hi yes your are a port number short you need http://ip-address:5550/mobile (this is only used to test viewer) but this will only give you still java refresh images. so you are best with Http:ip-address:5550

nice to see you are putting alot of work into your system. the apollo has full PTZ control built in (move via mouse) and the dvr also has sensor control if needed. Siamese is fine for the PTZ (video and power) . to install a PTZ is just like anyother camera except you need to also install a data cable (cat 5) to control the camera movement (just 1 pair needed) Siamese with power is also fine for the rest of your cameras and as the CNB is 12 or 24v i would look at buying 24v with the size of your cable runs no baluns need for any of your cameras if using Siamese. just BNC connectors on every coax end. cameras power supply all in one are good like the Altronix ALTV2416600UL3

wish it was that simple. first we do need the spec of your dvr. if you need software to view your system by remote then that is another problem.

I didn't know that. I thought you could use any Ip camera on the list. yes for none geo ip comes a big cost you need a licence in blocks i.e 4-8-16-32 and its not cheap. and also a cost to use POS. its something geo needs to look into buying there products and then be charged to use them .... they even now have a dongle to check if your card is a true geovision or not .............. and that has a charge. in the UK we have had 3 big suppliers drop geo

Hi julian. i have a few customers over in boston and lincon. i think you may be getting a few service call jobs from us. i used to use the old VCL domes (still got an 19 year old still working on an install) you will find it much easier to make your din lead. you can get all connectors from RS componants for just under £5. then just follow this pin code

i dont think starting again is the way to go. you already have 16 cameras. i would go hybrid (32) and add mp cameras along side your existing cameras. and its a good way to go as you add cameras as budget allows you can use most mp with this and your existing cameras upto 32 cameras. http://www.averusa.com/surveillance/productdetail.aspx?id=90

you can add ip in the form of geo nvr software to your system (if your pc is upto it) then you have the extra costs of a licence to run none geo ip cameras and then you also have extra cost from geo to run POS. (which no other company does) just in the geo running costs alone you can buy a nvr with built in POS . and have no other running costs on what ever mp camera you want to use.

The frame rate issue is a very tricky one. The fact is the speeds that manufacturers quote are usually the "maximum" IPS (image per second). And FPS (frames per second) why do they do this-because 2IPS=1FPS. Therefore, it takes 60IPS to equal 30FPS or a single real-time image. anything that has IPS is only to make the spec look good. and then there is the other setting to look out for (found on alot of cheap chines dvrs) is Fields per second which are IPS 10 Fields" per second = 5fps

costco box sets are a cheap way to buy cctv. ..... but if you are looking for quality then you need to forget about costco. it all depends on your budget and how much homework you put in to finding the right system.

sorry i have seen much better images from cheaper cameras. the problem with your image. your car is clear the guys feet in the background is clear. the guy walking in the image (the area you need most ) is very poor not clear at all (looks like a ghost walking past.) have another look at rorys pictures my point. (i did not see you camera link at first) that camera is not hybrid at all sold all over the uk from £30 to £150. just the price if a hybrid Illuminator is alot more than your camera.

yes it does. CNB does hybrid cameras (without white light) like it has already been said. 930nm or 830nm together is called hybrid 830nm and white light together is also hybrid. what make is your camera. ??? and again hybrid can be added to cheap cameras or part of a cheap camera. anything new that comes along the cheap guys will make a cheap version. but with hybrid you also need the camera to have two light filters. if its a cheap camera i think one filter will me missing. giving a bad night image.

hi. just logged on to your ip with I.E and everything is fine. log on with firefox and error message.

from your home it may get blocked. have you tried just using your external IP and port from an external location.

ok both o2 and BT block port 25.

are you trying to access dyndns from your local network.

but in your image you used firefox to goto the dyndns. and not I.E. (Retrieving via IE Browser Access DVR IP via IE browser picture comes up as follows.)

hi. you dont need authentication if you own the IP (i.e paid for static) you might be better setting up a Google mail account. as you might have a problem with going though 3rd party with BT. from 02. do you need software to veiw footage from your dvr ?

what port number are you using and whos server ?? and who is your isp

if the guy is of no help and you are able to send it back. then send it back. its from ebay and you already have a problem. say in 2 months time you have a problem you are stuck. the guy has bad feedback and he has not sold much (thats a warning about him) for around the same price you could get a dahua DVR (and they come with warranty)
