tomcctv replied to lukibest's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Just seen that on page 7 but doing a search all 4ways have your problem ....only two can be set so like a lot of there specs you will have to put it down to another misleading spec have you disabled intrusion. It says you can't use both -
Your welcome just with you saying touch BNC to BNC socket and it shorts is always a power problem but it is usually found in the camera lead ...... With yours being in power lead it was only getting neutral from BNC

Do you only have the 4way recorder ? In the manual it gives a conflict problem using 5mp cameras .... Can you change the resolution on your cameras to 2mp and see if it allows you -

Hi how many rules have you added to each camera . -
Hi in your picture the column to the right it says stream cif which is your sub stream .... viewing remotely via pc or mobile it will have 3 options in the pull down qcif cif D1 set it from cif to qcif it will reduce your remote image quality but will save on data usage
-
Hi switch your recorder off for 20 mins before you enter the code 5330808 if this does not work can you give the firmware version
-
Hi. You are only viewing cif over your internet but it would be hard to estermate your usage as there are lots of factors the amount of cameras you view at a time and how much data is in each image. There are isp that supply unlimited and also for mobile usage

Hi. Ground loop are not used with cat5 and baluns plus it's a digital signal not analog. at home did you swap out the balun that your installing with . if it's shorting your DVR then it's bad baluns or you have a short in your cat5 BNC / baluns carry power so if it is shutting down your recorder as soon as you connect ..... It's a short run a temp cat5 to your camera
-
That could be a balun wired wrong way at 1 end or bad balun (short) or you could be very unlucky but it does happen ..... Some cameras share a neutral (power and video neutral) and sometimes gives a short ...... Try swapping the camera for one of your others
-
Did you add extra pair for power and what is the distance from cam to power also put that camera onto a separate power supply
-
Govision is a company have you set recorder to motion or 24hr record. And you don’t need to mask off in motion alerts that is something different.... that’s motion alarm
-
You were right to think it’s geo that’s there point on using geo part numbers

Hi. Did you use HD analog or IP cameras . can you see the gatehouse from recorder location does the gate house have a PC or laptop ? You could use something like the nano station and then use the KVMS pro software that comes with your recorder ....... That way they have full control of the cameras which is something you would not have just running a monitor feed -

Hi. 530ft you are not going to be able to do with cable without spending a lot. what make of recorder did you use ? -
Hi. Only ever 1 pair for video when using cat5 also are you using a power supply with a lead with 4 power plugs
-
Hi. Switch off your unit for 20 mins then back on and try admin with no password. have you bought this new or secondhand ?
-
Ok ..... But problems need to be sorted out ...... Reason why we ask how many for power is ..... 1 pair is not good on cat5 and you never answered type of balun used ....... A lot of people think there buys baluns off the likes of eBay to find there not baluns at all
-
Hi. No not a ground loop problem . what type of baluns have you used and how many pairs have you used for video and for power
-
If that is the case .....it would work on his iPad

tomcctv replied to Cam Era's topic in Security Cameras
Yes it will give you 4 IP addresses -
Is that not what was said ......... Installer has set a user account . And not admin account .... can I ask you when op changes everything ......goes all out swaps to DDNS ......how is it going to help ...... Still needs admin password
-
why has this post gone so far wrong ??? ops system is working ...... It is only a password problem ..... A two minute fix once a QR setup has been used ......it is not recommend to use a second connection with a DDNS service
