Change HDD, software in Storesafe Pro II
tomcctv replied to Arrrrgus's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. You would just be wasting your time …. 420 tvl systems finished years ago it would be cheaper to buy a new dvr you can’t burn off to a usable method no internet connection submitting CD to law enforcement is not an option used anymore -
Swann PoE NVR with BNC Dome Cam... Possible?
tomcctv replied to RiffRaffRetro's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi it is possible but you will need an encoder which will cost a few 100 so it’s cheaper to just buy another iP camera instead us you willl need the cost of a power supply for your analog camera -
Use smartphone to testing IP CAMERA
tomcctv replied to aljahwari_89's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Not going to work just wasting your money…… your note 10 has no way of converting the data to get video….. you would also need the manufacturers app you can get the image that way but only over a network either buy a dedicated iP camera tester …. Which will also power your cameras over Poe or use an old net gear wireless router and a power pack and the app that supports the camera a iP camera is data out ….. don’t get confused with video out -
Poe system questions
tomcctv replied to 1animal1's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi any resolution 2-3-6-8mp can be colour but the more resolution the less effective it is. hikvision have there own data stream H265+ for the iP cameras and once at 6 or 8mp they recommend switching to h265 or h264 ….. h265 is standard in the industry h265+ is hikvision down …. Yet there own cameras proform badly yes you want colour at night ….. no camera will do this for you all cameras like starlight and colour view need a light source the one you have listed has white light built in and must be on all the time at night which gives your camera location away from the start. if you have seen the uk videos you will notice in one of them ….. light is always on at the back of the camera (shadows of trees in pictures) which are behind the camera so the video is very misleading they don’t work in complete darkness -
Poe system questions
tomcctv replied to 1animal1's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi with the part number ….. that is a very expensive fixed lens 4k camera trade prices between £140 and £190….. that is just not worth it. The cost reflects its Ai ability which is pointless for home use….. and also not for commercial….. in uk it can’t be installed in public systems or government locations take a look at TVT much better than hik also one of the best system app that gives you full control over your system remotely also do you need 4K in all your locations …. Same with audio ….. as both will eat your storage up if 4K and audio on every channel how many cameras are you looking at installing Yes your absolutely right lan connection for router connect for remote viewing or logging in with a pc local I am also in the uk -
Poe system questions
tomcctv replied to 1animal1's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi running data over your home network can slow your network down and 4K will 4k nvr POE will not …. As far as networking nvr or alarm …. Use existing lan for nvr and use a tp-link network plugs for alarm (lan over existing house electrics) much cheaper than using switches Not over your network but you can run a cat6 from nvr to main tv and use hdmi adapter for video and mouse control Hikvision is only well known because mass sold by everyone and also China copies… there software is old and they also did a firmware update 8 days ago to incorporate Ai which hik store …… but I already see a problem ….. the camera you list is not a hikvision part number so your buying from unauthorised dealer it depends on your budget and where your based -
Poe system questions
tomcctv replied to 1animal1's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Yes you can but could limit you if the recorder is not at same location hikvision would not be my choice there is much better out there your airing cupboard sounds like the ideal place to place your nvr and also will limit your costs as most nvrs are Poe ….. so would only need the lan for router connection ….. you could also run cat6 to main to for viewing and control -
LS VISION Wi-Fi PTZ camera with no QR code needed to connect
tomcctv replied to thesteve's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi and this is your problem …… to use that app you have to register P2P with the China server or it won’t work….. there app does the port forwarding on your network so if already used the last owner can have access but you can’t -
LS VISION Wi-Fi PTZ camera with no QR code needed to connect
tomcctv replied to thesteve's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Not worth bothering with …… if already used then the qr code is useless to you …… the last owner would of already registered the qr code and the P2P connection (which is needed) also it’s not a ptz …… needs waking up to activate ……. And additional cloud costs -

tomcctv replied to Shivaramkar's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Hi. How many cameras are you displaying -
3629 two numbers are missing
-
Hi. You need to go into settings and turn off privacy settings for that camera …. Also found under masking settings
-
Hi sounds like your IR filter is stuck ….. give the camera a tap or switch camera off and on a couple of times ……. Best doing these in daytime

Hi many people have problems with 5 iP cameras with the nano so 8 your pushing it …. You might have to drop the camera resolution to help the data push but I think you would be better and less cost if you alter your install design….. and I say this for two reasons first if a power cut at camera side you will loose valuable footage …… all 8 cameras will need to reboot once battery backup takes over …. Can take 5 to 10 minutes second …. It’s not very secure….. knock out the nano and again no footage i would also move your nvr to camera location If nanos go down you still have footage Also with nvr at camera location you don’t have to worry about data size as much as you sending data only from nvr to laptop in monitoring location then you only need ups backup for nvr and nano …….. this will also extend your battery backup time
-
Hi. Wi-Fi systems are just toys and never work right plus go out of date quick for the distance your talking about standard iP cameras are better either wired or use existing mains power supply at each location and turn that into a data signal
-
Can it not be done with a nvr ….. and then sort the remote access
-
Hi. Are all 4 cameras at the same location? lots of farmers in uk are looking for the same solution ….. we are playing with a full standalone camera at the moment ……. HD ….. 7 month battery time…… night vision…… over 4g network

tomcctv replied to masticman's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions

Changed router and app has stopped working
tomcctv replied to masticman's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. What happens if you make two devices on your app ……..one with local iP and the other external IP address also on the vodafone side you said full fiber this is a completely different setup and requires going into router settings how is your router connected to incoming either phone filter to router and then network cable out to dvr or bt fiber box with network cable going direct into router on green and yellow plug -
PTZ Not working on Panasonic WJ-HD316A
tomcctv replied to stagdata's topic in Digital Video Recorders
18 months ago I put 2 systems in the bin That would just be wasting money your dvr is too old to run todays cameras ….. first it records in cif … very poor resolution…. Plus no apps or windows support…. Then you also have the burn off problem …. No one uses cd anymore I would learn about systems first (buy once and be happy) your first mistake is thinking of wireless ptz -
PTZ Not working on Panasonic WJ-HD316A
tomcctv replied to stagdata's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. I know this is something you don’t want to hear but you just have a cif analog recorder and dome cameras ….. all around 15 years old even your camera picture shows it’s not a ptz…… as you can see in your picture you have two thumb screws on your lens ….. one is zoom other is focus….. so are manually set only ….. the little motor also on the side of the lens is for lens iris nothing to do with moving the head and the dead giveaway that you have a fixed head camera is cable connections ….. one lead 12v/24v and one bnc ……. No control wire rs485 -
Then your problem might be you don’t have admin control over your system the SuperLive system can be fixed remotely mid installer set it up right if you want me to fix your system I can do but I would need some details …… no charge were are you based
