I can’t see any coax in your picture going to power supply. camera end ..... how is cable connected to camera
-
So at the camera end you only have cat5 your coax is it two cables joined together?
-
Ok looks like coax to cameras ..... that power unit is a old alarm supply .... not powerful enough so that will also have to be changed Is this for home use or business
-
Ok can you post a pick of cables into the vms and cables to power supply
-
Hi. Yes sounds like you are right problem with kits is the power supply is too small ( if you look at your psu) it is likely to be a 2amp Also with using pigtails you only need 1 camera to have a fault and it affects the rest best type of power supply to use is separate channel power supply there not expensive
-
Hi. we’re are you based I’ll post you some links for your location sounds like you could use a HD analog system with your existing cables
-
Yes it sounds like an old vcr with using a vms how many cameras do you have also the cat5 how is it connected to coax what is your budget going to be
-
Hi. That must be an old system to be using one of those you don’t have a recorder connected at the moment ?

Looking for replacement POE IP cables for cams
tomcctv replied to DarrenA's topic in Security Cameras
Hi. The T series does not support poe what cable are you looking for one to connect from camera to network or a replacement cable that is attached to camera -
Hi ... depends on your location and how it’s connected to monitoring Crestron can either take as alarm activation and send alert to customer ( done via alarm inputs on back of nvr ) or Crestron monitoring settings in nvrs email alert setting direct to monitoring for real-time video ..... not all monitoring will take new hik connections on connection to customers tv is easy as it’s from hdmi to Crestron av distribution alread in the home ...... but you only have commands like show cctv ..... will only show all cameras on one screen and no control if you want more camera control then all cameras need to go to a switch first and then nvr So you need to look at a nvr with alarm inputs and outputs

Is ActiveX causing me to not see my cameras in App?
tomcctv replied to JVNTPA's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi can you list the app you use on tablet or mobile Active x has already done its job as it’s for remote software on your pc and adding a dvr has nothing to do with active x also can you post a link or picture of your unit -
Sorry you can’t compare Ajax to avigilon infact Ajax is limited ...... stream of snap shots and not video cant playback something you want to see .... only alerts are playback the adverts are good but don’t tell you everything quote from advert ...... can detect water leak and switch your water off ....... add does not say about extra costs for Wi-Fi enabled water valve which are not cheap ...... I haven’t had a leak in 20 years also DVRs nvrs with alarm inputs can also do the same and have done for years

Hi. A few things for you to try make sure your news recorder sub stream is not set to highest also your new recorder data could be set to h265 try using h264 ...... this depends on how old your app is ..... check if there is a update also when you added the new recorder to your pc software did you have administrator active ..... right click on app and select run as administrator -

IPVM - Hikvision was created and controlled by the CCP
tomcctv replied to ThinkPadUser2021's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
It’s not just hikvision and dahua amazon are under fire for watching 1000s of peoples ring door bell..... police are now asking for access to door bell cameras there is an easy way that could inform customers of any intrusive access to there systems because of easy P2P setup and that’s for ISP to give there customers the location of inbound ip address...... but that’s not going to happen P2P setup is the problem .... no one knows we’re there device is connecting too or what information is being collected even IPVM report is a bit inaccurate (quote) people in USA would go mad if dahua was using this tech in the USA....... yet no mention of lorex now 100% owned by dahua same software we haven’t used hikvision for past 8 years ... as we noticed on recorder logs 100s of IP address on one customers unit I have never had a system hacked but the way IOT is going no one will know at the moment for past few months I have been trying out a new ip filter box you fit it inline with recorder and you enter IP address and MAC address into the filter ... cell phone - tablet - laptop all device you want to access recorder..... and blocks everything else -

tomcctv replied to fred2021's topic in General Digital Discussion
No point jumping into posts which system do you have -
Yes I could but the problem is there cameras are made in China you are looking in the wrong direction..... it does not matter we’re the equipment is made it is which company is honest on data collection some systems like cheap smart systems from eBay or amazon are cheap in purchase like this example ptz camera from amazon ..... to your door $30 it can’t be made for $30 but it is and it’s shipped from China to US then out from distributors to customers do the math ....ptz camera. shipping costs. distribution cost and mail cost to customer all for $30 how do they make up there money, data collection....... first the camera auto sets up .... makes its own path in your router and connects to a China server (camera will not work without this) also known as P2P they collect emails .. contact details cookies ....most personal data on your home devices then the camera is collecting face snap shots of everyone and collecting that data known as association data.. if you haven’t been in the industry or bought cctv before ... recommended systems is the best way to go buy a system you have control over and it’s yours or a system that’s an information collection that you have paid for but has no control but if you are stuck on system names then the best in the industry is Avigilon ..
