    Long distance camera power supply?

Hi toughman. i would look at using bi-wave connectors. and at 1.100ft you will have no problem using them and the good thing is they come with a power supply to run a camera with audio down i coax. i have never had a problem using them. http://biwave89.sg1001.myweb.hinet.net/images/VDS21002200%20Diagram.pdf

    Eleveator camera noise

Hi Mecca. you have another problem when installing cameras in a lift and this also applies to installing on ships. you have a problem called frequency noise. (vibration) your body cant feel this in the lift but it will make your camera vibrate. so first go in the lift start it moving and hold your thum against the camera and see if your problem stops.

OMG!!! Returned items?!?! That is a definitely no-no!! I won't wanna jeopardizing any security with a returned product. wat do mean by "box sets"?? referb dvr cheap cameras cheap power supply all in 1 box ............ never a good idea
  10. yes it started off as one of these ......$2000 toyota MR2
  11. Pearwood. you get what you pay for ............. can i interest you in this
  12. Hi billchad. you have a freeview set top box and like soundy has said you will not get a picture though it onto your screen and as far as using a rf modulator..... this also will not work as the settop box will not see channels that low. remember a set top box is digital and will not accept a anolog picture direct. it may be better for you to find an old 24hr timelaps video recorder

1st post - advice wanted for home setup

Sorry Tom .. but I beg to differ .. I do not know Maplins as I m from Singapore .. But I have handled enough AVTech systems to say that the mentioned system is good enough for basic usage. It does fulfills all except the detects only on motion .. there's a way to configure that .. but I usually leave it as the default now since Hard Disk are so cheap. A 500GB HDD shld be enough to record for more than a mth given that he needs only 3 cameras. AVTech systems work very well with iPhones with the EagleEyes iPhone Apps i also use AVTech.............. the problem is. maplins are resellers of returned equipment. they also us adds to get people into there store. but everything is box sets ............ not a good way to buy.

Vertical Pole Mount to Horizontal Beam

Hi.mastervision. we use alot of a product called unistrut. for both cameras and monitors. http://www.unistrut.co.uk/index.php?M1=Support%20Systems&M2=Beam%20Clamps
  15. Pearwood....... hold on a minute in your last post you said CCTV is not rocket science. can you not get hold of the tech line on ebay to replace your card. if it does not work and its from ebay ...... what the hell do you think you can do with it. oh yes buying clone cards have you wasted money mmmmmmmmmmm yes i think so ...................
  16. well go on then ebay is a good place for you to start. if thats what you want to do. i dont think you understand cctv. or you would not have started this post. it sounds like you want to buy crap and turn it into a top end. and that cant happen
  17. pirated or cloned cards cause problems ...... first you have no support at all. how are you going to look after your customers if the card in the first place is crap ............ plus let me ask you ............ do you sell your cloned card systems cheap ... i bet you dont and not only that you are not a pro at your work you want to make money by selling crap
  18. Hi EOD. i till say get a pro in ......even just to look at what you are intending to do. from what i can see from your two posts you have a ptz and it is coaxial. a coaxial ptz is a old type of ptz all your data/power/ video is down the coax to a control unit. if you have the control unit (not the ptz controller) then you might get it to work. but if you dont have the control unit that comes with the camera. then you are best buying a new ptz its cheaper.

    CCTV Cameras Grainy Picture

have you just installed your Dedicated Micros or is this something that has happend in time.
  20. Hi EOD. just trying to talk someone though installing 1 ptz is hard enough over the forum. but you have a mix of ptzs. your best thing is to get a local guy in who knows ptzs. it will save you money in the end run.

    Avermedia with AV8180

Hi yes it will only use 4 channels of the dvr. it will not do panoramic. another camera to look at is the mobotix q24
  24. Hi. Atomicmule. you are not the only person who is having problems with the maplins crap. i think they will pay out before you get them to court. a good replacment would be the avermedia eb3004 net. it will do everything you need.
  25. Hi redjoe. not much you can do with how the swann usb operates. (factory set) but what i would do is get hold of a external H/D for your laptop and have all your dvr files go to that. this will free up your laptop H/D
