Cat5/ Cat6 connector to Dvr pin

like soundy says it can start to get expensive to upgrade your pc. and your other problem is BUYING a card from ebay. you will spend more on cards than on your pc till you get one that sort of works from ebay. if you are just running 2 cameras then just buy a budget named dvr http://www.avermedia.com/AVerDiGi/Product/Detail.aspx?Id=151 this will cost you less than upgrading your pc.

tomcctv replied to ronbo's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
the pic you have posted has rolling on it (you can see the start of it in top left corner) this looks like a power problem. what power are you putting to your ptz and how and how long is the run ??? -

which DVR-EB1304NET or Intellicam G4-HD-E?
tomcctv replied to cameranut's topic in Digital Video Recorders
they are 2 types of eb1304 net. look for the eb1304 net sata. and heat will not be a problem. the aver is a better spec by far than the intellicam g4 as this is a low res cif recording and the aver is full D1. also remote viewing from any mobile phone / smartphone/pda/iphone/mobile windows.and laptop. -
Hi guy. ip cameras will give you the best image pos. but at night they have draw backs. for a 20m x 20m unit i would use a hybrid system to have ip indoors and standard hi res cameras with ir lighting outdoors and 1 ptz to cover the carpark. i will pm you a demo.
-
axis are far from budget side. but do you need to go ip. it depends on what you want your system for and how you wish to use it. i.e 8 external cameras. you could cut the cost down with 4 ip and 2 ptz cameras. less cameras more coverage. i would look at a hybrid system so you can mix standard and ip. and also this gives you the dvr to record which is better than using one of your works pc. i am sure you will get a lot of help on here if you can tell us what you are protecting. i.e car lot/pertrol station/office.

Can anybody identify this IP camera please?
tomcctv replied to swampguinnie's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Is that right Tom, they will not give an installer any info? Ilkie yes thats right. mobotix would like installers to learn about there cameras. you cant buy direct from derby mobotix. and if you intend to use mobotix then i would say go to a training day. mayflex is the main uk outlet for mobotix. -

That is another problem. mobotix in derby uk will not give you any info. you will have to talk with a distributor. and you have had 3 distributors on here give you good advice. -
this has a 2 week waiting list the new ip from axis nice and small. AXIS M7001 can deliver two simultaneous video streams, one in H.264 and another in Motion JPEG, at full frame rate in all resolutions up to D1 (720x480 in NTSC, 720x576 in PAL). The H.264 video compression format drastically reduces bandwidth and storage requirements without compromising image quality. Motion JPEG is supported for increased flexibility. The video encoder also provides video motion detection. AXIS M7001 is powered over Ethernet using the same cable as for data transmission, which simplifies installation. AXIS M7001 Covert Surveillance Kit The video encoder can feed power to the small covert camera that is included in the AXIS M7001 Covert Surveillance Kit. The surveillance kit consists of one AXIS M7001 Video Encoder and one small IP66-rated covert camera.

Help with small 2 camera system
tomcctv replied to BlueFire's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
its a neat camera for sure, their whole line is pretty amazing, but its a little out of my budget. it will be cheaper than 2 ip cameras plus you dont need a pc for storage of footage. it has sd card onboard. so 2 ip cameras 1 pc against 1 all in one camera. and install costs mobotix 20mins and installed -

tomcctv replied to swampguinnie's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
i think you will be buying an expensive dummy camera. without the ip username / camera id you will not get it to work unless you know the company that installed it. and to have the camera re flashed (can only be done by mobotix) will cost you £350-£400 and with that cost and the auction price you could buy a new one. oh and you will also need the software and licence it would have been on a disk with camera. (free) if this is not with the camera add another £100 -

tomcctv replied to swampguinnie's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
yes i have sent one back for reset £150. now for the bad news Do not buy from auction site. the uk has many of these cameras up and down the country and 5 to 10 are stolen each week. and you can not get them working they are locked down to the network they are on. and this will also show up at mobotix. -
you would be best to pm scorpion on the forum he eats avtech for breakfast. but it sounds to me when you set your dvr up you have set your recording to cif (this is the lowest for your dvr) you need to adjust this for the future. to a higher res but it will eat into your storage. also how did you do the back-up (on usb memory or over the lan)

Hi Marcel. yes this is good for avermedia also the q24. a few things to look at before you buy a secondhand mobotix. you need the passwords. also all the original paperwork or you will not get it working and it will need to go back to mobotix. and this has a cost. for a reset. if you need the ip patch for avermedias to run mobotix then please just pm me. -

This is going to be another good long running post. whos idea is it to use Nitrogen Pressurized Cameras. because you dont want to use wipers. WIPERS are on the outside of the camera. so if you are in a enviroment that needs wipers you will still need them. it might be better if you post your contractors plan. a 200 camera system needs very good planning. things like redwall sensors alarm inputs and whos software are you going to use. does it have a good cms software. like your monitor wall a great deal of thought needs to go into it. to watch 200 cameras you will need at least 16 monitors (12 cameras on each) then extra for alarm alerts (another 2 at least) and i would also use nvrs. having 200 cameras going back to a server in the security room does not make the system secure i would use a few nvrs around the complex (if the security office gets hit everything goes off) its going to be interesting reading comments on this post. -
