what you have to remember is this is a dvr recorder and not a dvd recorder. you will not be getting 30fps on your dvr. you are getting in total 120 ips. ips is not the same as fps you have to half it 15fps is your dvr

Technical help with mobile DVR
tomcctv replied to johnnyy's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi johny it looks like your system has no support at all even goole just takes you back to greece. no were else. you might find you are going to have another problem. when you put another drive in the unit does it all work. some units like yours has the operating system on the H/D.
Can you help me figure out my ideal setup?
tomcctv replied to asscore's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi asscore. if you are thinking of using ip and standard cameras i would take a look at hybrid. the dvr listed below will do everything you ask. and the auto track ptz works well on this system and the control side from a pc for the ptz is just move your mouse and the ptz will follow. http://www.avermedia.com/AVerDiGi/Product/Detail.aspx?id=152 -
Sorry I am confused my self. Doing this as a favor for the neighbor. Prior to my arrival, he has static IP with PC-DVR. That PC-DVR went bad. His CCTV company sent him a stand-alone DVR that offers FREE DDNS. The tech never showed up. I came in and replaced the broken PC-DVR with the FREE DDNS stand-alone DVR. Between AT&T and DVR tech support, I was not able to get the Stand-alone DVR to work without the Static IP. Neighbor wants to remove Static IP because he now has Free DDNS. When I return, what is the quickest way to change from Static IP to Free DDNS? As mentioned, I tried for (4) hours and was NOT successful. Thanks if the dvr came with free ddns. then just post which dvr it is and we can help you set it up.

the problem you are going to have is not many companys put that much tech into a 4 way. you might find it better to look for a good 8 way. but always buy named dvrs. why do you need 25fps ??? and were are you in the uk

what size power supply are you using. ???

it would be best if you could make something covert. you need to catch them. wireless stuff does not work all that well. i have used this sort of equipment in the past for covert. just get a tupperware box and dig a hole in your garden close to your mail box and hide the two cameras just looking out of the ground its good for 11 hours. dvd quality video

much easier to use mirror effect you dont need to tint. we make are own gold mirror or standard mirror dome covers

Spytown I believe has commited fraud
tomcctv replied to fdwyer's topic in General Digital Discussion
spytown i dont know them at all and i am 3475 mile from them. so no i dont work for them. but again i can see your problem READ YOUR POST AGAIN you did not say you paid for both cameras YOU SAID you paid the differance. so yes he has lost money (you have only paid for the last lot of cameras) not the first lot which are damaged (as you said) and are now secondhand. -
Spytown I believe has commited fraud
tomcctv replied to fdwyer's topic in General Digital Discussion
to be honest with you none of this looks like spytowns problem at all. this looks like you did not know what you were buying in the first place. and it look as if spytown has lost money. what is he going to do with used cameras. and as far as the power supply you should have know that you would require i bigger supply. you cant expect him to also replace that at his cost. you have run into these problems because you are not an installer. spytown uses this forum lets see what he has to say about you posting his company as fraudulant for the whole world to see -
nah checked them already, different software. DVRs look different also. is it like this unit. geeks.

by saying background recording. do you mean the original recording before it has been converted for burn off (its original format) known as native file as the guys said, Background means continous recording from cameras when there is no event/alarm or intrusion happining. that is called smart recording low res and fps untill movement with 5 sec pre post then full res

Does this mean i have to now go and buy a bloody Dog.

it sounds like your port for camera 8 is not set up. one way of testing this is to move a good camera from its camera port say from 1 to 8 and see if it is the same. if it is i would look at your settings for camera 8 and look at your PAL and NTSC settings.
-
this sounds like a power problem. what amp is your power supply and how far is your camera from the dvr. a quick test is ptz your camera and your picture will drop off then come back on. (not enough power to move camera)
