For a start I did say high security and commercial ... ok government Yes your right .... but when a company puts software onto there systems is different... it’s been put on there for a purpose which is not needed and should not be on there. But I’m not going to argue about it ... it is well documented the op asked a question and it was answered the problem with domestic is the cloud apps and it does not matter what security is on your network because the app cloud service has been aloud that is its failure point

yes This is why it’s banned in USA Canada Australia japan New Zealand soon Europe also oem of hik ...Swann now the same and taken from GDPR approval and a big court case starting and another manufacturer XMEye just made the headlines for the same thing ... hidden in there apps which is going to be another problem countie would not need to ban if it was as simple as firewall .... but even if was it’s also apps and China cloud services that’s another way out for data so yes the best thing is to stay away from hikvision But the bans are only on high security and commercial nothing for the domestic market ... home owners .... and home owners just relie on plug and play and routers supplied by there isp .... hence the reason lorex don’t have the USA or the Canadian ban it’s sold as domestic ... but still dahua owned dahua software

Hard drive showing 0 used and 0 available
tomcctv replied to Cctv2240's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Sounds like a used drive ..... always best to install a new Hard drive you could try removing it and format it on a pc .. and then install it into recorder and let recorder format it..... if recorder does not format it from start there is a problem with hard drive. Also a used drive could also have a partition and recorder could see that as a problem -
Hi. For a system to tell you it needs a update is not good and does not happen are you using a cloud service what happends if your system is not on internet.... do you get the same message

tomcctv replied to alpalp's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
So your saying pixels are not information ......your saying more pixels is not more information IE detail Listen I will let someone else answer your question .....just so you know it's not false. Starlight belongs to dahua ..... And I will give you a little clue .....it was developed by dahua and flir Read your post again ........and also understand starlight was put out to licence to anyone who pays licence fee to dahua .......just like your post above ....Bosch INTRODUCES latest starlight technology Only means there use it in there products.... Which is what I said most now use it You don't have design background in CCTV ..... and if you have facts like you say that starlight is just a generic term .... Post it you have no clue about pixels ..... No clue on chip or sensors. -
Best low light vision IP camera, budget 200USD?
tomcctv replied to alpalp's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
But it’s not a zoom it’s a motorised lens just the same as varifocal lens. NO ZOOM alpalp ..... look at lens type on spec and again it’s only 2mp ...... nvr zoom is always better with a bigger mp camera ..... twice as much detail in a 5mp far better image and eptz control twice as much as your link -
