  1. Hi … since you don’t have to bury the cable it is still uv protected ……. If you did bury it still needs to come up to camera location i did say in first post it’s used wildly because it’s tough and stands up to all applications Quick fit rj45…… been out a few years I would not use them for outdoor use … for basic diyer with no network tools you can look back over the forum …..lorex rj45 plugs are troublesome…… condensation tends to be the problem and your rj45 link is just another way to get a short with conductors exposed at each end $120 just for shipping of cable But ok to use easy rj45 also a warning with using those connectors some switches have a steel plate on the inside were you insert plug at the back ….. not a problem with standard rj45 …… can also happen on some testers
  2. infact coaxitrom was a protocol in its own right even before hikvision was in business modern day data up coax is now standard protocol…. Pelco D or P and even generic protocol if supported by the camera you can check the commands via the tvi menu
  3. Hi. Stranded cat cable should never be used for anything else other than patch leads cctv will not work on stranded cat infact nothing will on long runs also not regulations But it does sound like you are ok with putting used secondhand tires on your $50.000 car This is why direct burial cat5e suitable for uv also wet cold snow heat 95% of pro installers use it
  4. You can still use data over coax you need to change your protocol baud rate you might also have a link pin in your ptz is it analog or analog tvi cvi ahd
  5. Ok I’m wrong ….. not coax control is only data up coax just the same as rs485 hikvision -c is hik own protocol and as your using a no name ptz you don’t have full control so your best using the standard protocol and baud rate and address
  6. Hi even with just being a zoom camera it still needs an address or a dedicated channel either way both cameras need data to operate there functions and if both cameras have the same settings that gives problems so what are the settings of your ptz ?
  7. Hi … ok why do you think cat6 is better the lorex is point to point no large data traffic plus nvr is not gigabyte ….. so no point your installing a camera system not a network hub also the reason a recommend cat5e direct burial is the durability….. you can’t tell any difference between that and standard cat5 but it will extend the life of your cable in all elements…. Above ground and under
  8. Hi could be a number of things you say you have two ptz cameras do you know the address of both cameras along baud rate of each camera also the protocol of each
  9. Hi. No need for cat6 …. Cat5e is more than enough for cctv i would look at cat5e direct burial in black it is good for all applications and will last years the only thing you need to look out for is aluminium copper coated ….. in most countries it is not in regulation to use so buy from a local company cat5e pure copper buying from eBay or Amazon could give you problems in either coated or undersized conductors where are you located

Hi it depends on which unit you have …. Which app do you use for remote viewing
  18. Hi sounded ok till you mentioned reolink with a budget camera you might be best and cheaper for you to use a WD cloud box hidden at same location as camera never understand why people only want off site storage ….. only takes phone line or cable to be disconnected then renders your system useless….. cloud is good as second backup ….. nvrs are cheap for local storage and still works if network goes down so two options WD cloud unit …… only purchase cost and no ongoing charges https://www.westerndigital.com/en-gb/products/cloud-storage/wd-my-cloud-home#WDBVXC0020HWT-EESN or sign up to something like ibm cloud ….. but I think the price will put you off https://www.ibm.com/cloud/free?utm_content=SRCWW&p1=Search&p4=43700067990372921&p5=p&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-pap4L3U9QIVlWDmCh0W4ALAEAAYASABEgKMHfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
  19. Hi. Yes there are a few reliable ones but is it a 3rd party cloud you need ? the costs are massive and also depends on amount of cameras and storage size will this cloud service be the only storage you will be using?

    Lack authority message

Hi govision is a cheap rebadged unit from a crowd in Manchester it could be an old hikvision or a xmeye generic unit do you know which app it used
  21. Menu 3 times …. Turn wheel to right then enter code then pick time date BUT setting time a date at this stage will not allow internet connection 2005 a few software licences have ran out by now ….. this is why I say don’t do date and time dvr and pc must both be in dvr service date ( a time when licences are valid) dvr and pc need to have date set to around 2006 to 2010 2003 to 2009 DVRs need. wave reader On pc to talk with dvr
  22. Your the one that came on to forum to ask questions …… no one’s fault if you don’t like the answers Yes your absolutely right ….. BUT only to 2010 units ….. yours is 2005 so different compression so makes it a proprietary system …….. useless for law enforcement…….. plus only a cif unit no one is going to be interested in a 2005 dvr or even bother wasting money on digital cameras only to use the analog side…… as your unit won’t run modern cameras
  23. On a dvr that is years old 2005 you want to pay for navigator for a 2005 dvr … it does not even have drivers for navigator True Vision Navigator ver. 5.0 2010 & later and only supports cif 2010 ….. your 2005 so not compatible

    Splitting poe camera signal

Wow a salesman who knows nothing about what he sells …. No wonder you have to spam forums to sell your crap and your bad advice 420 480tvl cameras have not been sold in over 10 years and we now talk mega pixel not tvl your website states business network solutions in Canada ….. yet you can’t answer original post right so you also need to work on that Hi yes it can be done ….. have the switch give camera its iP and use that to call camera to each location
  25. Yes but it’s a 4 channel….. so not success software hardware is 2005 ….. can’t run new cameras on it also uses its own compression don’t take the negative side …. Look at it as not wasting your time
