we can get them wood effect/ carbon fiber effect / mirror effect. but if we need black ... then its just down to a spray can.

your subnet should be 255.255.255.0 and your gateway is the ip of your router (the number you use to callup your router) netgear is usually 192.168.0.1. but you have a sky router which i think is 192.168.0.2xx

can you not just add a sling box to your large monitor. put your image into sling box first then to monitor. then you can stream how ever you want.

hi. dont now why you keep making a new thread. in your last thread i asked for you to try everything WITHOUT ddns. use your external ip. then once everything is working then set your ddns dvr .. port 82 router forward port 82 to your dvr address. set to pass though your netgear firewall. also on your dvr make shure all settings are the same subnet 255.255.255.0 and your gateway is the same as your router.

EyeSpy247Ext Problem for a person at risk
tomcctv replied to HumanRightsNGO's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
there are plenty of engineers in london area. i could put you intouch with.... but i dont think that this is your problem. the kit you have is a simple plug and play auto set-up. you could have a few problems IF. the camera has already been used or you have bought second hand. if the camera was used on another network and you try to connect to another it will not work without a master reset. the company offers a reset but only to the original buyer. (via cam ID given when first setup) for the purpose you are using the camera i would say dont use it and dont buy the same brand. you sould never have any 3rd party (who you dont know) recording and watching your camera. buy a ip camera that you have total control over. -

Popular selling point for IP solutions
tomcctv replied to lely09's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
By this same argument, buying a Hummer is cheaper than buying a Jeep Liberty. BTW: Example Residential/Retail 1x MP Camera $600, 1xPC for NVR $500, 1x100' Cat5 Cable $50, 1xGB POE Switch $200 = $1250 +Labour for networking and setup of IP camera and Switch+Training (if client even computer literate) 4x Color IR Cameras $200, 1xDVR $250, 4x100' RG59 Siamese $140, 1x12VC 1.5a Power Supply $15, 8x BNC @ $1 ea $8 = $613 +Basic setup (DVR setup in less than 3 minutes, plug, play and record) Labour for both will vary, but with cheap Color IR anyone can basically screw them up on the wall and they have no real adjustments besides twist and turn ... its so easy a caveman can do it Now, with the 4 cameras you have 4 areas covered instead of just one with the MP camera, although lower resolution so you cant see the mole on the perps face. But most people buy based on how much something costs, not what they want or need (or lets face it everyone would have the best vehicles and largest beach front homes), and if positioned properly in many cases the lower res cameras do provide good enough evidence to capture the perp, even if some digital enhancements are required. Even if all of us Professionals were to move to IP cameras today and never touch another analog camera, the analog camera will still have the market as people are essentially cheap, as long as the cheaper product is out there, they will buy it even if it means installing it themselves. i think its a cost issue that people get mixed up with. $600 for mp is not the case if you just go 1.3mp and use a hybrid $280 -

ok. set everything to port 82. and on your router you are creating a service i.e CCTV with port 82. are you also listing your CCTV on the firewall rules ??? and how are you typing the address from IE.
-
hi. there are two AVC791 1 silver 1 black. which do you have ? try setting your ports to 80. and then see what you get. also leave out your ddns account and go to your external ip instead. this is just to see what you get up on your screen.
-
have you directed your ip in ddns to use 8888 ???. i.e ddnsname:8888
-
while on your home network you cant use your external ip in most cases. you will have to check it from an external network.
-
you dont need a port for local. 8887 8888 you need for remote.
-
does that port work ???
-
hi. did you mean 8888 ?? you also need to add both to your router 8887 and 8888

i understand that but if his main purpose is to record on a public carpark i.e cars / people / not in connection with his private property . then yes it needs to be registered with the DPA. -

Hi. what council are you covered under ??? see the problem with the UK law is if the find the joy riders the max fine they will get is £80. but the council have a much bigger cost getting them to court in the first place. its just the stupid UK law. your council will be DPA. and this is also about to change. but here is the copy. http://www.ico.gov.uk/upload/documents/library/data_protection/detailed_specialist_guides/ico_cctvfinal_2301.pdf -

hi. if you or who ever installs the system to view in a public space is not registered with the DPA. then 1 you will be braking the law. 2 you could be find £5000 upwards. -
sounds like a 3rd party solution. i would not bother with that type of system. what is the monthly charge

IP Residential System Design w/Pictures, Time to upgrade
tomcctv replied to EOppie's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi. many ggod cameras out there. axis/sanyo all well priced for home use. you said some of your neighbours already have axix installed. it may be a good idea to find out what software there are using and get the same (if good) you could then help and protect each other property. you take a camera stream from them and they take a stream from your cameras. good protection if one or the other has the PC stolen. there are some axis and others for sale in the sale section of the forum. viewtopic.php?f=22&t=20564
