Hi that looks like a monitor problem (lines are going across quad picture) could be a bad vga lead or monitor has a problem. test with another monitor first.

    LPR / ANPR advice

"keep the cost down and something that will work" We all wish that Well you will need 2 cameras if your going with Axis. One set for day and the other for night. seriously? can't they switch modes automatically? or is that because the settings must be different? i think the software is more of a problem than the cameras? half of the software seems to be for analogue cameras, the other half is in the thousands of pounds!! Hi daniely87. you have said pounds so your in the uk. are you looking for ANPR (software collection of number plates) or just a camera that will allow you to see a number plate on your dvr. if it is ANPR what is the application you need it for .... private or public
  5. Hi the cost of using fibre is going to be 1000s this is before you have purchased your ip cameras and nvr. and if you have never done fibre i would say you are better getting a company in to do it for you .... termination tools are also expensive. or you could install a nvr at the point were you need the cameras and remote it back to your office. this will save you lots of money to spend on a good nvr and high end ip cameras.

    settings, camera looks bad

all cnb ending vf are high end cameras. so i would do some tests first. do you have your card set to pal or ntsc (USA) ntsc. if you have it set as pal will give you bad picture and large pixals. also plug the camera into a tv just to test the quality. and what size power supply are you using.

    department store system

yes you can do ......... but try and stay away from the cheapo converters. you need on that you can change the res for the monitor. avermedia around $40

    department store system

they are many ways of doing this ... one way would be to use the out /output of the camera you need to display. or on some dvrs you will have a tv out and you select your camera from a menu. and it depends on the type of monitor you use (you are best using a monitor with AV input) as then you will not need a vga converter as this degrades the image a little. so a monitor with AV input and all you need then is something like this.
  9. Hi. this unit is too old and you wont get it to play though your usb on to a laptop. you take the footage off the unit by usb then you can view footage.

CnM Secure 4 Channel H.264 DVR

cnm are giving people lots of problems in the uk. no back up what so ever. yet the company is on this forum but never give support. budget systems are good for a home diy kit. but it has to do its job. the sales team at maplins stores will try and get support for you. but they never do its not a budget system ..............its called a suck and see.

    Ip cameras on embedded DVR

they would be no point. ip is digital your dvr is analog. Then won't an analog to digital converter work? analog to digital are user to put a standard camera onto a network. so no that will not work for you. if you just have a standard dvr (not hybrid) then you can only use analog cameras

  21. not entirely, as if that were true then we wouldnt be needed, the clients could just buy the same products from retailers and install it themselves. thats not the case rory. say a customer called you out to give a price for a system but the customer wanted you to buy all the equipment from ebay $20 cameras and a $60 dvr. but he wanted to see faces at 60ft and record for 30 days. what would you do buy and install or give the customer the knowledge that you know the system will not do the job but the equipment you sell will.
  22. I would suggest this Leader 435B NTSC Test Signal Generator just seen on e-bay I have Leader 396 and I love it Thanks AK, Again nice kit, but here in Europe we are PAL. In addition it does not have the 2T, 10T Pulse and bar output required. But many thanks anyway. Ilkie http://recycledequipment.com/index.cfm/product/926/leader-lcg-396-ntsc-pattern-generator.cfm http://cgi.ebay.com/Leader-LCG-396-NTSC-Pattern-Generator-USED-/230551737449 http://cgi.ebay.com/Leader-LCG-396-NTSC-Pattern-Generator-/20054369 i have 1000s spent in test equipment / test generators / auto focus tools / but at the end of the day there is no better test than pluging the camera in . i have worked on contract with ADT guys with all the test equipment and on all there paperwork and test sheets everything is right ......... plug camera in and picture quality is crap. every engineer has there prefered camera or balun or cable they use as its trusted and tested ... it is down to equipment used at the end of the day.
  23. hi manuals / firmware / remote viewer/ player all sent to your email.

  25. the hikvision apollo. it depends on how you entered the new code. if you have shut down your system just after entering your new code then this is called covert admin ............ means you can only reset buy network login. so if you can remember your password try that. but if you removed admin and entered a full user and admin password and forgot it then firmware is no good as you also need the password to load it. if you send me your company details i.e letterhead or company website then i will send you a factory reset flash.
