I'm not sure what you mean by the picture doesn't fit. The output seems to fit the screen ok but the quality is poor. Is this what you mean by not fitting? Using a KVM is one option but would then involve a VGA to CAT5 converter. I've seen some monitors which have VGA input and a BNC output which could then be fed to the TV via CAT5 and baluns. Can you confirm that the quality of the VGA output should be as good as what I'm getting from the SPOT monitor output? yes the vga should be alot better. in the last month we have installed 14 of the nanos. 2 of which are on 32in monitors. do you have a large tv. just try your dvr in that see what you have. but you do need better than just a standard 17in monitor.
-
hi. you need a wide screen monitor with the nano. if you are just using a standard 17in then your image will not fitt. if you have a tv with VGA. you could use a KVM and split your output of your vga and run a cat5 to your tv that way you will have full control on local monitor and also your tv.

Split one CAT5e to feed two cameras
tomcctv replied to andyh747's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi andy. a good way is run your cat5 to the closest point to both your cameras. connect your baluns and use a coax patch leads with a bnc to bnc connector from your camera back to your cat5. so balun then BNC to BNC connector then a patch lead to each camera. -
How to bid a system like this
tomcctv replied to gtxkid's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
gtxkid. then thats your first problem ... the spec you have listed is for ip. (licence for cameras) are you talking $ -
Yeah I do what make dvr do you have... all the ports look ok on what you have posted you have a static ip (payed for) does your dvr have remote software ???
-
Yeah I'm not on site. On site (on the LAN) I can access the DVR via the Web Service and it logs in fine, it's just trying to log into it on the WAN where the problems start do you have a static ip address
-
I tried all 3 ways ...Http:// IP:37777 Http:// IP:37778 Http:// IP (80) The last one above produced the info message "Time Out" at the Web Service login page, the other 2 (37777, 37778) either didn't connect or produced the same message....I can't remember those 2 and for some strange reason all 3 are failing to connect now so I can't check?! Must be something up with the router are you doing this away from your own network.
-
OK I've done the above with the public port field left blank as in pic below (I know pic shows 37776 but has been deleted!) and now I get a new "Info" message when trying to login on the Web Service page which is simply "Time Out" http://s1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd366/eivissa85/?action=view¤t=routersettings2.png I can't access the router remotely anymore as all traffic is being forwarded to the DVR, as you mentioned this isn't a problem as the only time it needs accessing is to sort this, which looks like it needs to be done on site anyway! Just wish I knew what it was that needs doing?! Is the "Time Out" message simply a slow connection? The Web Service page does seem to take a lot longer to load up than it did when login wasn't a problem, maybe a problem with the router?! Thanks again for your help! how are you loging into your dvr. Http:// your ip:37777

How to bid a system like this
tomcctv replied to gtxkid's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi bidding is the easy part. you have a spec for the job so now you need to plan what equipment you are going to use and price with your mark-up. but you have many more questions to ask first. like the computor room ..... who builds that. it has to be secure steel door/ access control / you also have alarms listed. are you licenced to do alarms in your state. if not you also need prices from contractors. you would be better letting people know what equipment you are going to be using .... and put your price up on here and see if you are close to what is expected for this type of install, -
Hi if you are not using avers ddns then ports 53/1053 are no good to you. you need to portforward 5550 that is the only port you need open. who is your isp.
-
looking at your photo bucket. you have 2 ip addresses for your dvr .......... they need to be the same on your router your have 192.168.201. you need to change that to your dvr ip which in your post is 192.168.2.116.

i have not used the 3g with mobotix (just posted it as it is very low power camera) would be good with solar or wind power. Tmobile. both in the USA and UK do a 3g sim pack. only used for data for the likes of cctv. another is vodafone on att U-verse network
-
mobotix have teamed up with a company in the uk. any of there cameras over 3g (soon 4g) good thing about using mobotix is they have a low power consumption to start with. so your not spending a lot of $$$ to just keep the camera running. footage stored on camera and also can be recorded off site with the mobotix software. or if you have 50m line of site then mobotix wireless. Mobotix MobileCam by Cybex: M22-MIT - GSM/GPRS/3G router. Powered by battery charged by solar energy gives 100% independence from any cables. You simply carry it or place it at a spot, switch it on and live transmission starts. The frame rate depends on the available bandwidth of GPRS or 3G network. Applications: Broadcast of an event at web site Remote surveillance Traffic cam on a moving vehicle Portable Construction site cam Sailboat live cam Broadcast of images from a person moving around this one ready to go everything in one unit. or the wireless setup. I've tried all usernames available and although they still work on the LAN using Web Service, they don't on the WAN. I'm still pretty sure I've corrected the port settings to the same as when it was all working. The HTTP port on the DVR is 80 Router Port forwarding..... 37776(public) to 80 (local) I'm trying to access the DVR on the WAN using static IP followed by the public port xx.xx.xx.xxx:37776 This worked before which is why I'm after any opinions on what other settings could be stopping the login, as it seems the forwarding is working up until this point?! Do you have a static ip ... with the reset of your router it might have changed. google myip

like we said over power problem 12v 0.3a ... camera is rated at 9v

downgrading your fps will have nothing to do with resolution. running a dvr at 15fps than 25fps you will see no differance.
-
Hi hackerjack. you may find its down to the managment of the dvr. running 32 cameras at 25fps. your system is doing alot of prossesing at that rate. are you also on record only or are you on motion. you need to sit at your system and do a bit of managment. as in ........ look at cameras in some areas you need good FPS set them to 12-15fps (you will see no differance from 25fps) areas with little traffic set them to 8 - 10 fps and set your dvr to motion record (your dvr has pre and post alarm) so you dont need to be on full record. doing this will half you prossesing power. which card are you using ... nv8416e4 or nv8416t

Anybody knows PTZ installing plz help me
tomcctv replied to viptajik's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi viptajik. you might be better getting someone in. the picture you have posted is not right. were you have BNC writen ..... that is your RS485 were you have rs485 ...... that is your power. and were you have rs485 see the thick wire .... that is your male BNC (you need to pull the rubber cover off) these are all the cables you need. the others are external alarm inputs. the RS 485 you need to connect to the little box (the one with the black red cable) that box is connected to your controller via telecom cable. BNC from camera to dvr and then you need power. to the last cable. do you know the power of your ptz. also set everything up on the floor first. as you need to set your protocols for your PTZ and controller to talk to each other. -
with what you have said. then no it cant be the card ( removed camera and pluged direct into dvr ... fine) tried another camera checked cables all is ok............ then was it the camera ???
-
could be a bad negitive connection. (-) re do all your ends. and also check what power you have at camera end.
-
sorry to bump the post. why put people though this rory. all you have to do is switch of password login on dvr. same thing . simple and dont have to down load anything
-
hi. it take a little bit more setup than just pressing the facefinder button. once in face settings you also need to pick camera and also use your mouse and draw a squire with your mouse in the area to pick up the face. facefinder does not record .... your dvr does that ... facefinder logs faces and stores in a file.
