  1. Soundy I will find out. I am replacing Panasonic 484s with Sanyo HD 3100s. The cameras are the same price so this is an easy sell for the customer and I have found the Sanyo's can handle the backlighting very well. I will try to get before and after images. Hi thewireguys. am a big fan of sanyo i use the HD3500. and they do cope with backlight very well. i will post some footage soon of a armed robbery ........... need to have the court case first before i can post it. footage was taken from a hybrid and was very clear but the footage from the onboard sd card was just like watching a good movie.

DVR reps have access to DVR

actually, this does not work. I have changed the admin password at the DVR, but the guy was able to log in regardless. This reset password they have is universal, but I would like to disable it or change it if possible. thanks Hi for them to get into your dvr you would have had to of given them your ip address ................. just change it

    OMG OMG!

that explains it all i have just seen another post from the guy with his cat5 If you could afford it, I would suggest high-resolution IP cameras with analytics. The high-resolution allows for easy identification, the IP camera allows for networking including long-distance access points. And the analytics is a form of camera intelligence that can identify certain human activity and then notify you or your security instantaneously via smart phone with an actual picture in real time. A regular dumb analog camera system will only show you videos of people with masks on as they rob you after the fact. I am a security consultant specializing in cameras. I works with medical marijuana growers concerning their special security needs. Shannon -- Maui customs surveillance ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As a security consultant who works with growers, I would not advise sleeping in a tent. If you are sleeping in a tent, there is not much standing between you and the bad guys. And if you're counting on your dog waking you up, is just too easy to kill a dog silently, silencing a dog is not difficult. I would advise against getting a dog, particularly a noisy dog. Not only will this attract the attention of your irate neighbors, it will attract the attention of would-be robbers who actually case neighborhoods listening for barking dogs to lead them to the growers! And the irate neighbor could be more of a threat to your business security, who may not object personally to medical marijuana but would object to any business being run in his neighborhood that would pollute or create noise or draw traffic and devalue his property. It's impossible nowadays to get so far back into the boonies that your neighbor could not hear your dog. Trying to make your neighbors your friends, and do not ever draw attention to yourself or your business. Shannon -- Maui Custom Surveillance

    LPR / ANPR advice

Hi daniely . just some advice for you people advertise standard cameras or ip cameras as ANPR cameras. and you need ANPR software to run them. i think what you are after is a standard camera or ip to log number plates a good sanyo 400 and milestone software will do just what you need. and it will also open gates or a barrier if it know the reg in its database. http://www.sourcesecurity.com/image/33873.html
  6. Hi toast. some cool covery cameras.

    Lines in all the Cameras

on your demo i can see the motion lights. are you putting VGA and the composite though the same monitor. No, I only have a VGA monitor hooked up at the moment and I only use that when I am configuring something I cant do remotely. I just remembered that when I am on the set up screens I don't get any screen distortion. sorry kccustom. am getting a little confused. the video demo you have is composite view. how do you change screens from that to the set-up screen (which is vga)

dont understand your problem ............ you say aver are going to send you a new board ??? .... i would have said no. all avers have 2 years warranty. send it back. your problem is on a camera view. the demo of the ops video the problem is on the screen Its is the exact same problem as the op, mine does the same thing across all the channels I just posted the one because it is easier to see. I would send it back but I am already out 30 bucks shipping for the first one I sent back, I requested that they just send the new board so it would be cheaper for me. Here is another video with all channels. Hi you do not have the same problem at all. is your dvr on a network ??? if you play your video demo you will see your getting text. you can see it on porch cam/ garage. / back yard street. cameras. is you dvr networked. also what is your pictures like on vga out ?
  10. stand alone units will just give you text text overlay. if you need the pos to do more then you will need a pc based or embeded dvr. what are you looking for your system to do / how many cameras / how many cash tills / how many atm. and what make of pos do you have installed

    LPR / ANPR advice

"keep the cost down and something that will work" We all wish that Well you will need 2 cameras if your going with Axis. One set for day and the other for night. seriously? can't they switch modes automatically? or is that because the settings must be different? i think the software is more of a problem than the cameras? half of the software seems to be for analogue cameras, the other half is in the thousands of pounds!! Hi daniely87. you have said pounds so your in the uk. are you looking for ANPR (software collection of number plates) or just a camera that will allow you to see a number plate on your dvr. if it is ANPR what is the application you need it for .... private or public
  15. Hi the cost of using fibre is going to be 1000s this is before you have purchased your ip cameras and nvr. and if you have never done fibre i would say you are better getting a company in to do it for you .... termination tools are also expensive. or you could install a nvr at the point were you need the cameras and remote it back to your office. this will save you lots of money to spend on a good nvr and high end ip cameras.

    settings, camera looks bad

all cnb ending vf are high end cameras. so i would do some tests first. do you have your card set to pal or ntsc (USA) ntsc. if you have it set as pal will give you bad picture and large pixals. also plug the camera into a tv just to test the quality. and what size power supply are you using.

    department store system

yes you can do ......... but try and stay away from the cheapo converters. you need on that you can change the res for the monitor. avermedia around $40
  18. tomcctv

    department store system

they are many ways of doing this ... one way would be to use the out /output of the camera you need to display. or on some dvrs you will have a tv out and you select your camera from a menu. and it depends on the type of monitor you use (you are best using a monitor with AV input) as then you will not need a vga converter as this degrades the image a little. so a monitor with AV input and all you need then is something like this.
  19. Hi. this unit is too old and you wont get it to play though your usb on to a laptop. you take the footage off the unit by usb then you can view footage.
