Ip cameras on embedded DVR
tomcctv replied to geraldhumphreys's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
they would be no point. ip is digital your dvr is analog. Then won't an analog to digital converter work? analog to digital are user to put a standard camera onto a network. so no that will not work for you. if you just have a standard dvr (not hybrid) then you can only use analog cameras -

for 1 camera the sanyo comes with software. just load onto your pc. or the sanyo HD 3500 which has a sd card onboard. -
Hi seanog. you are best having two usb sticks ..........format both on your pc ........ but format 1 as fat and the other as fat32 then back-up on both sticks and see which format plays on your pc.
-
that camera is just like the bosh pixim as well as focus on the lens you also have focus on the camera. you get it as best you can by the lens then you can fine focus with the blue ring on fron of camera.
-
like SEANHAWG has said with a bosh and a 50m lens you should have no problems. but in your secound post you say EQUIVALENT to bosh. what make camera do you have ??? and also your lens is it glass or plastic

UTP for analog video is rubbish
tomcctv replied to Malloot's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
not entirely, as if that were true then we wouldnt be needed, the clients could just buy the same products from retailers and install it themselves. thats not the case rory. say a customer called you out to give a price for a system but the customer wanted you to buy all the equipment from ebay $20 cameras and a $60 dvr. but he wanted to see faces at 60ft and record for 30 days. what would you do buy and install or give the customer the knowledge that you know the system will not do the job but the equipment you sell will. -

I would suggest this Leader 435B NTSC Test Signal Generator just seen on e-bay I have Leader 396 and I love it Thanks AK, Again nice kit, but here in Europe we are PAL. In addition it does not have the 2T, 10T Pulse and bar output required. But many thanks anyway. Ilkie http://recycledequipment.com/index.cfm/product/926/leader-lcg-396-ntsc-pattern-generator.cfm http://cgi.ebay.com/Leader-LCG-396-NTSC-Pattern-Generator-USED-/230551737449 http://cgi.ebay.com/Leader-LCG-396-NTSC-Pattern-Generator-/20054369 i have 1000s spent in test equipment / test generators / auto focus tools / but at the end of the day there is no better test than pluging the camera in . i have worked on contract with ADT guys with all the test equipment and on all there paperwork and test sheets everything is right ......... plug camera in and picture quality is crap. every engineer has there prefered camera or balun or cable they use as its trusted and tested ... it is down to equipment used at the end of the day. -

forgotten the Dvr ADMIN password .... HELP ..!!
tomcctv replied to toolman67's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
the hikvision apollo. it depends on how you entered the new code. if you have shut down your system just after entering your new code then this is called covert admin ............ means you can only reset buy network login. so if you can remember your password try that. but if you removed admin and entered a full user and admin password and forgot it then firmware is no good as you also need the password to load it. if you send me your company details i.e letterhead or company website then i will send you a factory reset flash. -
Keth. that is a big camera for the front of your house. and if you are in the uk i would not waste your money. putting something that size on the front of your house will only bring more problems. it is ok to protect your own property. but to use something like the Dennard 2060 that will allow you to watch and zoom into public areas and other homes in your area. will just be a waste of money and you will be asked to remove it. like what has already been said forget trying to see number plates. yes you will see cameras that say they will read number plates and most can IF CAR IS PARKED or moving very slow. remember a cctv system is a collection of events i.e person entering doing damage or theft / what are they wearing / how many people / colour and make of car /how did they leave and the date and time.

Hi survtech how many cameras are on the power unit and what amp is it.
-
hi. i would start at looking at the power ........... if you move the controls to move the ptz and the picture starts to flicker or go off. is a good indication that there is not enough power to run camera and move it.
-
the best thing to do to save you problems is to swap the dvr. and put in something with support. take a look at avtech. the dvr you have is sold under 100s of manufacture names and its the cheapest dvr around. other names. CNM / SWANN / 4Tone / maplin / Byron / Tiempo / Castle. you have invested in a cctv system and you need it to do its job. its not your cameras just the dvr unit ....... pull it out replace with a avtech and relax.

(Ask)CCTV camera Specification for Formula 1 Circuit
tomcctv replied to hsaumin's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
it depends on were you are installing the cameras. on the track is mega money FIA have there own company for that in oxford. and they dont use cctv cameras. -
hi keth. you would be better protecting your property and not the road. if you are in the uk you will have problems having a camera in a public place. getting number plates is an expensive application. money better spent on your protection of your home. for the front of your home i would look at one of these. it has some very good features . zoom on detection / flash on detection (makes people look were flash came from (image of face) and it does have a good range with ir 70m -70M range visible in total darkness with 70pcs of IR LEDs & 5~50mm lens -Supreme Resolution (600TV-Line : Color, 700TV-Line : B/W) -1/3" COLOR SONY Super HAD CCD Ⅱ : SK-P700IRD/M844AI -1/3" COLOR SONY WDR CCD : SK-P700IRD/M845AI -Huviron GenⅡ DSP -IR LED output level controllable via RS-485 (PELCO-D, PELCO-P) -3-Axis Bracket for 3D(Pan/Tilt/Roll) rotation -LWDR or Super WDR, DIS(Digital Image Stabilizer), 3D-DNR, Sense up(256X) -Day & Night function(ICR) -Split Glass Technology, Waterproof(IP67) -Using IR Lens to prevent defocusing(F1.2) -Fan & Heater for extreme temperature operation -All controls hidden behind an easy access door -Multi-language Full OSD support -12V DC or 24V AC Dual voltage -MULTI FUNCTION : Lens Shading Compensation, High Light Mask, Motion Detection, Impact Detection, Privacy Mask, Defect Pixel Correction, Freeze, Flip(H/V/Both), Digital Zoom SK-P700IRD/M845AI sunkwang

Hi Davie. for what you are looking to do i would just have broadband connected to the phone line.and just use standard cctv cameras. going ip is just not the expence you need for this application. i would use the following. 4 CNB VCP551 1 avermedia eb3004 dvr 1 microphone this will allow you to zoom in when needed from your home pc or laptop or mobile. you have lighting in the barn so you will see everything as 4 camera display and mouse control zoom.

POS interface/seach.
tomcctv replied to aroonkl's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
if your pos data is on the same network as your cameras then i would also look at avermedia software. -
yes that camera is fine ......... very good camera but the problem i have with it is the bracket. and if you get a lot of snow it will move. plus the security side its not a good bracket. i would look at the CNB WFM-24VF/WFM-25VF much better bracket

Clover CDR 0440 DVR / Camera bundle Consumer's mini-review
tomcctv replied to Toaster's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Not quite, in the case of the Qsee anyway, please see the other thread related to that. That is a Dahua DVR, it blows away Avtech and Avermedia in the sub $300 range, and at much less money, I know, I have one here, and I just chucked the AvTech, AND I have the EB1304's in the field. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=23194 hi rory EB1304 finnished two years ago replaced with the EB1304 sata plastic and that stoped 14 months ago and the replacment is eb3004 sata and the new eb3004 sata plus with same screen as nv wipes floor with dahua -
hi the qsee cable is poor quality if you want it to last i would just run RG59
-
i would just go with RG59 with power.

Clover CDR 0440 DVR / Camera bundle Consumer's mini-review
tomcctv replied to Toaster's topic in Digital Video Recorders
hi toaster. the problem with the clover and qsee and the other names they sell under CNM maplins. is they are very poor. no support bad back-up and to be honest i will alwat talk people out of buying the box systems. you go and test budget dvrs with brand names i.e avtech / avermedia /appollo and you will see they are far better with back-up and much better spec. it does not matter the persons budget its giving the best at budget price without having to buy better later.
