tomcctv replied to 3RDIGLBL's topic in Digital Video Recorders
does not sound good 3RDIGLBL. first time i have heard of anyone sending 1 back. and i will have a talk tomorrow with avermedia. if you have a problem they will be others. can i ask which unit you have. is it the lite or pro. -
Hi dmmsta. on the eb/sa dvrs the licence has ran out for active x. this is a problem avermedia is looking into. but to get passed this problem. on the pc you are connecting your dvr to change date and time to march 2009 and after you have installed your active x reset your date back.

Avermedia EH5116 Pro or EH5216 experience?
tomcctv replied to 3RDIGLBL's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi 3RDIGLBL you are doing something very wrong. let me give you a hint. STOP USING THE REMOTE CONTROL. AND INSERT A MOUSE YOU WILL SEE THE O/S CHANGE. to the same as the sa/nv/xr and then see what you think of the system. you will then find footage not to the hour but to the second. and much easyer to use. but please make shure you have the new EH and not the EB. http://www.cctvengineer.com/EH5216.pdf -
Help with my IP Cam System plzzzzzzzzzzzzz
tomcctv replied to Leo's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
adding dvr cards is something i have never done. and it sounds as this is what you need to do. if it is somthing you know how to do then you should be able to sort it. but if not take a look at the link. pure ip nvr at the same price as a card set-up. supports most ip /axis/sanyo/sony and it can have 5mp just thought this might be the best and easy way for you. plus it frees up your pc. http://www.avermedia.com/AVerDiGi/Product/Detail.aspx?id=203 -
Q-See QSNDVR4 Older model without manuals need answers pleas
tomcctv replied to derk's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi derk. why do you want to use the schedule side of your system. why not just set-up motion. that will save you h/drive space. i never understand why people use schedule set-up except for were needed. but to just safe on h/drive space does not make sence. schedule set to record at 12 till 8 place gets robbed at 9 . no footage no point having a system. -
Hi Blake. pos systems need very good back-up support so you are best dealing with companys in your own country. (i am in the uk but i buy my stuff from america) but dont by direct from korea. is it pos systems you are looking for ???

Whats a good camera to go in Club/Bar application?
tomcctv replied to EFEZY's topic in System Design
Hi EFEZY. in places were its going to be dark install good black/w cameras with ir. dont use colour ir flashing lights play about with colour. and were you can entrance/bar areas use a good colour camera without ir. night clubs and low light bars are always hard to do with so many lighting conditions. i.e ultraviolare lights strobs and many other bright colours. if you are in the uk you are quite welcome to go and see an install in london 32 camera system to see the quality. -

tomcctv replied to DeCal's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Hi dean. a very big user of the conexant capture cards or a company called hikvision. i had a dvr system that was built in poland the customer purchased the system from a company that would not help him at all. i also could not do anything with the dvr as it was locked up. hikvision sent me drivers and dvr sofware and everything ran ok. that was hikvision in the uk. here is the usa site. http://www.hikvision-usa.com/cards.html -
