Why some of the IP camera has 540TVL?
tomcctv replied to mujju_433's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
i think you are talking about the setting up of a PTZ camera that then uses an encoder. if you see ip cameras listing 580tvl -600tvl then they are cameras with encoders. you will also see webcams being sold as ip (vga) the cheap end of the market. if you want to go ip then dont go below 1.3mp -

DVR Remote Access without Port Forwarding
tomcctv replied to jtreibick's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi is there a problem why you cant use ports ?? some routers or hubs have now got good security built in which is going to make access harder without ports. -
hi.bullngator the samsung SCD range are internal cameras external range are SCV. i would say not to use your SCD for outside

hi need2. sorry but the company have just sent me there price list and specs (AVS) and what they call the apollo and titan or atom. are there names for there DVRs. and are nothing like the brands that i know under that name.
-
HI the apollo is a dahua DVR. the new range seem very good (qvis) but the titan is polish based software designed by a company called big bratt. and they charge for a licence fee for everything. not used the titan since 2009 it was a very unstable dvr. might be better now but we called over 30 units back in 2009. (still got some here). if i had a choice between the titan and the Leviathan. which is the atom. i would go with the leviathan its been around for years with good upgrades. all of which are qvis own brand except the apollo

geo is a toy compaired to aventura. the aventura may seem to be expensive if you buy it fully loaded. the key is to buy with just the analytics you need and will use. -
Outdor Ip fixed dome with mic, poe and sd recording
tomcctv replied to glf's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi glf. i would not trust sending money to them. then you also have to take into account support. that site comes up as not safe on ip check. take a look at y-cam they have sd cams in your price range. -
so why advertise an IR camera ??? it might be a better start if you remove your company prices before posting.

Help! Lens compatability, video drive vs. dc drive iris cont
tomcctv replied to m_w's topic in Security Cameras
Hi just to get it to work as a standard camera is just not worth it. yes it is feasible but your just adding more cost. cameras now only need 1 coax and 1 pair for control. your camera you will need to run 6 pair and coax at least if you want to build your own control unit. all that cost for a black white camera. you can buy a CNB 30x zoom box camera for less -
IP camera system with 2 way audio capability.. advise requir
tomcctv replied to cp4874's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
in the places that you do need audio then you are best using cameras that have 2 way. sanyo/axis I disagree 1 system is easier to manage/support and use. i would also keep everything together. i.e images and sound. having separate system for audio is usless without images. -

tomcctv replied to m_w's topic in Security Cameras
i know the camera as hitachi leeds. what business is your boss in Antiques ??? the camera was last used 1987. just the cost in time alone you could buy something better and colour. i hate to think what your boss is going to bring out when he says he still has the recorder -
hi your DVR is a TVT you only have two options. removing the hard drive may give you more problems. you only have two options with the TVT.

Forgive my ignorance
tomcctv replied to Numb-nuts's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
alot of the time its possable to use USB ports and use coverters. best using converters with drivers if you want to assign com ports. USB to RS232 USB to RS232 then RS485 RS232 to RS 485 all of which can also connect PTZ or alarm I/O boxes (alarms) I/O alarm box. -
hi. have you tried to start your dvr without the Hard drive connected. the zeus is a dahua DVR. (a later model) did you buy your unit direct from them.
-
hi. this one should work Zeus MK1 SATA Firmware v2.606 second one down in the zeus window on the left of the files i sent you.
-
hi. what you need to do is remove your DVR hard drive. download the software onto a memory pen insert it into the usb on your dvr and then switch it on. and it will go into update. it will tell you when done.
-
i have the Hardware. is your unit from UK or USA ? Tom, could you, please, let me know how to proceed? hi. just PM you what you need. look at s/number on your machine (on back) and download software to mem pen. go to step 3 on these instructions (top of page)

on the spec of both. the everfocus is a better FPS at D1 unit. both mac and pc viewing. CNB only being 3fps which is low for that sort of money.

Tricky site to site DVR multiple site link
tomcctv replied to Stuartbe's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
HI Stuartbe. it sounds like you are using alarm foil data cable. which is not a good cable to use. and if you are not using baluns at the moment. i would just pop one on each end. but before you do anything we need more info. how far are the DVRs apart from each other. are you using the monitor out on each unit ??? (you may also need to boost it) -
Hi tetek. many people have tried. they just dont see sata drives. if your cusomers are just looking for more storage just add extra PATA (but dont remove the master) if you have just been changing hard drives then you will get errors. the DS operating files are on the firsts partition of the master drive. so that needs to stay in.

20 camera system retail store
tomcctv replied to Tom12345's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi. the XR is pure ip. so you would have to run total ip mp cameras. this is the same unit but hybrid. no licence costs for both ip cameras or POS cost for software. http://surveillance.aver.com/product/hybrid-DVR-SA6832E-RACK -
a Vivotek POE Injector would be the best way for you if you are just using 1 camera. Thanks for the reply - the switch can deliver the POE - does the injector then use cat 5 cable? Or what cabling needs to be run with it? hi. yes you only need cat5 with rj45 at each end... how long will the cat5 run be ??
