Hi aszbaz. you have said you are an it technician. ??? your in the uk here ia a break down of costs. your £250 budget . first off the cost of pc. £300 at least for a budget tower ............... thats it your budget has gone . just on pc What I need is to be able to install wired cameras without drilling you are going to find this to be a problem. if you are going to install you will need to drill. (what do you say to your custom if he wants a camera outside) this all might seem hard to you but your looking at starting a cctv company buisness. they are many BAD cctv systems out with your budget. what the industry does not need are budget installers. yes it sounds hard but i hope it makes you sit back and think . if you are going to do it then do it properly. starting up a company costs money

Need help setting up dynDNS with dvr, general question
tomcctv replied to skystudios's topic in Digital Video Recorders
what the router gui allowed me to do is forward port 80 to the dvr IP, its on the ethernet, the ip which i also set up in the dvr scratch everything, i got a dyn DNS host name instead and used a reg name instead of email now it all works, eh never no-ip again, atleast witht his router thanks for that IC dvr you need to port forward more than just port 80. it also needs 32789 and 37778 -

Need help setting up dynDNS with dvr, general question
tomcctv replied to skystudios's topic in Digital Video Recorders
it does not ask you for your email the domain name should be your NO ip.com account followed by your user name and password. I thought my user name to update all my domain host names is is my email and a password of course, do let me know if i misunderstood that please., if i type in just part of the email to update the IP via the no-ip application it says the login is incorrect., but as soon as i add the HOTMAIL part it works. this link also provides some screenshots, i could be wrong since it says DDNS http://www.icrealtime.com/support/howto.asp?noteid=K96071 I am under the impression that the GUI or cable network router GUI has a bug and refuses to let me add the whole email or anything new now, it resets my login (the email) to a short name with out the @hotmail part as if its too long. first of all you create a service for your dvr firwall(ports) and give it a name i.e cctv. and on your first image .. your router you enter service = cctv... domain name = your noip name...... user name = the one you created for your no ip ........ passwork = your password. you dont use your email for any of this set-up dont use it. it is only used to open a no ip account. -
What exactly do you mean??? i just think he is upset that there are no professionals on the forum

client software will only let you view each dvr you connect too. you may be better listing your dvr make and see if it has a CMS software. this will allow you to watch all together.

Need advice for a pro & budget DVR please..
tomcctv replied to teech's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi teech. what is your buget. you are looking at two systems. if your warehouse and office are together you may be better off buying a 32 camera system to cover everything. what i would say is look at going hybrid. there is a point to were you listen to a customer and then you have to educate them. going hybrid is better than staying anolog good ip cameras can mean less and are ideal for a warehouse situation. you are best finding out the full budget first. -
i thought it was a good offer send me your email and ill send you some upto date patches for MY 9000 pro oooops sorry your 9000 pro.
-
to be honest RSTePOS. you should have seen when fitting the camera that you could see it was not a PTZ. you fitted the camera you should know its manual adjust.
-
used for that price is not bad (ill give you $1001 for it) dont do a software update. press f1 and if your software is below 7.1.0.0043 DONT try to update it the 9000 pro will not work.
-
can you send me by pm were you can get this for $1.000 or is it second hand ??? i think even bpzle will buy a few for that price. we cant even buy them direct from avermedia for that money
-

PC Software - Best Analog connection to PC - ActiveWebCam
tomcctv replied to apple100's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
the problem with activewebcam is it is licenced software ............ you need a licence to use on pc and one for remote viewing. so by the time you have paid for all that is would be cheaper to install say a nv3000 card and it does much much more and better quality. -
Hi apple maplins cameras are crap. if you are impressed with them go and by a CNB you will lock yourself in a dark room with a box of tissues for a week. maplins are the low of the low in anything cctv

can you not put a monitor on the dvr. video loss could be anything .... bad connectors or bad power unit. and it could be your network cable. but you are best of starting at the dvr and see what you get with a monitor pluged in.
-
do you have a monitor on your dvr. and if so does that show video loss.
-
Hi Dot Bevins. Bt will give you a static ip this will save on added set up problems. with a BT router you dont do any settings on your dvr you do everything in the router. as a BT router will not show ip addresses it will only show mac address of your dvr and you portforward all your ports to the mac address. you will need to set 3 port types for the avtech. go to firewall on your router and do the settings from there. go internet explorer and type in.... home then click on firewall
-
hi your problem has been going on for a month now if it is urgent you might find it better to get someone in to network it for you. as far a video loss on the screens .... this is because you dont have cameras connected to those channels. go into avtech menu and under cameras you can switch off cameras you are not using. on the network side. do you know the make of the router you are using ??? but before you waste time you will need a static ip or a ddns account or you will spend time setting up your dvr only for it to loose the ip the next day. who is your ISP with.
