Q-See QT428 8CH DVR consumer review (with pictures)
tomcctv replied to Toaster's topic in Digital Video Recorders
hi. i would take more time in picking a DVR. with a poor dvr it does not matter what camera you buy $20 to $300 the image will still be poor. i would take a look at the dahua range of DVRs and i would work on the price for a budget camera at no less than $50 each. -

hi. jimbo120. box systems are never a good idea. and the wire kits always need replacing as do the power supplies (if you want to upgrade a camera) a good sign of a bad system .... (as like costco) $350 off list price. if you have a low budget. it is always best to build your system over time. -
yes it a slide bar under camer recording. most are set to 6fps from factory. but you also have what res the camera is recording in. and you will see this in the list of cameras across the top. some will be in blue some in red. on some of the SA32 they can go 25fps depends on which software it came with. also a tip..... on the 32 if you insert a mem pen and export settings to it .... this will save all camera names (saves retyping if a mistake is made)

Why aren't there any 1080P DVR's yet?
tomcctv replied to blackjackel's topic in General Digital Discussion
ak357. you are very right. there is alot more to look at other than pixel count on a dvr. you also need the amount of data in each pixel. (bitrate) -
Dedicated Micros Digital Sprite 2 Stuck in Initilizing Boot

you need to use the old H/drive that was in the DVR (it holds the O/S) and then add a second H/drive for extra storage. -

everyone can log on to that IP.. it is the makers sales office and not the ops own IP. to see if the dvr is even on the internet he needs to send someone his IP -
DVR Remote doesn't move cameras over iPhone...
tomcctv replied to rucanunes's topic in Computers/Networking
Im afraid to ask, but what is that? It's a DDNS. were are you based. you have had this problem for a long time. you seem to be going all directions. lunaeyes.dvrdns.org has nothing to do with your system it is just a demo site. you are best just getting your system on line before you even think about using a DDNS service. you should (to make things easy) just use your external ip (google myip) http:// your ip :port number -

Could you help me pick a camera?
tomcctv replied to Jeroen1000's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
just because they can. its just the arecon camera in a bosh housing. with the duel camera the sensor detects night time which switches on the 3mp camera. when the light falls to night the sensor switches off the 3mp camera and switches on the 1.3mp but you always get better footage from a light souce such as a pir light and with doing that it will only use the 3mp giving you better images day or night. -
Could you help me pick a camera?
tomcctv replied to Jeroen1000's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
the bosh does use your first choice of camera http://www.arecontvision.com/AV3130.html so to keep the price down you just need the arecon camera / and housing then add a PIR light. http://www.arecontvision.com/AV3130.html http://www.arecontvision.com/HSG1-O-W-Housing.html and you have the same as the Bosh. with using a PIR light you will save more not buying a duel camera. this will do the same job viewtopic.php?f=22&t=20564 -
Help need in IP based CCTV
tomcctv replied to engr.jay08's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
all hybrids are networkable so you had no need for the decoder. just connect your dvrs to your cisco and use a CMS software. using mobotix with a hybrid is very limited if you want to get the best from a mobotix you need a server . to learn how to install 20 mobotix cameras over a forum is not a way to go. go and get training from your mobotix distributor. and with you buying 20 they will give you good support (for 20 they will come and do the network for you) -
hi. there are a number of adaptors around. cant say if they work for DVR cards.

you can hide analog just as well as a ip system. be it coax or cat5 . your budget is a little low so buy and install cameras as and when your budget allows. your budget at the moment may get you a good dvr and a few cameras. but once you have the heart of your system installed (your dvr) the rest you can do over time. a good little DVR is the Dahua and fits in with your budget. and just buy a reel of cat5 and run cable to every location you are looking to install cameras
-
one thing to check. go to system then cameras and see if it has changed to ip under the list .... just change it back to analog
