Hi. done alot of the CNBs and not had a night image like that. its more of a interference than noise. how have you connected the camera ? are you on coax or cat5 i have seen something like this before on a call out were the installers used 2 pair of cat5 for video (which give the same effect) sould always use 1 pair for video and the rest for power. (if on 1 camera) might be a little work. but swap both your cameras around and see what you have.

not quite illegal yet. but is only sold with a court order to use. company must be registered and have a court refferance. cant be used around domestic homes. it has been band by some councils around the country. the mosquito has its place but people started installing the system in shopping centers (all they had in mind was to move on loitering teens) which also had effect on teens just out shopping

12VDC versus 24VAC for "Dual Power" Cameras
tomcctv replied to vmgtlexi's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Probably correct. The manufacturer (Nuvico) told me the same thing. They said the iris controller has gone bad. Oddly, one of the malfunctioning cameras works perfect some days and is washed out on other days. I wish it would just outright die or work 100%, but life is never that simple. another test you can do, is disconnect 1 camera and see how you get on with just running 3 (this will tell if you have problems with amps) -
Can I Remotely Access Two Different CCTV DVR's?
tomcctv replied to vmgtlexi's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. yes you have the right idea. you just need to set a port for each dvr. DVR1 11.11.11.111: 5555 DVR2 11.11.11.111:5556 which ever port number you give to each DVR ip in your router settings. -
hi 015lux is colour when you set up the camera for night you have settings to set for the enviroment the camera is in so B/W you would use the Sense Up setting On / Off (Selectable limit x 2 ~ x512) which when the camera has gone true day night you can set the lux down to 0.2

12VDC versus 24VAC for "Dual Power" Cameras
tomcctv replied to vmgtlexi's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
the other thing to look at ..... if you are using 12 5amp with 4 cameras that are over 1amp running you still could have a power problem if you have long cable runs -
Problem/Question with Vivotek NR8201
tomcctv replied to johnmaclean's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi John. you will find using another port other than 80 will solve your problem. set it to 83 and see what happends. you will also need to set the port you use in your router port forwarding to your NVR just had a look at the setup manual ports you need are 1025 and 65535 and you use 80 for local only -
Low budget small town community-based CCTV system
tomcctv replied to roknjohn's topic in System Design
to be honest this is a bad idea your service team alone is going to have to be massive to the point your service team wage bill is going to cost much more than what you can generate from your customers. in a small town you are going to have cameras going down every day. running an off site recording for IP cameras has always had problems and it will give you more problems if you cant give your customers the service. you do need recording at each site (not from a SD card in a camera) you can Guarantee it will of over write by the time you get to it if the internet has gone down or ip has changed. but at least if each site has NVR or dvr recording you have not let your customers down. which is the service you intend to set up, a central monitoring station for a small town -
we always use 3g/4g from netgear. since networks do both. dont buy just a 3g

Hi, cant even find a true spec for it. i was going to call it cheap. but thats another thing i cant find out the price between all the companies that have it listed is between $400 and $3.400. but if a company cant list a true spec then take the D1 and its viewing res and not the true recording RES. lots of companies sell as true D1 they just leave out of there spec sheet if that viewing or recording and on most you are recording CIF. or a low D1 frame rate

hi. fitting ip to an old analog DVR. no not to the avtech. you could use a decoder but the cost to turn your ip back to analog (which will down grade your image and you will loose control of the PTZ) it will be cheaper to use a small PTZ analog

ebay dvr you have listed. real time at cif and D1 at 6fps ebay £369 anywere else in the uk with Hard drives £146. 3 year warranty. apollo HD pro 25fps at D1 £370 much better and faster dvr (same maker Dahua)
-
Hi. jdowning. the dvr you have listed is miles to much money. for the same money but from the same distributor you can get the apollo HD. (and you get a better warranty than ebay) with most of your cameras i would use domes. but your carpark area i would install a PTZ for dome camera samsung TDN with built in baluns. then you can run cat5 to every camera. looking at your building .... is it listed ?? very nice place. cat5 is the way to go coax and power would be hard to hide

Hi. blippy. got lots of customers up your way.

for a system as large as 120 ip cameras. i would say get a company in. as well as camera options and software you will also need to build a good network. also when looking for software or an NVR. take alook at any licence fees that some have and also build that into your budget.

tomcctv replied to Rob Goodfellow's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
hi. just have a go at removing the software from your iphone and re-install it. -
yes a new DVR. if yours is the white unit then it may be the avtech. you may have had a chance if it was a PC based unit. but as a standalone what you have is it. what features does your customer want.
