Pal has always been better with handling colour and low light than NTCS. have you tride the same camera but without the monalisa chip same camera /lens/housing but only 560tvl

hi. no need to send it back. but you will need to work on getting your dvr working on internet for DM support to reflash. sometimes they charge and sometimes not. i cant find a post we did on the forum last year sometime (it had a number of a dm service center )

i also have many out (alot) and not seen this. even when the camera switches slow it never gets that bad. HTElectrical,which camera is the CMB the top or bottom as these pictures are using two types of lens.

but were is the storage to playback. I feel like we are going in circles here. Either the encoder needs to be able to save to a network share or ftp the files to a NAS, or I can use the synology NAS to monitor the encoder and have it store the video (some encoders only). ok you want the encoder (because you can control via android) once the files have left the encoder to a NAS then the app becomes usless (no play back) //// just had an email back from synology $900 .... just to have playback. at least the app is free. use synology NAS (which means you dont need the encoders) and use the android app for the synology NAS.

Thanks, but playback is all I'm interested in. I understand that the encoder would need to store the video somewhere. I know I can use a NAS if I need to. then why look at encoders ..... you would need the app for the storage not encoder. just have your geo record to Synology.

not play back no. view and record yes. but you cant have play back with a encoder either unlless you get one with SD memory.

you would need an encoder for each camera you wanted to view or a multi encoder which will cost you more.

the little 4 way aver will do what you want without the encoder costs

Hi the way you see your monitor has nothing to do with your alert. the monitor can be customised to how you want it. from new cam1 cam2 cam3 cam4 ...... now if you change the cam 1 (rename) to cam4 this does not change the DVR software cam4 is still cam1

hi. yes the chip is CNBs sorry i ment using the camera on another make of DVR. we run CNB on cms and dont see this problem

cant be the chip other wise others using the monalisa on say a avers or samsung would also be having this problem. it has to be the way pss is converting the signal.

Hi. have you had the dvr from new ???? screen names can be changed. it may say cam 1 on the screen but the BNC could be in cam 4 on DVR so if you set alarms from cam 1 you are infact getting the alarms from cam 4

updating old avtechs can give more problems. it might be worth just switching BNCs over on the back of dvr. and then just rename your cameras

hi. cheap hard drives never work in a DVR. you may be good at building computer based automation systems. and the prices you have listed are not that bad. most DVRs have a recommended list for HD to use. a PC can write over or passed bad sectors on cheap HD and can even repair them. a DVR cant a bad sector to a DVR is a bad hard drive. it will stop recording. take a look at the Apollo HD pro D1 that is real time recording
