Lorex 4K IP Camera RJ45 Pin1 Broken, need pin out help
tomcctv replied to bernstma's topic in Security Cameras
Hi there are a couple of ways …. Move wire 8 from rj45 and use that as 1 (both ends) but you might loose ir Or you could buy a tp-link Ethernet over power and not use the damaged cat cable at all as far as finding the break ….. it is usually at the rj45 ends ….. but worth looking along cable run paying attention to cable clips that might of been too tight or areas were it bends around corners but if it has worked in the past it is unlikely to be a cable break …. Usually it’s the power cable side of the rj45 that gives the problem i would look at cable run and see if it has any loose runs ….. we’re the cable could be moving with wind or under stress from dropping down can you power the camera locally if needed https://www.tp-link.com/uk/home-networking/powerline/tl-pa717-kit/ -
Kguard DVR-8CIF (NS801) Channels 3 and 4 Not Recording
tomcctv replied to cdub74's topic in Security Cameras
Hi first thing I would look at is channel list you have an 8 way dvr and you can drag and drop images on screen to move cameras around so you could infact have cam 1 cam 2 cam 5 cam 6 showing on your screen and cams 5 and 6 have no settings this could also happen if the system has been unplugged and the bnc connections on the back have not been put into the right channel ports……. I would go to monitor and click 8 cam screen and see which channels have image other than that I would not spend much time a effort on that dvr as it’s 12 years old and only records in cif hybrid DVRs are cheap infact in most cases it’s not much more than buying a 1tb hard drive …. Which a new dvr would come with -
R80XD50-PQ - pass and firmware
tomcctv replied to Caporeira's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi that camera is called the icsee Wi-Fi smart camera the questions your asking sounds like you have come across the camera secondhand as you need the qr code to activate it and if it has already been used then you won’t find the password unless you have the login details from last owner not to be mixed up with iP cctv camera …. It is a Wi-Fi smart camera new they cost $22 so don’t expect much from it icsee is part of the xmeye company so I strongly recommend you read the privacy policy on the App Store or play store it tracks your mobile / tracks internet usage/ and sends you adverts via the cloud storage you use to access the camera (all back to china) -
Nice part of the country I have a few installs in boston your budget is in the right area for a 4 way system and I would go for a IP camera system which is cat5 run to each location of camera cat5 in the uk can be from £40 to £120 a roll of 305m which makes no sense but it will eat into your system budget screwfix does 100m reel for £39 which should be enough for your house i would look at viper nvr and cameras …. The nvr will run any iP camera upto 4K and has one of the best viewing apps available called SuperLive plus

Hi there is not a lot you can do ….. these cheap crap smart cameras need to be connected to a 3rd party server and if that’s down your camera is down …… another problem is some apps are starting to be removed in some countries for breach of data qr P2P cameras people think when remote viewing that there connecting to there camera …. Which is not the case … your connecting to a server that is most of the time in China….. if that’s down you remote viewing is down

Hikvision DS-2CV2041G2-IDW
tomcctv replied to coltswalker's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. I would look at cctv instead of built in Wi-Fi cameras which are smart cameras not cctv in your other post I was asking wireless range does each location use the same power ? and I would give hikvision a miss since there having problems again with private data -
Hi what is your budget . Will you be installing yourself

Missing woman Kirsten Brueggeman last seen on CCTV “glitch” — is this time jump normal?
tomcctv replied to SkepticTank's topic in Security Cameras
So what about the electronic signature that can’t be deleted from files or even the watermark if you have 15 years … why have you eliminated motion detection with pre and post record watch the video again ….. camera is protecting the perimeter fence of a business … most likely setup with motion segment and pre and post record is part of motion setup pre …. = girl is first picked up by cctv (5sec) she walks along fence line activating each motion detection post…..= girl walks away from fence line but post record continues for 20 seconds …. Which is standard setting for post then camera stops recording unfortunately motion detection is also effected by moving lights at night or shadows ….. just like the car coming into view at 2.30 (top left) other reason for motion record setup the footage shows car park area beyond fence line ….. it would use up cctv owners hard drive to record everything each time cars are parking up but again all this is easy checked if police did there job right or at least used a video forensics team to check the settings on the recorder …… motion setup settings will show motion area and what pre and post times are and I bet the settings are still the same now if someone checked -
Hi. The answer is no p2p (peer to peer) is usually setup via qr code or serial number and opens the ports it needs by its self on your router which then connects camera to another server usually in China ….. when you access camera on your local network you can use its local iP but when away from your own network you are infact getting the data from the 3rd party server

simple reliable ip wifi camera for zoneminder
tomcctv replied to coltswalker's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi the market hasn’t changed … it’s just got itself confused to help sell crap and pop up company’s that don’t understand what there selling put Wi-Fi cameras into any browser and all your going to get is smart cameras ….. need registration to work ….. needs P2P to work and 3rd party involvement just to be able to use it why are you looking for Wi-Fi camera ….. what is the camera distance ? -
Hi then wireless is the wrong way to go it has never been reliable and also does not last long …… the last few months wireless have gone cheap some reduced by 70% it is also a bad idea to buy two unless you only use them as two 4 ways and that will slow your own network down ( P2P China) you can run the 8 cameras on one dvr but you can’t backup using another wireless dvr as each camera code has already been used and set on first dvr To be ultra secure….. wireless with P2P China and short life span is not secure

Ok then you need to order another power supply I have picked this one because it’s easier to install all you need to do is unplug the black leads from the red plugs and plug in the new ones from this kit and you should be ok to go you also get a plug adapter with this kit but you don’t need it just plug 4 red into the 4 new black and the other end of the pig tail goes direct into new power supply lead Link https://www.amazon.co.uk/BW-Quality-Splitter-Alternative-Included)-Black/dp/B00C676JNM/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?crid=2FMVO7VML5GSK&keywords=cctv+power+supply+12v&qid=1666292167&qu=eyJxc2MiOiI0LjU3IiwicXNhIjoiNC4wNyIsInFzcCI6IjMuOTMifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=%2Caps%2C54&sr=8-13 -

Then that is your problem it sounds like who ever installed your system cut corners …. A bad corner at that all analog systems must have two power supplies one that should power dvr only and another to power cameras only but it looks like your installer cut corners and only used the one that came with the dvr and split the power between dvr and cameras which is not good a quick test is to go outside now (as it’s dark) and see if the cameras glow red (They won’t be) -

Also in one of your screen images in your first post it shows ahd in the centre… your camera picture only shows standard analog on your monitor screen you need to change format …. Do this….. on monitor screen next to cam number (bottom left) on every camera press the little white square with your mouse each time you press wait a few seconds on each push of square … it should change ahd to tvi to cvi to cvb …… see if any image starts to show
