hi. yes you will need a static ip. the good thing with with BT is a static ip cost is only £5. and they will set it up while you are on the phone to them.

Sanyo CCTV is closing doors in USA
tomcctv replied to ak357's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi AK its the same all over the world. sanyo cctv arm was sold to panisonic. 2012 they will just need to become panisonic distribution agents. same manufacturing site same staff just new name. -
hi. what model bosh are you using and what will you be using for recording. you would be best posting a google image of the area you need to cover. also mark out if you have extra power along the 2m wall. can you go underground with cable/fiber
-
you do know you cant run power 2mile along a wall ??? with the budget you have .......... close on a million $. you could get a company in and still make money. but i think you are not talking US dollar ??? are you talking Zimbabwean dollar ???
-
hi. if you think going coax is too expensive. then thats the end of your job. fiber will cost 10 times more. and if you have not used fiber allow a budget for mistakes. mains power over 2 mile is also going to be very expensive. going to look at a job of that size and thinking coax,, is a problem in itself. cat5 is an option but you need power. what is the total budget for this job. there is no point going into other options like microwave or solar power.

What do i use to plug in several things at same time
tomcctv replied to quick_pick's topic in Computers/Networking
hi. something like a netgear router. you will need to get a cable router. this will then plug into your existing modem. -
We would rather implement a solution using solely network cameras, since the facility already has ethernet drops in several ideal areas. you can still use standard cameras using the ethernet (4 cameras from each.) is evey location with in 100m

i think you are taking a risk. many have moved from geo. i talked with a company who have sold geo cards for years and had a problem with a few cards only for geo to ask them to make shure the cards were legal. you could spend $$$ on a new pc and have even more problems. if your system has been working fine. then i would start to look at simple problems. how are the fans working in your dvr ....... have they gone slow it might be worth buying some new fans and add some extra .... it will only cost a few $$$. also disconnect any CD drives and see if you get the same problems.
-
hi cameraguy5. have you thought about going hybrid to get the price down. you can then still use vivotek and standard PTZ for the loading area.
-
i would check .... the world standard for TX and RX is TX = is transmit (send) from DVR. RX = receive (income) at PTZ the apollo may keep rebooting if you get a receving signal back though A+ B- the transmit

Coaxial cable cut in CCTV camera
tomcctv replied to mujju_433's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
yes new DMs have a built in video help menu. are you using a DM ??? but the result is the same. when cable is cut you will either get VIDEO LOSS or blank screen. and if you have alarms switched on for video loss or fail hard drive. then the DVR will give an audio alarm and this alarm can also be sent via DVR network. it will be the CUT cable. -
Coaxial cable cut in CCTV camera
tomcctv replied to mujju_433's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
do you mean how can you be alerted to a cable being cut ???? most systems will have a function called video loss this will make your dvr beep or if you have email alert it can send you info. but if you are talking Can anyone tell me how to identify a suspect when someone is cutting the video cable of a cctv camera then it would be better to hide or protect your cable .. to identify a person cutting the cable ... your camera would need to have the view of the cable in its image to identify -
price sent via pm.

hi chris. what charity are you involved in. i have just got a price from qvis. (dahua dvr) and 16 cameras (qvis) trade price is in your budget. less another 10% if the charity is a known one.
-
Hi remove the hard drive and reboot then see if your system stays on without hard drive.
-
+1 on your apollo the pins are marked as A & B you will find them on the bottom green connector strip just above were you put your network cable in. (last 2 on the right looking from the back of your dvr) so >>> RX+ connect to A ..... RX- connect to B (using data cable from ptz to dvr i.e cat5)
-
out of the two FD8361 is the best option. it costs more as its much better.
-
hi both cameras are POE. vivotek is a good budget for your cameras. i would also use there software very easy to use and setup. ST7501 its free. http://www.vivotek.com/products/model.php?soft=st7501

View Avtech DVR via Vodafone Broadband Dongle
tomcctv replied to Jonno's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. i have never used the Edimax router. we always use netgear 3g/4g router. mobile 3g for cctv is expensive if you dont get a security package from the likes of t-mobile or vodafone.. but since this post was started we have found another cheap way. which is though the BT FON wireless network. you can either buy network time or change your home ISP to BT or (o2 bt) and connect free. this will allow you to use a wireless router at DVR site. so do a search (wireless network) at dvr site and see if you can get either BT FON or BT hotspot -
FTP Snapshots of Detected Motion - records continously :-(
tomcctv replied to QC444's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi what equipment do you have. ?? on some cameras or dvr you will need to look for other settings other than motion detect. snap shots are part of alarm settings -
how far will your cameras be from the DVR once installed. you may be better just using the baluns that you have on each camera and having the VPS at your DVR.
-
hi johnregor. you will need to use both ip addresses for your system. if you can log on away from the system then everything is setup ok. you can view your system away from your dvr location because you are using your external IP address. but in most cases you cant use your external while on your local network. internal ip >>> your dvr address plus port external ip >>> ddns address or static ip address plus port

FTP Snapshots of Detected Motion - records continously :-(
tomcctv replied to QC444's topic in Digital Video Recorders
it depends on your camera or DVR settings. sending snapshots you will also need to reset your pre and post alarm time and also the FTP can be set to a time or file size. the smaller the better.
