    Good quality IR camera

in night time No. i see you have listed a spec of a camera but to be honest it means nothing. you are best posting make and mod of your camera. and also your DVR can also play in a big factor to your camera problem. what make is your dvr and mod.
  9. you will find more info here than from SCT. SCT telford sold the AVTECH 761ASV might be worth giving them a call 01952 505 053 or scan this site for info. http://scorpiontheater.com/cpcamtechsupport.aspx
  10. Hi greenbuggy. the best thing to do first is list the spec of the pc you are now using for your card. because it sounds like you already have a problem with seeing pink squires sometime which can be a graphic card problem. buying software with out buying the card to go with it never works you will still get problems so i would rule that option out. like you have said you have talked to the manufactor if they cant help then simple dont give them anymore money find a card company with good support. but your first thing to do is list your pc spec. that way we can find a good replacement card for you that will work. and then you can rest and put that knife back in the kitchen draw. we dont want to read in the news that you have cut youself. your lorex card runs on the following pc spec. System Requirement QLR1660 QLR1660-2 OS Windows 98SE / ME / 2000 / XP CPU P-IV 1.6GHz or higher P-IV 3.0GHz or higher Memory more than 256MB HDD 5Gbyte or higher VGA 32MB or higher * * Recommended VGA: RIVA TNT 2, GeForce2 MX 100/200, GeForce2 MX 400, ATI XPERT 2000 Pro, ATI RADEON 7200 [NOTE] You should use the VGA card with Hardware Acceleration function. * A Standalone Grapics card (not integrated with the Motherboard) is essential for the correct functioning of the QLR1660 system. If you are unsure of your specific PC configuration, please refer to your hardware vendor for more information.

Nope, exactly the same FOV. Bean00 what i was saying was not to record in D1 (like bosh says) cif/ 2cif/ does not matter which. the software you get with the camera is what you zoom into the plate with not the dvr. (you do the zooming on a pc it also comes with enhacement tools) using a lens calculator .............. yes its fine for a standard camera the REG-X at 8.3m is dead will not see anything at all .......... so no point using the lens calculator. am trying to get permision so as i can give birdman an ip to 3 REG-X cameras i should have it monday as i use the bosh REG-X for campsites and the barrier control (which will be the link) i dont understand why use this camera just in the way you would use a standard camera it was not designed for that use. you could use a camera like this http://www.videcon.co.uk/product_details.php?StockID=1203&l1=3&l2=23 ........ it will get plates day and night at a good range also colour of car and detail. and you will save $700 that is what i cant get my head around this post Scruits set-up is very good even had comments on it. and scruits system is my point he has the licence plate and you can also see it is a subaru forester (good car i had one when i lived in westvirgina) and its done with a stanard camera. the REG-X will only give you a plate in a black image. so you are paying more for less detail and information.

    In Car (mobile) ANPR camera

if you mean a true ANPR then the first thing you are going to need is the database link from the DMV or DVLA depends were you are ??
  13. futuresenry is a ptz. you just put a zoom standard or ip camera inside. and if you also use the wirless sensors. as mobile devices i.e you have a loaded truck parked up at night you put a sensor on it.

    NVR or possible PC

yes using a dedicated PC is fine but it depends on how old it is and if it is capable of doing the job. this card will do just what you need supports 5mp cameras. avermedia NV6240T http://www.avermedia.com/AVerDiGi/Product/Detail.aspx?Id=133&Tab=Specification
  15. based on your serial No D600-YP92-661614 i have sent you the master code reset for both types of software. try the first one first if your dvr is around 2005-6.
  16. are you LGC Forensics in Middlesex ??? why can the passwork not be got from the owners of the dvr.someone must of seen the footage on the dvr. ??? you can take the drive out and put it into a caddy and see what files you have. there are 2 types of GE PRO 11 2005 and 2008 both run differant software. so you need to know which before you even try to flash it.
  17. i have not seen anything that can transmit 4 camera feeds down 1 coax cable. but i have used the biwave VDS2500 box that will transmit 2 cameras plus power and 2 alarm signals down 1 coax cable. might be better for you to run two coax cables at least if 1 fails you will still have two cameras working.

  19. 720x480 NTSC or 720x576 PAL = D1 resolution i also say D1 is 720x480 NTSC / 720x576. i call it true D1. but 1000s of dvr manufactures also say 704x480 NTSC / 704x576 is also D1 but i know it as 4cif. this is why we see so many images of D1 dvrs with what people call interlacing artifacts on moving objects. its a 4cif. 4cif in its own right is good but needs another component to function each pixel must have data. data known as bits (bitrate). While a 4CIF image can produce a better quality image then a CIF image because the more pixels used to represent an image, the closer the result can resemble the original; it does not necessarily have to be the case. 4CIF does not mention the amount or quality of the data to be displayed in the pixels. These are “empty” pixels. Pixels need to be filled with data. Data is referred to in terms of bits. Accordingly, a CIF image filled with more bits then a 4CIF image can produce better visual results.
  20. this is a very good product. but please remember the product does not have a camera. it is upto you what camera you put into the housing. but the unit is pre wired for both standard and ip applications. but for the cost of a fence alarm or beam sensors which will not be active untill set on lock up. the furure sentry is protecting 24hrs a day. the system works on wireless sensors (15 for each camera) this is much more cost effective than beams or fence alarms. http://futuresentry.com/markets/industrial http://www.cctvengineer.com/Installation%20Manual.pdf

Hi Birdman Adam. standard lens calculations are for field of view. standard lens. the REG-X and the rest have a Black lens it cant see field of view its there to look for reflections from its IR reflecting back. if you stand infront of the camera it will not see you at all but it will pick-up reflection from your watch or belt buckle.

    Neighborhood CCTV

Birdman Adam. that is what i have been saying all along use standard cameras and not the bosh REG-x also see how far scrits car is away from the camera the REG-x can not get a plate from that distance. also if you use your settings as For D1 resolution, we have 720x480 = 345,600 total pixels 345,600*18% or 0.18 = 62,208 pixels you will also have a bad image they need to record in cif. remember a cif image with a very high bitrate give good detail images

Your 18% calculation is more complex than it needs to be. If your image is 720x??? then make sure the license plate is at least 720*.18 = 130 pixels wide. For US license plates, if you can see past *both* sides of the car then the plate is too small. This is the smallest I would have the plates and still expect to read them... Too small: More thoughts: lens calculation can not be used on the bosh REG cameras its a black image camera it only sees ir. dont mix standard cameras settings with a bosh REG camera this is daytime image

this is were i am getting lost . so the camera is on the side of the road so in meters the car is 2m from camera to plate and the camera is from kerb to centre of road say another 2m and the camera is mounted 2m high. with the bosh american calculator the REG-X can not see as close as 2m so entre 3m then distance from kerb to centre of road 2m and the camera is mounted 2m high. bosh calculator tells you that you are out of the 7m range and install for the REG-X and to use a REG-L1 http://products.boschsecurity.co.uk/en/GB/products/bxp/SKUF.01U.080.125-CATM4ee759c007a61cbce559f31fd53d9314
