for this router you have to creat your DDNS though the service first .... then you input the account into the router ddns settings the Actiontec M1424WR is a bit of an old router 5 years old might be worth upgrading

Hi. if you are going to use a PTZ then i would go hybrid (ip ptz are high priced) the aver nano 8 lets you use standard and IP together. do you have a budget.

Excuse my ignorance on this subject. I'm not sure what you mean by "You can configure your DVR straight to DynDns" I was under the assumption that you needed a client to update DynDns whenever your ISP assigned you a new WAP IP address. Can you elaborate for me? Is it possible for the Dahua to do this? hi. a few makers now have there own ddns service. i have not used the dahua service yet (i do have it here if you need the link) but just like the aver one. log on enter ser No and its done http://ddns.avers.com.tw/

so if amazon had lots of returns would you go and buy them. i think you would find many people on here would recommend NOT buying (no support) who would be making the money ??? for geo cards they do have a list of suppliers to go to. all are around the same price. go with a un listed supplier (cheap cards) and your just buying problems no support. -
new or old the cards use the same software. in your last post you say the screen was black in this post you say it is green and just with the two posts i can tell you the problem. you are using the graphics from the motherboard. you also have to install a graphics card along with your card. then update the driver then remove all aver software ... reinstall everything and that is it.

Which DVR card records the highest quality?
tomcctv replied to flyeye's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
if these are cheap board cams then i would not bother about the the DVR having the highest recording quality. they will be low tvl so just go 30 fps @ cif -
Does anyone know if it's legal in CALIFORNIA for Audio Recor
tomcctv replied to johnny916's topic in Security Cameras
audio is a problem everywhere even in the UK. but we do get around it. the laws are to protect peoples conversations as they go around a store or work place and has nothing to do with the running of the cctv system. but audio is also a big part of CCTV if it is part of a crime. what we do is install audio at all cash areas but we do not feed any audio anywere in the store. i.e monitor without sound . no sound outputs from DVR. so the only time the audio is heard is when the back-up is on disk. that way the police can see and hear everything after a crime then it is upto the police in court to either play footage with or without the audio turned on or off. as well as video audio also tells the story. -

tomcctv replied to urubullino's topic in Digital Video Recorders
what make is your DVR. -
yellow pages will try to get you to advertise....... GIVE that a miss as they no longer print the books. you are best talking to your homewatch areas or even leaflet drops in your area.

Sony SNC-DM110 "Failed Connection"
tomcctv replied to smartboy's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. you need software for the sony to input the IP address. and also to do the camera settings. do you know if the camera has been used before ??? you may also have a password problem it might be worth you contacting a sony distributor as this camera also had a software problem and there was a free fix firmware. once you have the ip set on the camera you just insert that into which ever channel is free on your nano and its done. -
we have not had a problem with them on avers in 4-8-16 or 32. but i do remember you saying you had a problem with the dahua. if a dahua is being used then i would use these cameras. much cheaper anyway and will save money as you dont need to buy baluns http://www.adata.co.uk/Catalogue/Cameras/Vandal-Domes/High-Range/M2-DSP-620TVL-Daiwon-Lens-28-11-No-IR-VAN-2602VFHWH-SF

Have you ever used the CNB DBM-24VF? Do you think IR is needed for interior hallways of a hotel? hi. for your main areas the DBM-24vf is a good camera to use. Hall ways no need for VF as they are narrow then you only need the DFL-20S/DFL-21S. i would not use IR cameras in hall ways or in the hotel rooms locations. you only need to cover exits. too many cameras in parts of a hotel can loose you room sales. reception / bar / fire escapes and on each landing to the rooms is all you need

without knowing the make you could have a simple problem such as time delay for each camera giving you two images at once or the unit is faulty. for the price just get a new one (only cost a few $
-
do you get the same problem if you set the unit to manual i.e press 1 for camera 1 unpress 1 and press 2 for camera 2
-
can you list the make of your switcher
-
can i ask which 3mp camera you are using on the hybrid.
-
less expensive CNB for hallways is ok. but spend the money on the likes of reception area and bar area. and its also good to have a quality camera on Goods in door way. and if you have walk in freezers cover that area as well. one thing to look at in doing hotels is to keep the cameras as disgreet as possable. dont install a black camera on a white tile or roof
