Ethernet over power is wireless it’s also everyone’s mistake that cameras have to be fitted to the house only… which is not the case
-
There are other ways but you have a cost of changing from dvr to nvr is there other places around your home to get power we’re it’s not in the way of building work also 7 cameras with coax is a lot of cable …. Staying with analog (dvr) you can change cable to cat5 and run 3 cameras off 1 cable going nvr ….. you can use Ethernet over existing power adapters which does away with most cables but everything depends on your budget

Lorex says I can only use there POE switch
tomcctv replied to moose66's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Tech support will only help with there own products…. Otherwise they would need to know every manual for switch or managed switches but yes your right it an IP problem your nvr will assign an internal IP address to each camera…… going via a switch nvr can’t assign IP it will have to be manual do you have a power supply for your camera -
Can not read licence plates at night
tomcctv replied to Modesty's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. With not using a anpr camera your going to have problems but for the equipment you have I would set camera to day only …. So as IR doesn’t come on and also stays colour this way you are relying on the cars lights and licence plate light to work for you …. Also you will get colour of car -

Hi. I would look at TVT systems you have two options with cctv HDanalog or IP …. One runs on a dvr other on a nvr HD analog is the cheapest but no difference in quality HD analog needs coax shotgun run for dvr to each camera location 100m is around £45 and also needs a power supply to run cameras HD cameras are cheaper than IP but resolution is the same IP system is cat5 cable run from recorder to each camera (upto100m) but this also powers the cameras so no need for power supply what part of uk and I’ll send you a link for a close supplier

tomcctv replied to ronald forrester's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. IP or analog ….. coax or rj45 controlled standalone or pc based camera make ? can you give more info -
Hi. If you have the chance to take back to Walmart…. That is a good option and here is way no one uses analog anymore so it’s already out of date 960h is analog (they say HD ) no it’s not 500gb hard drive …… pointless if you go on holiday more than a few days you have spent $199 so far and needing to spend another $130 for power supply and cable plus connectors plus bnc tool

cheap chinese ptz camera
tomcctv replied to celnut's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Cheap …. Have problems take a read of this thread -
Hi yes you are right it’s a power problem and also a cable problem camera systems run on coax or cat5 with baluns your lead kits are cheap and nasty and this has been discussed on the forum for years amcrest power supply. it’s too small to run all your cameras put you hand on it in day and night and feel how hot it gets cable kits. cable is too thin to carry the amps needed video side of cable is nasty speaker wire again too thin and is not 75ohm which is standard for cctv your lead kits are 100ohm yes you can spend more on the system you now have ……. Cctv power supply $40 replace cable with coax shotgun or cat5 with BNC connectors that’s another $100
