hi. the first thing for your install is a good pool alarm. you can get some good floating remote alarms for pools. we have had a few from a company in texas. in a pool situation CCTV does not take away the liability side from your customer unless they monitor the camera 24/7. a good pool alarm and some Optex Photo Beams would be a better way to spend your money. then take a look at putting a camera over the pool area. if you dont have a very big budget then your best using a standard camera (without IR)

PTZ camera doubt
tomcctv replied to mujju_433's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
you can use software. but there is nothing better than a PTZ controller (dont need dvr) -
why do you do the work if you dont like cctv. i think you are Anti cctv because you dont understand how it is used or works. in the case above the cctv gave the police a starting point to find the child as they knew the street the child was to walk down. so you start from that point. (the start of evidence collection) and in the case above it was the guys car that gave him away. but evidance collection from cctv can do alot more. use the link to work it out. http://www.online-calculator.com/ billions used on CCTV, yes each person pays from there taxes but what do you think it would cost to have a police officer on every street 24/7 365 days. i think you will find your taxes will have to go up alot.

Fa chris. you do know that while you are walking down a street that has cameras the operator does not have a clue who you are. so how can it be an invasion. most street cameras in america can be logged into by anyone. am 3500m away from DC but i can log in to any of there cameras just as i can in NY/NC/SC florida atlanta. they are put in with your money for you to also use. going on a long drive .... look at traffic (beat the jams)

your main problem is your budget. bad light conditions will need extra lighting. like eco pir lights i would say look at Analog with your budget. you could take a look at avermedia hybrid cards and use both analog and ip cameras and add to your system when your budget allows. but i would start with your lighting first.

i think Barack Obama will take your side. he has not paid a UK fine while in his Beast in london. Obama's 'beast' slapped with fine American President Barack Obama has been slapped with a £120 London Congestion Charge fine. The ticket relates to the President's state visit to Britain in May, when his motorcade - including 'The Beast' - drove through central London's Congestion Charge zone. http://uk.cars.yahoo.com/20072011/36/obama-s-beast-slapped-fine-0.html

If I type the IP address of the DVR, it loads the webviewer software fine on the LAN. in most cases you cant use your Wan ip from your own network. also do you have a static ip

I have both set. I'm using the WAN IP address, I confirmed this with ipchicken and other 3rd party sites. can you log on with your LAN ip ??

the company is doing well and expanding into home automation

i think cctv plays a very big part after the fact. its one of the purposes of cctv. in order to provide possible evidence in criminal cases. it can also play a big part in before the fact. many times we have had a jewellery store raids and on the day of the raid all you see is guys in masks / type of cloths / shoes/ but going back a few days on the system before the raid you see the same gang entering the store to plan there raid

Hi. for the same price as the maplin system. you can get 4 cameras and a 4way dahua DVR. if you get your money back from maplins ill send you a link.
-
hi. you will also need to add the port number to the ip. so you need to type http://your ip:5550 Correct, All I'm getting is the Page Cannot be displayed error.. I'm quite confident the port forward is right, as I've done it quite a few times. When entering in my ports, do I select TCP, UDP, or both? hi. set TCP/UDP to both. are you using your internal ip to log in ?
-
hi. the first thing we do with maplins stuff is put in the bin. maplins dont have bad batches they buy and sell graded units. end of line and returned systems. this has been brought up on the forum before. you are best taking your system back for a full refund. if not buy some good smoke alarms (not from maplins) power supplies that arch out is just a fire waiting to happen

a good test lead to have in your tool box is a BNC to micro clip. grips the poles well from monitor test point in the camera. plus its ideal to check cable at DVR end before you crimp your BNC. for around $5 well worth having one with any BNC test monitor.

360 degree cameras and milestone
tomcctv replied to sommere's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
the VIVOTEK FE8171V is a very good camera for the money. been out in the uk for a few months now and selling well. fisheye domes, the FE8171V is the first fisheye fixed dome network camera from Vivotek, featuring 3 megapixel resolution. Equipped with a fisheye lens for 180 degree panoramic view (wall mount) or 360 degree surround view (ceiling/floor/table mount) without blind spots, this camera is able to provide an 8X wider field of view than a standard VGA camera, significantly reducing the need for multiple camera installations, Vivotek claims. It is suitable for monitoring open areas such as airports, shopping malls, parking lots, retail stores, offices, and much more. The FE8171V offers a variety of display layouts, including original surround view, panoramic views, and regional views for various mounting applications. Hemispherical images captured from the fisheye camera can be converted into conventional rectilinear projection for viewing and analysis. And in the panoramic and regional viewing modes, users can utilize the ultra-smooth ePTZ function to easily zoom in and focus on a region of interest (ROI). The FE8171V features a removable IR-cut filter, and its IP67-rated housing is designed to help the camera body withstand rain and dust and ensures operation under harsh weather conditions. It also features vandal-proof IK10-rated housing -
if your ip cameras have audio (built in mic) then you need to do two things. login to your camera with its own software and enable audio. then log back in with your server software and under camera settings in the Vivotek ST3402 you will see image / audio / or image and audio. click image and audio box.

Hi. if 2.5amp is the total for 4 cameras that may be too low. bosh 24v are 700ma each. plus looking at your image you have cameras front and back of your home. you also need to take cable lenth into account. (voltage drop)

Hi adam. many companies in UK are droping geo. all as they are interested in at the moment is if the card or software is fake or not. this problem seems to happen to geo cards when you have first done the build everything is fine. and you start seeing the problem when you add extra H/drive or connect to another network or even just adding a KVM mouse control. geo does have a USB dongle for card and software authentication but they want silly money for it. i dont see the point in buying geo cards from a true distributor and having to buy a authentication dongle. should be given free to long time user of geo cards. geo need to sort themselfs out.
