Looking for recommendations for a system
tomcctv replied to alpha's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi box sets are not always a good option. if you are doing it yourself then take alook at the AVerDiGi EH1004H Nano you could install that with 2 ip cameras ans 2 standard with your budget. plus if you spend long times away from home the avers is uk central station approved. so you can direct your dvr to them for off site recording as well. -
hi yes she will have a BT phone line. she needs that or cable. but broadband will be with talktalk her ISP. talktalk is a cheap ISP and has restrictions thats why it starts at only £9 a month. I'm not experienced enough in networks, reading by description in router about DMZ, it didn's sound to me useful, so I left it as it was-disabled. Should I turn it on then? i am a bit confussed your ip belongs to talktalk and not BT. talktalk do block incomming to your router have had to change customers in the passed to another isp (talktalk ) carphone warehouse. here are some screen shots look at portforwarding and insert your dvr settings were needed. http://www.pcwintech.com/screenshots-d-link-dsl-2640r-d-link-firmware your pingback. Hostname: 92.18.38.176 ISP: TalkTalk Organization: TalkTalk Proxy: None detected

many do hybrid now. it just depends on your budget. but some also require you to buy licence to use ip cameras so you need to check that on which ever DVR-NVR you look at. another new one on the market is the dauha hybrid. 1 of only 2 systems on the market that are plug and play 1080p Hybrid Dvr, up to 20 cameras - zero network setup - no router/switch configuration zero network bandwidth problems - zero cabling issues - one cable per IP camera - Built-in 4-port Ethernet router - Built-in IP camera power (Power over Ethernet)

if they cant show real pictures on the spec sheet then all they are doing is selling crap. the picture they have on the spec sheet going day and night are the same picture colour turned black white. (same frame) how many cameras are you looking at doing. is it worth all the time money and effort.

Connecting camera to computer to configure camera
tomcctv replied to quick_pick's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi if you have the tools you can convert or make your own. or you could buy a adapter link. eithernet crossover adapter. -
Hi buying samsung DVRs is a minefield. samsung dont make budget or cheap dvrs but what they do DO is licence there name out to others. like the ones you have listed over spec. IPS are not the same as FPS so 200 ips is only 100 FPS. samsung do make there own DVRs but you will find that the price is much higher. SHR-A range are good little samsung dvrs and i would say that the SHR range is the cheapest true samsung dvr. but if that is out of your price range then have a look at the Dahua dvrs much better spec than the systems you have posted lots of support both on here and the manufacturer. one other thing i would say is dont use box systems. buy your dvr and look for cameras for each enviroment in your install.

Connecting camera to computer to configure camera
tomcctv replied to quick_pick's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. you might find that you need a crossover cable if you are going direct into pc. (some ip cameras come with one for set-up) can you not plug your camera direct into your router. -
Hi. it is a very good little unit. and it is a budget system to get onto the ip ladder. for ip/standard cameras / and POS there is nothing close to it. just a few problems. you are best running on widescreen monitor. and you are restricted to 4mp one 1 input and the rest 1.3mp on the rest. but is a good little unit for the price.

see just go to posts to add your signature. pounds in spain .... like it

I mean cheap. did I mean low quality? and you said: cheap means low quality. that's why I want to know more about your expensive and high quality products. no such thing as CHEAP and GOOD. looking at your website you trade what is known as the sentinal dvr. / swann / maplins. do a search on this forum for any of them and you will see nothing but problems. so CHEAP brings problems. Both you and cctvikegata are spammers (cctvikegata and Alex82311240) and another i am trying to find are from the same company all you do is post just to get your signature up. you dont say anything to help at all. people always check websites and yours has come up with a bad history. 5 company names (one of which is band from the forum) same ceo same contact numbers. is sending money to your company safe i would say NO will your products have a good BACK-up in place 5 company name changes i would say NO. should people who visit this forum buy from you i would say NO. a spammers life is hard.

DVR Trying to send info back to the Manufacturer ???
tomcctv replied to QC444's topic in Digital Video Recorders
I thought about that. But I have DNS turned off. Maybe I'll triple check it. The IP address is for Savvis...so it doesn't really tell anything or help.....PROXY obviously could have something to do with your ISP or you have and application like cloud on your pc. -
like soundy has said wireless never works. plus people tend to install wireless cameras to the closest power point just for ease of install and not where the camera should be. most CNB will come UTP if you state it when you order i.e DBM-24vf UTP. then you can just run cat5 to each camera (for video and power) and just use a balun at dvr end. many good and bad budget systems out there. but you can go wrong with either dahua or avermedia 4 way. both do good iphone remote viewing.
