a Vivotek POE Injector would be the best way for you if you are just using 1 camera.

hi. for just a little less than your budget take alook at the aver EH1004 nano. use two 1.3mp cameras for inside and two huviron P700IRD/M845AI cameras for external. the reason why i say the huviron is it has alarm outputs on the camera which you could use metal alarm strips placed over your lead. you can also record off site with the nano server software

Hi. if your VFL20S came with a light blue leaflet and a red and yellow power card. then it is old stock. at least 2 years old. both the VFL20S and the VFL21S were then releast as BNC and UTP so then came with a 15 page manual covering both and the rest in the range were you have the option to buy just BNC or BNC / UTP its just down to how old the stock is.

this dvr has not been made for the past 18 months. you need to look at the eb 3004 net and install CMS3000 on his pc/laptop. does he not have internet at both sites ?? -

hi. do you have internet at both sites ?? if you are going to use the avermedia then you would be better using 2 8 way dvrs. that way you would not need another pc at each site to view all images. with the aver eh1008 nano you can have 4 cameras and 4 cameras from another site on the same system. so both sites will be recording all 8 cameras. -

what state are you in. a number of states have now introduced regulations which prohibit the use of a security camera in a "private place" - which means a place where someone may reasonably expect to be safe from any unauthorized surveillance, even if these may be in "public areas": in particular, hidden cameras in locker rooms or restrooms. Keep in mind though that even in those states where there is some minimal regulation regarding the use of security cameras in public places, any breach of these laws usually amounts to a misdemeanor, with a fine. -
colm. can i just point out this post and your others. YOU are asking for help and advice. your PM to me makes no sence at all. YOUR asking for advice. but you dont like it when we give advice to others

we dont class a ptz that you have to set the optical zoom by hand and only have digital zoom as the controlled. thats why we say there not true PTZs the camera listed even says its 100x zoom (Informer PTZ -EXT Dome Sony ExView 570tvl CCD CCTV Camera 100X Zoom 10 X Optical ) a bit missleading when the company does not even know what its selling.
-
that is not a true PTZ (classed as mini) not worth the money.

what state are you in that will allows you to record people in a park area. and collect car information on a shopping centre. alot of states dont allow you to do either. i think cameras looking into a park area and monitoring a shopping centre is called spying (without a persons knowledge) -

i would uninstall the active x command for your dvr from your pc and try loging in again. -
Tom that is not correct, they are one of many distributors that import the DVRs from China. In fact if one is to contact Dahua and ask them where to buy their DVRs in the US, Dahua recommends MACE. qvis main company adata have been the longest running distributor of dahua (dahua used to be called deltawave in the 90s) so qvis will have the newer dvrs well before anyone else. we have the new ones now at qvis uk.
-
-
not thoughtinted glass. can you not mount another camera at gate were it can see though front window ?
-
the NEW american name for dahua is qvis. i have the new catalog here with 4 brand new modles from dahua. comming out this month. with the cameras you have listed then i would look at the new DVR0404HF-S-E

it is just the price of everything 4 cameras and a server from axis (just to get your cameras to work with security spy) seems a total waste of money. keep the cameras you have listed and the money spent on the server buy a dahua (and have change) the dahua DVR will be the replacement for the server and the cost of the security spy software and licence. you can control the dahua dvr from any mac (and i bet you have an iphone) as well ... and much better usage on your network
-
with exceptions (Third-party firmware is available which allows this to function as a four-camera server.) security spy is very limited the cost of all the cameras and server you have listed alone is going to be limited by the software are you thinking of building these systems for resale ??? why are you looking at mac ??

hi you have a internal and external ip. are you using the internal ip (local i,e 192.168.x.x) when trying to connect to your system from the same network -
from what you have listed that seems alot of money. if you are just going to use security spy software why not just use some 1.3mp axis cameras. ?? the Axis 241q video server is not supported by security spy, you could save alot of money by using the dahua hybrid dvr (mac control)

its the old 4eyes pro, .....but i got a question , does it matter which program it is , im just trying to view remotely , dont i just havve to have the port open and log on , im not an IT guy, but that would be my guess..........shouldnt i just be able to punch in ex ip and see it ,or maybe that avermedia is so ancient that i cant, I really thought it would be some kind of setting on itouch, but nothing on itouch says download active x..........maybe its something with apples web browser?????????? iphone or touch cant use active x thats why you need an app. have you been able to log on away from home with a pc ?
-
yes i definitely am.............the actiontec guy told me THAT was my ex ip, i specifically asked him...starts with 173.....my local starts with 192.....unless he doesnt know what he is talking about, hope not when at home. you cant use your external ip. also your card may not be supported as it is 7 years old. can you log on external with the new aver remote viewer ??
-
if you are getting this message then it is looking for active x. are you using I-Viewer app. used many different apps , just downloaded aver i viewer , it already had port 5550, just put in ip ,username , and password and it says connection failed, iviewer screen comes up with no video thanx are you using your external ip. ??
-

-
with this message it sounds like you are not using an APP. you will need to get the free app from itunes. and you will also need to portforward ports 5550 in your router directed to your dvr port.
