Hi msw1090. yes it is feasible. but can you let us know what level of protection you need. (what will you be monitoring) you can go for a system like listed above but you will be buying cheap and unbranded (no back-up ) and as far as the last post yes you can go ip (will give you good FOV) than standard cameras. take a look at axis cameras in the camera demo site on this forum.

Absolute least expensive one or 4 channel DVR you have found
tomcctv replied to SEANHAWG's topic in Digital Video Recorders
you could find a nice very cheap unit. but you will only end up loosing a customer and also problems. if you are a installer you should know what the least you would install. and do its job. i install avtech or avers as budget 4 ways if your customer does not want to pay that much just walk away -
Spanish to English translation. The sale of alarms and surveillance cameras in Spain has increased 33 percent between 2008 and 2010, with Madrid's city with the highest demand for devices with C-7 Security as one of the leading companies in the sector. Most of the clients of C-7 Security is only seeking control of their homes and businesses, despite that 80% percent of these already had an alarm system. Similarly, the second reason to buy devices with image is 'strengthen' the safety .. HI Tom. Do you think that with Cnb S2265N Outdoor PTZ, Cnb VBM-24VF fixed dome, HDF1212 - CNB 4 Channel H.264 Dvr I'm building a good system ? yes you will be building a good system. but all that equipment will cost more than your budget stated.
-
Hi. gif. the prices you have quoted are below trade prices. a good system just does not exist for that money. build your system over time if you are on a budget - start with a good dvr then add cameras when you can. i can post a link for cheap stuff but why waste your money.

looking to set up CCTV cameras at my new shop
tomcctv replied to kiaanx's topic in General Analog CCTV Discussion
The store isn't the biggest therefore i'm only looking for 3 cameras but it does need to be viewable from home. i haven't really set a budget but i'm looking for as cheap as possible. in the cctv industry cheap is short for it will not do the job. its ok looking at monitors but the most important is getting good footage from the system (footage you can use) so its not cheap you are looking for its a budget system http://www.avermedia.com/AVerDiGi/Product/Detail.aspx?id=252 -

Wanting To Move Up A Notch in Quality
tomcctv replied to FarmerCharlie's topic in General Digital Discussion
That was what I expected too before I bought it, but I have not been able to get higher resolution or frame rates. The best I can get is 7 FPS at 352x240 or 3FPS at 720x480. I guess that could be partly because of the computer; I don't know how much CPU time the card uses for the compression, but the CPU usage is usually less than 70% with both the DVR card and the two instances of WME running. In general, do the stand-alone DVR boxes tend to perform better than the cards? Hi farmercharlie. the nv3000 is a very basic and slow card. it depends on how many cameras you need if you wish to move up a notch. after looking at your footage i can see why you need real time. a friend of mine has just installed the same thing in scotland for people to watch remote at the birds. he has 15fps. you might want to update your viewing software to see if you get a better frame rate as that car can do better than the frames you have. if you need the software just pm me. -
Hi crosen. another dvr/nvr to have a look at is the avermedia. being a technology intergrator going ip would be the best way. this is a first for avers. small 4 way nvr to intergrate with any software and supports most ip cameras without the need to buy licences. http://www.avermedia.com/AVerDiGi/Product/Detail.aspx?id=203
