    I need a cctv expert

Hi steve. this manual may help you. http://www.norbain.com/downloads/manuals/2050_WP.pdf
  3. the best test you can do on your existing coax is to use one of these. this will tell you if your cable is damaged.
  4. you need to see each adaptor in com port. cash reg 1 com2 cash reg 2 com3 and so on. you need a serial adapter that you can pick up in com ports. and not all will do that. or if your cash reg are on a network use utp tcp settings (only on 7.7 software) which aver are you using ???
  5. just a thought. if you install your camera with cat5 then when the bell is pushed your camera will flash up on your aver though the i/o input. and if using 7.7 software will also take snapshot.
  6. if you knew how many people have problems installing cards only to find they have not seated the cards right. as for leaving documentation for your customer. everything is now on a help screen on all avers. (help or how to button) what info do you need and i will send it to you.
  7. Hi robert. for single camera jobs i use one of these. it has a built in sd card and full internet viewing with sound it saves on keeping a laptop or pc on 24/7.
  8. Hi brian. are you seeing your serial adaptor in your com port set up ??? some adaptors will not do the job this is why aver recommend moxa eaither usb or rs485. as the software is built in
  9. yes you can use your existing cat5 1 pair for each monitor or just add a amplifier to your existing coax

    recomend a dvr card for..

i would go for the nv7240 it does alot more than the GV.
  12. The inclusion of a manual that did not list the card in question was just a further aggrevation on top of the refurbished ripoff. However I just might take your advice and contact Aver support to ask them just how firmly I need to press the NV8416 pcie x4 card into a pcie x1 slot. the manual does not list the card in question...........yes it does ........EVa i dont understand your problem. are you having problems on how to build a system.
  13. Hi chaos. were are you getting your data from i.e poll display or printer. and you will need the pos box.
  14. you might find it better to go power / video / audio over single coax this way is good for 500m
  15. AT 150m you need a amplifier (not a standard tv type)
  16. JC322 is right its not hard to get the manual. here it is in pdf http://www.cctvengineer.com/NV_series_Manual_EN_v7.7.pdf
  17. On good faith I had my client purchase two of these cards. I would not have recommended them if I had known they were refurbished with only a one year warranty instead of two. So much for the faith in their repairs! I do know how to download the latest software thank you:) When I receive an open boxed item that was once repaired with only half the warranty period and no user manual pertaining to the item I would declare that outright fraud PERIOD!!! And no I haven't talked to them yet as I am bundling it up and returning it along with cancelling the Visa charge upon proof of return. if your client purchased the cards how do you know he was not offered referb cards. to save costs. and as you have stated you have not spoken to cctv mega yet. i think you need to talk with the company before you accuse them of fraud.
  18. CCTV mega store are a good company. have you talked to them about your problem ??? and all avers use the same software so no problem there but i would run 7.7 if you need a copy i will send you one.
  19. this will be your problem. max run for cctv 100m. you will need to add a booster to get to 200m He just said there's no problem with that setup... you would not see a problem when using a dvd player as he has said as a dvd player has a much stronger signal. you will not get a cctv output to run 200m without a amplifier.

    NJ Licensing

Hi Tom. it may be time consuming and costly but having cctv installers licencened is a good thing. and will pay in the end. i take it you only lay the cables for other cctv companys and this is why you need the licence. but looking at your existing buisness you are telecoms. this is also a buisness that is changing dramatically with the groth of internet phone systems and cctv is also in its ip systems is also a part of this so it could be a update to your existing buisness to get the licence. (a buisness always needs to move forward)
  23. Hi scorpion. your info for avtech support on your site is very good and as you can see from the likes of alexa and statbrian you also get a high number of hits. just in the last 3 months your site has gone up 17%. you have put alot of work into your site and you supply even better info than avtech. and at the end of the day you are helping avtech customers and you should be payed by avtech. with that many hits to your site i would look at advertising space (starting with avtech) but dont shut it down.
