Time issues with DAHUA NVR5864-4KS2
tomcctv replied to cornacum's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Ok. Your nvr was not ment for uk market Utc is not a time zone and will not set summer time. so you need to set the time on nvr to 1 hour ahead and it will become right and on the 25th October you will need to set it to right time ........ if it had gmt it would do it automatically -
Time issues with DAHUA NVR5864-4KS2
tomcctv replied to cornacum's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Click disable top right. the camera time and date is not needed if connected to a nvr ...... nvr time and date is all that’s required .....when you are searching for footage it is searching nvr time and date not the cameras camera time is only needed if using some vms software your image you posted shows year/ month/ day ...... your gmt so change to day/ month/year also you have time zone set to utp Dublin Edinburgh Lisbon.London move it down till you get to gmt Dublin Edinburgh Lisbon London and also tick DST -
Hi. Two ways of using your existing coax but nether way is cheap. HDMI modulator.......... this is the only method you can use for using tv antenna input hdmi over coax kit ........ hdmi from dvr to tv hdmi. But stay away from the cheap type or the tv image will be useless to watch both options will not give you control of your system.... view only. another option is to use no cable at all and for the same price if not cheaper than the modulator or hdmi kit is to use a apple box or android tv box ...... this is a good option as you will have control over cctv system ..... and the money spent also gives your smart tv more options

We’re are you based ..... lorex is just another trading name for dahua

Time issues with DAHUA NVR5864-4KS2
tomcctv replied to cornacum's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. You need to switch off the time on each camera and just use the nvr time display go into camera edit in menu and switch of OSD for all cameras -
Hi. Apart from the split screen are you able to go into menu? I have looked at the spec sheet for the JZTEK and it is only saying low mp. 720n / 960n /1080 can you disconnect all cameras switch off your unit connect 1 camera only to channel 1 then switch your unit back on XMeye units loose channels the higher the megapixel ..... 4 channel will only run 1 5mp 8 channel will only run 2 5mp cameras is your system on line

Hi. Why are you going to antenna input ???? hdmi to sdi will not work for you

What lightning protection for a 4 metre steel pole with 4G camera and solar panels installed?
tomcctv replied to ABS UK's topic in System Design
Ok. But you can still isolate the equipment from the pole ... either with fibreglass over the bracket areas or using plastic or rubber spacing This would also be pointless. In fact in would make your problem worse..... not that you have a problem to start with. we have lots of PTZ cameras on poles all over the uk .... not one has been hit by lightning your building a self contained pole system .... nothing leaving the pole. So nothing will protect your camera or solar from direct hit using another pole with copper or brass strike ground carrier will only give lighting more area to hit being next to another pole but if you had a strike it would only go to ground and back up the other steel pole. you don’t need to waste money -
What lightning protection for a 4 metre steel pole with 4G camera and solar panels installed?
tomcctv replied to ABS UK's topic in System Design
Hi. There is no point in any protection ... not down to ground anyway With your system being solar and 4g you have nothing leaving the pole..... no other equipment to be damaged by lightning strike via cable so I would concentrate on how to connect your equipment to a steel pole. don’t have any contact with equipment and the pole either make heavy plastic brackets to mount you equipment off the pole or another way is to fibreglass 2ft of the top of pole so as your clamps are not in contact with it use plastic boxes for your cables and one for mounting your battery in -
Hi. Lens calculators are not needed as much as used to be. for the distances your talking about standard lens are all you need 2.8 or 3.6 2.8 interior facing door 3.6 walls next to doors lens calculators were needed years ago when camera resolution was low but now it’s just FOV ( field of view)that’s important the distances your talking about a 2mp camera with 2.8 standard lens. But there is now not much price difference in going up to 4 or 5 mp or even 4K same with varifocal lens it’s now better using zoom on a high mp camera and works much better with multiple faces in image

Exterior Surveillance Camera / 1 year continuous ??
tomcctv replied to Uncle Freddy's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. You are absolutely right .... except your definition Washington state has a very strict code of practice for home use cctv. cctv can be used for security of your property and footage used in court. you can’t use footage of someone else’s property ....... it’s not classed as your security it’s just part of your cameras field of view length of footage to be held .... state of Washington the law is 31 days....... yes you can record for months but it gives problems if your showing footage 60 days ago it is still best to call into your country office and get the regulations for your area That is also right ? ...... but you answered you own question it’s our home but Watching others on there land with your camera is not watching your home -
Hi. Manual says yes via switch .... but it does not say if you can use other brands. There is no mention of onvif in its spec ..... which is a communication path for using between brands So you might only be able to use same manufacture

