tomcctv replied to AVS218's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
thanks, you are right they are similar...here is link to their spec sheet http://www-public.tnb.com/ps/fulltilt/index.cgi?part=SNS1P59BNC problem is they are more than 6.00 per fitting, if you can believe that....i am calling one of my distributors to see if they can get them and at what cost to me, they carry other t&b fittings so i dont see why not..... from one of the advertisers from the top of this site. http://www.bulkcctvstore.com/BNC-RG59-Compression-Connectors-p121.html -

screw on type with cover is 1000 time better than compression type even on ships. plus every othe bnc clamps inner and outer with steel or copper. compression holds it with a plastic coller. how is that better. and you dont buy bnc connectors because they LOOK professional -
Can Linux DVR on network invite virus to crash pc?
tomcctv replied to jets's topic in Computers/Networking
the problem is you have port 80 set at both tcp and udp. should give your dvr a port away from 80. as far as the porn this will be down to him or his staff and the cookies restarting because of your tcp udp set for all traffic -

Maplin - Sentient DVR. Transfer to USB Stick
tomcctv replied to pharla's topic in Digital Video Recorders
either the drive path has not been changed to usb from cd. or you need viewing software which should have come with your unit. -
most good systems will do this now. even send clips from your dvr. avermedia and also the avtech do this.

so you have added another ptz to the system and thats when you start getting the problem.??????? have you connected the new ptz camera power to the existing power supply. it sound like a power problem. add a new supply to your new ptz

tomcctv replied to AVS218's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
ebay is full of them just like vin2install says. like my earlier post. why not use screw or crimp. bnc -
yes i have seen this a few times. when you first put new H/Drives in your dvr they will format. and you cant format them again (to stop people removing footage) what you will have to do is remove all H/Drives and format them on another machine or on your pc. then reinstall them.

AverDigi dealers in the US... question:
tomcctv replied to Scruit's topic in Digital Video Recorders
i can send you as many as you like from the uk Do they autoswitch from PAL to NTSC? How much do they go for over there? My expereince from splitting my time between the US/UK is that if I pay a dollar for it here, I'll pay a pound for it in the UK, and that means everything costs between 1.5 and 2x more. For comparison I could go out today and buy an EB1304MOB for $400 / GBP250 new. How does that compare? Hi scruit. yes you are out by $10. i will pm you the link dont want to post it on here trade prices. -
you just need to plug the lens into the side of the camera. and set it up from the onboard display.
-
yes i have 3 axis cameras set up this way there is a bit of a delay but it works.

Avermedia EB1304MOB corruption issues persist
tomcctv replied to Scruit's topic in Digital Video Recorders
the HD problem was they would only run on WD green (lowpower) silly thing there is i was running one of the WD blue series which is on the hardrive compatibility list for the 1304mob. do you know what the hardrive power limits are ? i might get another of the blue drives or get the bigger version (more cache but more power hungry). the blue only has 16mb cache and the green has a 64mb cache. the green also uses a lot less power so not putting a load on your dvr. http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=773
