when installing ptz cameras it is always best to stay with brand names. anyone can put a good spec sheet next to a camera on ebay. most installers use one type of ptz. the reason for this is it has taken ages to find good quality / good spec / and most of all reliability. pm me and i will send you the spec of the camera i have used for years.
-
no point spending good money after bad. i have seen these cameras before and the spec you have posted is not the camera from ebay. first the pics on the add (car 300m away) with that lens listed in spec the car could be 1/2 mile away and get a good picture. you can get a new camera to fit your ptz but it will cost more than what you paid for the ptz in the first place.

your router has a setting for static ip but you have to have a static ip from your isp and they do make a small charge for this. also your IT guy should know this.

or he can even just run 18awg wire for the power, like lamp cord wire which is cheap. Hi Rory just out of interest what is the price you pay for RG59 were you are for say 100m also cat5 300m
-
for the distance you are doing i would use RG59 with power. cat5 can give many problems if not used right. the main faults i find with other installers problems are they have stripped the cable to much at each end leaving long tails or they have un twisted the cable at the end. (keep the twist right up to the balun)

tomcctv replied to jmoore's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
yes you are right you havent done this sort of thing before and you wont do it for £40 ($80) -
yes this has been a problem with all sa and nv when loaded new software. what remote software do you need. if you are talking about cms3000 you will need a licence
-
it has always been a problem. why avermedia has not changed it i dont no. once you get over 8 channels then you have full control over the monitor out. this has always been the same on both the nv and sa dvrs

CPcam CPD505 does not work and produces a sound like "beep"
tomcctv replied to Betokoch's topic in Digital Video Recorders
the beeping is a warning for your cooling fan not working. you need to change the fan. your system will not start till you do. -
HELP! DVR card capture software
tomcctv replied to ei0675's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi shane. that is right the software need to load onto your C:/ -
nv 6480. you go to system then back-up and down load footage or go to intel search and click on how many hrs you need. (you click on each hr once and the last hr click on twice) then use segment. You can use the back-up system to back up hours, not minutes. It does not allow you to put in specific times, nor does it allow you to export anything. You just get the native .dv files, not the exported .avi files like you get with the segment export feature. The "intelligent search" function only searches. It does not back anything up. So, unless I miss-understanding you here... I still don't see how I could make an .avi of an event that took place from 10:55 to 11:05. Matt yes you are missing a big part. intelligent seach. you can break it down to week then day then hour. once you have got to hour click on 10 oclock once then click on 11 oclock twice. the segment your footage then click export.

yellow cable ???? yellow is video white or red is a audio. did you make the leads or did they come with system ???
-
not enough power for switch over from day to night. 12v +-10% is from 12v you are using 11v also your amps are more important. get a new power unit 12v 1amp.
-
Hi Matt what system are you using. and you can connect with a crossover cable.
-
dont know who you spoken to at aver but it can be done. you are using segment cut there are two other ways for burning footage. use your remote software it gives you more options.
-
ok you have 5 psu 1 to each camera ???? and they are 1amp. do you have ir on the cameras ?? what type are they

please stay away from maplins. i remove 2 systems a month from customers who have installed there own from maplins. i.e down load problems/ cameras very poor. and you are thinking wireless (lucky if it works in london) your budget is your budget so i recommend the link below. if you have a window by were you need the camera then i would fitt this just outside your window. it beats maplins by miles. http://www.espuk.com/intro_guardcam.htm

this is a power problem. how many cameras and what size power supply are you using. take all cameras out of power unit and connect 1 at a time to another power supply and see what happends. but you are loosing the negitive side of your power supply. some cheap power units get hot and the soildering on the terminals come loose.

no the eb1304 sata can not do that. but the sa 5000 can but you cant buy this in america. i will pm you a link to a demo
-
yes rory the playback is a bit slow on the eb. but have you tried the new seb 1304 full D1 on all channels and its mouse controlled. it might take longer for the new dvrs to get to you on your hot all year round island. (what i would not give to be hot all year round )
-
the eb comes with vga and bnc output for viewing if you connect the bnc output to a rf box to your home tv aerial then the images will show on tvs or if you tv has a vga input then it will connect directly to you tv.
-
Can you elaborate on the "tv" part of that sentence. I do not know if the user will be interested in this, but I'm curious about how it is done. on any tv and pc.............. if connected to a router and rf box (bnc output) to aerial. http://www.avermedia-usa.com/surveillance/uploads//productimages/EB1304NETSATAds.pdf Do you know if there is a PDF of the manual available anywhere?

you can add upto what ever your dvr i.e 4 way = 4 ptz 16=16ptz but not with your usb converters as the dvr only had 3/4 usb. and if you loose powe then all your com ports will change and you will need to reset every time if you use a rs485 to rs232 converter (you only need 1) take a look at the moxa. is the best way.