Exterior Surveillance Camera / 1 year continuous ??
tomcctv replied to Uncle Freddy's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. If camera is on your property and recording your property that’s fine ..... but to place a camera to monitor 24/7 someone else’s property and people you might find the law suit being on you. also take into account footage retention the DP act for your area. you are best talking to a lawyer at your local city/ town hall and get the right advice. also using a small unnoticeable camera also known as covert or spy camera watching other people can also be another legal problem for you. a years footage is just a waste of time and no court will allow it..... it would also take a year for your legal people and the court to watch. I would get a 4 way ip system with at least one camera with audio And set it up with good wide lens covering your property which state are you in ? -
Hi. Looking at the manual for your listed nvr its spec shows it is 960p and cameras are only 1mp so it look very unlikely the unit can operate anything above that and the software will not allow you to go 5mp

What kind of connector-adapter do I need?
tomcctv replied to IshKaBibble's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Apart from the parts Larry has listed for you. A power supply is also going to be needed 12v DC 2 amp for camera ...... your monitor looks like the small monitor used as reverse camera. You don’t show any power lead for that also which country are you in ... it just helps with posting links for you -
Well to help you the questions were not irrelevant and if you still wanted help the questions are still relevant after talking with an other aver tech also in the uk. It is now clear your only option is to buy a new recorder. Brian aver Kent might loan you a disc ... he does not have ftp access
-
Yes 20 mins away but you was not interested in that ...., so I gave you the ftp option you don’t want that. both offers of help you rejected that’s the outcome. no one can force you to take free help
-
I know you never requested it ...... I offered it to you to logon and get the software. which is what your post is about but yes in your words it’s irrelevant
-
Ok BNC fly lead ...... its analog system hence the reason why asked how many channels 1 -2 or 4 fly leads or pigtails which is another reason for checking the right software Read the thread again you have give nothing to help with your not interested in the ftp site ..... free access for a hour for all software needed but you can’t say if your system is on the internet i have offered you a password code .... but you say it’s irrelevant. I have offered help if only you answered simple questions so I give up
-
Trying to find out info for software. in your last post you state it’s a 32 way which it is not ....... not if it’s a 16x16 it is only a 16way ...... count the BNC connectors on the back so we know it’s a 16 way And you also think is irrelevant of result for f key. last 4 digits will tell me which version of software is loaded as I have said a number of times I am not sending you all 7 discs. is it connected to the internet ...... simple answer ... yes or no why have I asked that question avers ftp site ...... I can give you 1hr access to that site for all patches software and password generator....... but you think the question is irrelevant...... wow question about password again simple yes or no reason if you do fine you can get into full admin of your unit ...... if not I would of generated one for you because it sounds like your not in admin mode ....... but again you think it’s irrelevant Like I said am only 20 minutes from you I would of called in and loaded it for you It’s not lonely..... it was a offer of free help but good look anyway
-
Well here you are again .... I have asked simple questions and in last post explained why I needed to know how many channels you have ..... no point using 4 if you use 16 cameras i have also asked .... do you have the admin password twice .... again you don’t answer asked you to use f1 ..... again no reply I have asked is your system on the internet .... you only ask what has that got to do with it so we have wasted each other’s time and got no we’re. Not in this case ... it is not a full version of windows (you will find the licence on the back of your unit) if you update the windows your aver software will not work as there are no drivers. Your right it’s turned into war and peace and that’s a long book to read. questions need answers to help and not one has been answered. I bend over backwards to help people on this forum .... I have taken a flight to NY to help a guy with a ptz on this forum ... I have drove 4hrs to Scotland to help a guy with a system all for free your the first member to say I can’t help you because not enough information give Andrew Wong a call is your best option
-
Hi Charles finding a b/W only camera is going to be a waste of money are you looking at recording your cameras and what is your budget
-
Your right ...... after working for avermedia for 10 years I can’t help .... and the sad thing is I am only 20 minutes away from you reason for asking how many cameras ..... I’ll tell you what is the point of me only sending you the software for a 4 channel and it also needs to be regional so f1 does not give you the serial number ? aver closed there Milton Keynes uk office two years ago but if you call aver Taiwan and ask for Andrew wong see if he gives you my contact details
-
Hi. Yes unfortunately a dvr is needed. if you had bought standard analog cameras then connecting them to a tv would work (as monitor view only) the cameras you have bought are a high def analog using a format called CVI cvi signal will not display on any tv without it going through a dvr with cvi - tvi -ahd you don’t need to buy just a lorex dvr just look for one with a spec of HD analog 5mp they are cheap
