Recording quality vs cheap camera (samples)

first have a look at your smart recording. this is when your dvr records in poor quality till it picks up movement. it should give you options to change settings. but i would say set your dvr to motion only record and see how it goes. also if you are thinking of changing and you have not built a card based pc then buy a dvr it will be cheaper for you in the long run.
  2. hi its the same app on both. and its free.just go to itunes and look for averdigi viewer. how is it in yorkshire.
  3. like soundy says. you dont need a ground strap. just dont touch the lens. most cameras will cope with a little static. and dose not cause a problem. take a look at ptz cameras steel gears with nylon belts. ideal combo for static but causes no problem.
  4. Hi swampguinni. you dont need any software for any avermedia. it will work on any phone or smartphone/ pda/iphone. all of which have very good remote viewing. but with a pda i.e htc phones you have multi screen and you can also record. pm me for iphone app. but any other phone just dial in to your recorder.
  5. yes you can upgrade and downgrade and also add ip patch. and all this is free. as far as old . remember all avers have the same viewing software.
  6. yes bad image display and play back ghosting around image. anything with the 7.7 software has the problem. the 5116 has been out for just on 2 years and cheaper than the 5216.
  7. yes the eh5116 is a very good dvr. i have just replaced a 5216. just looking at avermedia usa and avermedia uk they sell more types of dvr here than america. http://www.avermedia.com/AVerDiGi/Product/Detail.aspx?id=168
  8. can you not loan a dvr from an engineer just to see what pictures you get. also just check to see if someone has changed the settings to PAL cameras ....it should be on NTSC cameras.
  9. avermedia is a good choice and i have over 30 units out. but please dont use the eh2516 it is new but it has some small faults and you wont be happy with it. take a look at the avermedia sa units. you have a lot more control and better images. http://www.apexcctv.com/Support/Downloads/Standalones/Avermedia/SA6000E/SA6000EManual.pdf

    Shaky video

never run cameras from the pc power. buy a 4 channel power unit. you will then get the right volts and amps for the camera.

Concept Pro VHSD 770 PCB faults

yes everyone has the same problem it also burns out the wire ribbon between the camera and the board. this has been going on for over 14 months (just dont buy them) the VHSD-810EXT is a much better camera and cheaper. ask them to swop them.

    USA Mexico border security system

Thanks For Sharing thewireguys. good video. billions of $$$$$$$ would be cheaper to give each patrol staff 1 of these. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3KrFV0-WFw&feature=player_embedded
  21. would be better buying converters from lorex and then just make up bnc patch leads. following color codings on din plugs never works out as each can be differant. LINK TO KIT, http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&sku=589906&Q=&is=REG&A=details

Lost logon & pwd for Averdigi with NV6240

hi Pierter. every avermedia now has this problem with active x. please turn the time back on your viewing pc to before september 2009 and it will then install then you can set your time on your pc back.
  23. i cannot believe i'm seeing this twist ons are for amateurs/diy who don't want to buy the crimp tools. in no way are they superior to hex or radial crimps and i havn't seen a pro use twists ons for the last 10-15 years. most twist ons i see are usually done badly as well, there is a few tricks to do them well. however they are handy if you run into odd sized cables. mind you i used to be in aerial industry and got well used to sparkies doing dodgy connections with twist ons. tweak e. you are in new zealand and i am in the uk. i have not used screw on for a few years. i use the crimp 3 piece. but in america screw on is the standard. plus screw on have been on the market alot longer than crimp and as far as for amateurs. you still need to trim screw on just the same way as crimp.
