the avermedia EXR is a good little unit and as of 30th july it is even better with its new updates. and with you using the two top of the range sanyo cameras it will beat the Nuuo hands down. unlike the nuuo you do not need to buy a licence for your cameras. and unlike nuuo you can now run your sanyos at full res. EXR6004 support IP camera resolution up to 1600x1200(MJPEG) or 1280x1024 (MPEG4) 1. Support IP camera motion detection 2. Support motion recording 3. Support import / export function in the system setup for easy use 4. Support 3 different default playback mode for easy use

tomcctv replied to Sloper's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Gotcha. Any recommendations would be good. How about an AVermedia NV3000L? Would one of these work with software of my choice? And be sure to recognise my camera? Thanks Soundy HI sloper. yes the aver is a good card. and its own software will run your camera........... its not your camera that is the problem your camera will work on any dvr or card (except ebay crap) -
Camera not recognised?
tomcctv replied to Sloper's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi. your problems are ebay rubbish. start off with crap and you will always have crap. -
that is a very old B/w micromark 1 camera cctv. and the fence part is an extra sensor. Maxicam PIR floodlight, hidden CCTV camera in a PIR floodlight, black & white picture, plugs into your aerial system via a suuplied modulator (optional) to view on any connected TV, 120 degree PIR sensor detects movement and switches lights ON for approx, 4 minutes (automatic nighttime only), remotecontrol keyfob temporarily switches floodlight ON to see the camera view at night-time, 300watt lamp, 17mts of cable and key fob. Product Code : MM40012 a cheap lasser pen will sort it out

see the two spotlights you have right infront of the ir. just cover them up at night to see if they are reflecting some ir back into camera.

IP Camera Wireless Connection to DVR?
tomcctv replied to jackdf's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
jackdf. you are best getting a pro company in to do your install. first off your dvr is just basic/ no ip/ so that need changing first of all (thats the first lot of money wasted) it also sounds like you have never done ip before. but you wont protect your install with that dvr. -
Hi rocketpig. the simple way would be to use a sanyo HD. this will give you all the options you need plus full HD on your monitors. the only other part you need is HDMI expander to feed each of your monitors. VCC-HD4000P.
-
Hi wiggum. can you tell use what size power supply you have volts and amps. also at night can you see the ir glowing on your camera. in your photo it looks like it is not on at all. and also i would run a coax to the camera and use your cat5 for power as it is a short run and this will take away the baluns just in case they are faulty. (remember some cheap baluns are just connectors)

Please recommend a mobotix camera. Picture of house included
tomcctv replied to USA Ed's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
the mobotix is a good camera when used in the right location. and the porch area on the ops photo is no good for a mobotix m12. it will not cover both entrances at the same time (not that close to the camera) and the lighting will also be a problem. i have used mobotix for a long time and like i say they have there place. and people say these cameras are high end cameras (only in price) there are better cameras that wipe the floor with mobotix in video quality and frame rate. 1 being the sanyo HD. SANYO VCC-HD3300P Full-HD 1080p Dual-Stream Day/Night Vandal-Resistant Varifocal, 4 Mega Pixel Dome Network Camera Focus Assist Drive - for dramatically easier installation,True Day/Night (ICR),5 Levels Picture quality,Electronic focus adjustment with focus assist and SD card backup. -

Please recommend a mobotix camera. Picture of house included
tomcctv replied to USA Ed's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi usa ed. before you install a mobotix you will have to think on how you are going to record all 8 cameras and are they all going to be ip. it is expensive to go full ip and like rory says you can get just as much protection from standard cameras. so first start with how you are going to save the footage ??? -
Hi sueum. you might find you will get much better picture quality if you use a motion detect flood light. he is also some info on ir lights. http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/IR60-100.pdf

Please recommend a mobotix camera. Picture of house included
tomcctv replied to USA Ed's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi usa ed. i think that looking at your pictures you are wasting your money installing a mobotix. as good as mobotix are were you intend to install one it would be better with using axis. and also you could install 2 or 3 axis for the cost of a mobotix. looking at your picture. you have thick posts infront of were you are going to have the camera pointing and thats going to make 20-30% of your image usless. do you use a dvr or are you going to link to pc ??? -
i would go with the company with the best support and Avtech is 1000 times better than securematic. they is alot of support on this forum for avtech do a search for scorpion. then do a search on this site for support from securematric. they dont even give you the basic as a telephone number or address. http://www.scmatic.com/ always look for support.

NVR with spot/split screen output
tomcctv replied to Anthony A.'s topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
AVerMedia DVR cards support IP without separate license. Number of IP cams is limited depending on card used. The 16 camera cards also allow for configuration of which cameras get placed on the monitor out feed, e.g. watch cams in grids of 4, 9, or 16 cameras, a single camera, 1 largish image and 7 small ones etc. (see below for the TV OUT set-up page of this function on a NV6240 16 camera card). This card will support up to 16 cameras in total of which up to 16 may be IP cameras without the need to pay for a separate license. NJD The spot out on Avermedia cards is ONLY for analog cams. Will not output IP cameras. Hi bpzle. 7.7 does let you pick ip on tv out i have a spot monitor showing 4 sanyo ip. and also on the new cards you have 3 vga progamable outputs (ooppps sorry you might not have these in the US yet) -
Can I add LED Illuminator to exisiting Dome camera?
tomcctv replied to stuspick's topic in Security Cameras
Ah true, makes sense. I'll give it try and see how it goes. before you damage a good camera no it will not work. first does your camera turn B/w at night ??? then you are going to get bad picture quality in the day from feed back from your leds from the dome. as your leds will be on 24/7. then the range of your ir. the one posted is 5m ..... how high is your camera -
Ditch the car and get one of these. also earn money from google.

Make cctv channel in a building.
tomcctv replied to highjoke's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
this will only work if all 6 tv are on the same arial to use a rf modulator. if you can get coax to each tv then you will only need a 4in 8 out splitter amp if they are not on the same arial.
