Avermedia 480 card and IP camera question

hi. are you going to use both ip and analog cameras with your system ?
  7. if you contact BT they will give you a static ip it cost around £5. then you will not need a ddns set up. you cant use IE from your own network. you need to get someone to log into your system for you what ports have you used.
  8. just looked at the peak spec. and its only 5 volt and not POE. so your cat5 is ok to use. at the NVR end use a POE injector and use the sanyo as POE. (test cat5 with tester)
  9. who is your ISP. before you try a ddns service get you system working with your external ip first. once you know it all works then set your ddns up .
  10. befor you go spending money the first thing would have been to test the old camera and power supply. what make was the old camera ? and will the software take a sanyo.
  11. so long as the power coming from your power lead is 12 or 24v then it will plug into your sanyo. if you want to go POE for just a few inches then yes just use an injector but it is a waste of money.
  12. Hi foxguard. i would just replace the camera with what was there to start with. of just use a none POE as the power and data is already there. (check voltage first) if they are fussy about the wall they will just be as fussy with extra adaptors that you cant hide

    CCTV on UPS

yes but moving your PTZ you will also need to see the image. and if your Transmitter is only 5v then it will not have a 1 mile range. list the make of equipment you have .

AVC 782a using Dyndns and IP

hi. you might find you cant use your home network for your external ip. some ISP block this. you will have to try connecting from another network to see if yours is working or not.

    CCTV on UPS

just this alone is going to cost you 1k. i think you need to put some more thought into your project. if you do go rs485 for ptz control and video then you can save power at your camera end and only have the PTZ camera have the dvr at the receiver end. but for 1 mile you do need line of sight. if this is a long time install and your dvr is outside then with your power you will also have to add heaters to your power loss. and with your system being so far away you might want to look at some sort of GSM alarm security to protect everything. is there no power at all or network were you are going to install your PTZ.

    CCTV on UPS

can you list the PTZ and dvr that you will be using ??? lighting is not a problem as you can pick solar floods up cheap now so you dont have to add them to your power loss. is there a reason why you want to use a PTZ since you will not have control over it ?? set on tour will drain your power quick. you could go with a rapid deployment CNB PTZ 4g but thats your budget gone. but it does last a week

    Budget DVR recommendations

are at the very cheap range. and do come with problems. dvr kits are made up of the cheapest parts you can get. low quality leead kits poor power supplies. and colour ir cameras that are no good at night. when you take alook at your friends. it may look good on the screen . but remember its the recorded quality that you need. ask him to burn off say 1hrs of footage (it will take about 40mins) then take the footage home and see if you can replay it on your pc

    Best cheapest system?

the only thing with lorex systems is they are the next step up from a pen and sketchpad. the recording quality is bad and thats the important part of any system.

    Budget DVR recommendations

Dahua in the uk is under the qvis name. and for the basic dahua with 500gb and internet viewing and 4 cameras is in your budget.
  21. i would look at a few posts back. like soundy has said just buy a cheap ip like a foscam it will save you alot of time and effort. a web cam is going to give you bad images. then you have to leave the pc on just to run your webcam. what software are you using with your ip cams
  22. do you have a system that takes ip ?

    DVR Active Alarm Callout

you can connect a GSM dialer to any CCTV dvr. pick them up for around $70 you just get another sim from your cell company (pay as you go) so as you dont get cross network charges. but most of the time now its all done via email from dvr (no charges) can you get internet onyour phone.

    DVR Active Alarm Callout

hi. the avtech 3g server could be attached to a number of there dvrs. it alerts you via sms message (cell charge) and if you needed to view footage you called the server back with your mobile which also has a charge. these servers were used if no internet was at the dvr location. do you have internet ??
