Help choosing a hybrid NVR
tomcctv replied to tds1's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Just off the top of my head (since I've been researching/discussing these systems recently): NUUO 7000-series cards, the Gen IV (Intellicam) "Enterprise-class" DVR, the AVerDiGi SA9000ePRO, some of the GeoVision cards. I'm sure others can name more. just a little lesson for you ............. most manufactures with list the best part of there spec sheet i.e D1 30fps it mean at these settings 30fps will be at its lowest settings like 30fps in cif. and any of your customers will love between 8 and 15 fps ..... which is very good. and going back to your other post your budget is $1000 for an 8 way .......... you are at the limit of buying something at a low end spec . -
I need recommendations for PC-based DVR/software
tomcctv replied to SpyGuy10's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Thanks for the info. But I don't see the advantage of the Avermedia over the NUUO. True, you pay for additional software licensing for the NUUO to add IP cameras, but let's do a comparison: NUUO SCB-7008 (8-ch analog card) + 8-ch IP software license: $1,000 + $1,060 = $2,060 AVerDiGi SA9000ePRO (16-ch mixed analog/IP): $3,439.00 From what I can tell, NUUO's software is feature-rich and is comparable in capability to the Avermedia system. nuuo has nothing like what the avers can do as far as features go. and the price differance is the SCB-7008 is software comp and the avers is hardware comp. -
Help choosing a hybrid NVR
tomcctv replied to tds1's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Would that be the AverMedia NV6480E16 Card? According to their specs, it's only capable of recording analog at 160fps at D1 resolution (10fps per channel). That's not good at all. Btw, what's the deal with their website? All the product images are missing. 10 fps not good ............... do you understand fps ??? -
What kind of Hard Drive should i install on an 8CH LTS DVR ?
tomcctv replied to omer78's topic in Digital Video Recorders
dont waste money on AV drives. and they will give you problems. W/D tech say they have had many complaints off people using AV drives in dvrs. AV drives are for pvrs and home media systems were the drive it stoping and starting all the time. on a dvr your drive is not stoping and starting. just get yourself a good mame 1TB sata H/drive. ...... some one will tell you that they are no good for 24/7 operation . its all crap i have had H/drives in dvrs for 12 years running 24/7 and still working well. -
I need recommendations for PC-based DVR/software
tomcctv replied to SpyGuy10's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi spyguy. the problem is your price. and you also have the problem of the nature of the install. ok its a private airport but it is still classed as a high risk area. so if you are going to be the installer i would look at getting the best images possable. since you have cameras already fitted i would agree on going hybrid so as you can go ip also. its costs more than your budget but i would look at the avermedia sa 9000 pro. its has some good features that will suit a small airport . i.e will take a photo of everyone going though a secure area / auto tracking ptz controls. (not many places you can use auto trackers in a normal install but a quiet airport it will work well) and unlike the nuuo you will not need ip camera licence for each camera. -

Q-See is the worst company...
tomcctv replied to Digitalbil's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
what happend to the company you bought the card from ??? and name. what you have to remember is you was sold your card by a salesman .... who has never used the card or know anything about cctv. q-see is world wide selling bottom end dvrs and cards under many names. what is it you are trying to do with the card .......... why not just use it as cctv why do you need it to do other things. -
can i ask how you have 16 vga and 16 ip on a 16 system
-
Hi arcadiacctv. if people have cameras that have bad images or bad ir..... they are hard to sell without having any comeback................ so they sell on ebay. if you have a good dvr (which you have ) and the others are working fine then just put it down to cheap cameras and learn from it.

How to link to camera some 500m away
tomcctv replied to Wonderer's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
if you can run coax cable to were you are locating the camera. then you will have no problem using a VDS video sender. i have used many and they are good for 8-900m and they are not expensive at all ...... this gives your power/video/and sound down 1 coax cable and you can use any standard cctv camera. -
Hi jonny. do you know which LJD you have .... it will tell you on the screen.
-
Hi. rudijanto69. Yes the Q24 works well on the avermedia. but it will use 4 channels of your dvr
-
Hi kriscad. pm this guy he may be able to let you know were you can get one from ucp.php?i=pm&mode=compose&u=10829 going hybrid is a good idea yes ip cameras are on the expensive side but comming down in price all the time. avermedia also do a full range of ip cameras and you can also use most others without having to buy a licence.

VEC1604FB or GV-1480 card...hardware or software...?
tomcctv replied to x-man's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi xmen. it would be better for you to post your budget. if your budget is like the cheap china link you have posted then there is not much as in good products for that price. -
Hi jonny. you might find it better to give honeywell a call in your area.
-
Hi johnp. if you buy from ebay and you are not happy with the footage or how it works then its a bin job to be honest. you cant buy something cheap and then expect software to make it better............... start off with a bad dvr and you have always got a bad dvr.
-
the best way for you would be to connect a video recorder to the bnc maked monitor or tv output. without knowing your dvr make you will never find pin-outs for the 25pin plug
-
it is a forum but we need more info ...... its like me asking you do you like this shirt i have on
