -
Hi. we do alot of hotels cctv wise. so we see alot of AC controls. PIR and the likes can Treble the hotels electric bills. it is cheaper to leave an AC running than stop and start (it uses alot of power just starting up) so if it does not detect all the time the cost can go up. there is a themostat for hotels were you take the room key card and insert it into the room stat (this is not a card reader) it just turns on the system via micro switch. entre room insert keycard AC on when they need to leave the room they need there card key so switches everything off.

hi. you are controlling the cameras from your dvr software which is fine but on your diagram you still have the 485 connecting both (you cant) your diagram shows DVR 1 controlling 1 camera .... DVR 2 controlling 5 cameras and with the 485 link back to DVR 1 from DVR 2 why do you need this ??? -
Adata Apollo, APOHDLED4-SF. Firmware Disaster!!
tomcctv replied to seanfry's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi is this your DVR ??? there are 2 apollo led 1 is qvis and another is a cheap chines DVR. -
Hi. FlameOut. no such thing as a dumb question. its good to do your homework first. the link you have posted are avtech DVRs. you can do better than that. the other problem with the likes of the systems from sams is the cables cheap and not much good for cameras. so i would look at buying seperate bits of equipment i.e DVR / cameras / power unit. and buy a reel or RG59 with power. you cant go wrong with a 4 way dahua DVR and pick cameras for your surroundings internal or external.

Joining two dvrs together to use same rs485
tomcctv replied to typnar's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
hi. you would still not get control from another dvr. DVR 1 you set up your settings for control of the camera... so as when you click on the camera you can use the onboad controller to zoom. so if you then move to DVR 2 and you want to control the same camera you cant it is not in the DVR settings. 485 is out only (transmit) so you have 2 DVRs and 2 monitors. you can do it with the mace but you would need to go 2 DVRs to PC with monitor and use mace CMS.
