  1. This is going to be another good long running post. whos idea is it to use Nitrogen Pressurized Cameras. because you dont want to use wipers. WIPERS are on the outside of the camera. so if you are in a enviroment that needs wipers you will still need them. it might be better if you post your contractors plan. a 200 camera system needs very good planning. things like redwall sensors alarm inputs and whos software are you going to use. does it have a good cms software. like your monitor wall a great deal of thought needs to go into it. to watch 200 cameras you will need at least 16 monitors (12 cameras on each) then extra for alarm alerts (another 2 at least) and i would also use nvrs. having 200 cameras going back to a server in the security room does not make the system secure i would use a few nvrs around the complex (if the security office gets hit everything goes off) its going to be interesting reading comments on this post.
  2. its a mobotix. and a very good camera.

    Newbie Help

Hi benny. start with this link. and ask if they have a distributor near you. or ask rory. but googling giovision is a waste of time. they are so many clone cards about it is just not worth it. but you are not going to buy cheap cards. pro equipment like geovision are one of the leaders and worth spending money. good for you and also your customer to have there support. http://www.usavisionsys.com/index.php

  13. sounds like you are entering your set-up with a user password. you need to enter the admin password to have full control. or you have not stopped your dvr from recording. before you can change the settings.
  14. to mix and match your old cameras with new and also ip then i would take a look at the avermedia http://www.avermedia-usa.com/surveillance/productdetail.aspx?id=66 also you can now try the software for 30 days. see link and have a play. http://www.avermedia-usa.com/surveillance/AVerMediaTrialsoftware.aspx

    Newbie Residential Question

the dvr listed is only cif recording. the higher the cif the better or D1. gives you much better video quality. So what is the difference in “potential” quality of CIF vs. 4CIF? Resolution quantifies only how close pixels or lines can be to each other and still be visibly resolved. A 4CIF image “can” potentially produce a better quality image then a CIF image because the more pixels used to represent an image; the closer the result can resemble the original. and this is the main thing you look for when buying a dvr. and the price of the system you listed you can buy a good 4 channel d1 dvr.

    Newbie Residential Question

i would look at something better. the recording is crap. plus its a no name. take alook at avtech or the avermedia eb1304 sata. both are very good little units and both have good back-up. the cameras on the site you listed are good i.e cnb http://www.cctvsecuritypros.com/1sosuhadccd.html ideal for watching your yard.

    FPS question on NV5000

i have also moved away from 7.7 and i buy my dvrs built from avers. 7.7 works well with the remote imatrix software from avers it has some good features on it
  18. Hi jason. the dvr you have listed is cif recording very bottom range so i would say buy better. if you are not bothered about recording outside then take a look at the mobotix Q24 or if that is a bit over your price then i would recommend this http://www.avermedia-usa.com/surveillance/productdetail.aspx?id=18 with 3 internal cameras and 1 external at the front. and if you stay with a brand name dvr you will have a good back-up service and having that alone will save you $$$
