lift shafts are a hard call. just to cover yourself just call the lift company. there are so many regs all differant all over the world. here in the UK wether it be a holiday inn or hilton the lift does not belong to them. the space the lift shaft takes is leased out to the lift company. everything in that space belongs to the lift company (many are otis) and nothing can be added or repaired without concent from them

These DVRs all seem to run at 6/7FPS - not the full 25/30fps. Will that still be sufficient? hi you wont find Dahua DVRs being sold in the UK on ebay .co.uk only old models from china. they get removed.

Analoge video encoder
tomcctv replied to foxguard's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi. then all as you need to do is change to a DVR. no encoders needed. take a look at the new dahua DVRs they are all hybrid now for adding cameras at a later date. you can view the system from any operating system and any mobile iphone and android. plus alot cheaper than buying 8 encoders. -
I have absolutely none in mind - wouldn't I be better buying a non-D1 DVR and then waiting about a year until the prices go down? Jack Hi. D1 is not that expensive. pm me your total budget. if you install a system that does not conform to DPA standards you can loose alot of money.

Analoge video encoder
tomcctv replied to foxguard's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi. that is called a hybrid. still no point in doing that if the current DVR is working. unless you intend to add ip at a later date. is your customer just looking at viewing his current system over the internet ??? -

I need a camera recommendation
tomcctv replied to ssnapier's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
the only PTZ (not a true ptz) that panasonic do is only a 180 deg pan. (digital) with POE. the cheapest panasonic true 360deg PTZs start at $1500.and there not POE. like soundy says $1000 for a good PTZ ip is going to be hard even if you get discount for buying 20. -

Analoge video encoder
tomcctv replied to foxguard's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
yes it can if you get a combatable encoder. but it will not improve the images. they will just be the same as you have now. its ok if you are doing an upgrade on a system were ip are being added with existing old cameras . then you would use encoders or use a hybrid. but just to change analoge to digital has no benifit -
Analoge video encoder
tomcctv replied to foxguard's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
the problem is that they get no benifit from using encoders. they will just get the same image as they have. -
Analoge video encoder

hi. are you changing from a DVR to a NVR or hybrid unit. using encoders for a lot of cameras seem like a wast of money. they dont come cheap. -
it is better to go D1. because you are a restaurant / hotel you do come under the DPA act. which means your system has to be fit for purpose. doing your system yourself is not a problem and is a good way of saving money. do you have a DVR in mind.
-
£250 is a very good price. you will get most (except PTZ) for under that. cat5 is the cable you need to ask for comes in 305m reels (dont go with cheap stuf) mostly comes in gray or black in the UK. your local city electrical factors will be best. (CEF) what type of budget do you have for your DVR. having good cameras and then using a bad dvr is a waste of money.

event or continuous recording for pools and reflective glass
tomcctv replied to towermaintenance's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
hi what cameras and system do you have ? -
are you installing on a licenced premisess
-
hi it may be best if you can give some sort of budget first. listing cameras and DVRs is easy but if you have a small budget it can be a lot of work for nothing. another is to list each distance from DVR to camera (cable runs) but for your install dont buy from the likes of ebay. full body camera. looks like this. this is a complete camera from CNB. is this what you ment.

AVC796B Harware reset procedure
tomcctv replied to andreabolzicco's topic in Digital Video Recorders
hi. if you have tried to update your firmware with a none compatable version. then you have no way of getting your unit back to its original firmware. am 90% shure you need to send your unit to a avtech distributor or see if they will send you a copy. you could try this firmware (only use your model number) but i do think your unit does need to go back for software. http://www.ussscctv.com/Technical_Supports.htm -

Milestone Go + Sanyo Full HD cams (setting resolution)
tomcctv replied to daniely87's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
this was a problem with sanyos. 3500s. and it cant be fixed with firmware. sanyo does do a full replacment. they did release a S/ number or the cameras that had to go back. -
yes i have. but its mainly a contact if a new station is getting built or a old station having a total rebuild. electrical standards are controlled by PB. and CCTV systems are not covered. (low power) plus it sounds like your petrol station is private owned. so you will have no problem. just sounds like he has other quotes from idots.
-
yes its fine to point a camera at a pump. we do alot of work for shell/BP and esso filling stations. we even have a petrol station in kent that sounds like the same setup as yours. only two pumps (very old around the 70s) so no data from pump back to cashier. we used a CNB PTZ works very well controlled by the cashier. i camera covered two pumps. i think the other companies are getting a bit confused. you can point or mount a camera anywere in a petrol station. except you can not attach them to a pump. (uk no external power can be added or connected to a petrol pump other than its own control equipment)
-
hi. if your cameras are spread apart. if they are upto 80m then you could just use RG59 with power to all cameras including your ptz. and just run a cat5 to each ptz for data.
-
you will see a conector more like this at your camera end.
