Please help me control my dome camera !!!!
tomcctv replied to Stevebayb's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
hi. steve. what dvr are you using with your ptz. and what you say about after 30 secs it goes on a tour. thats what its set up to do when powered up it sets it focus and finds its start point. you will be best using the vcl controller. but you will need the factory password to set it up. hold the set button down for 10secs then enter 121. if you still have problems i can get you the manual. -

tomcctv replied to aliciac's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
hi aliciac. in the uk the best port to use is around 5550. bt/virgin/talktalk/ will keep blocking other ports. so try setting your port 5550. yes kent is far away but i am in that area at least once a month but i think changing your port will sortout your problem. -

hi. aliciac. sorry its been a while since i have been on here. how far are you from chester ??? -
like i said once focus is set it is set for day or night. you focus the lens. nothing to do with day or night opperation. so what your saying chris is after every install you have to go back at night to focus the cameras again.

hi stuhar. it wont be the focus once focus is set its set. you say you have a street light by your camera ??? this could be a problem......cameras with ir also have to turn b/w at night the street light might just be giving your camera to much light to let it turn b/w ..........so it sounds like your camera is viewing ir with colour which will show bad pic as ir and colour is no good. another problem is over power check your power supply

hi sje_123. full d1 recording 25fps on each camera is the best. and for what you are going to pay for 480tvl cameras you are best just putting a bit more money for 550tvl it will give you better recording for d1. but for a system in your budget take a look at this dvr. http://www.avermedia-usa.com/surveillance/productdetail.aspx?id=18 what part of uk are you in. ???

hi. alicia. the internet side is easy. the ip you posted is a local ip address you can only use this when connected to the router by wire or wireless that the cctv is connected. away from your home you need your service ip. go to google from the router your cctv is on and type myip. it will give you your s/p ip then try http://your ip address:80 -
2 wire i have done so many hi. scorpion. the 2 wire will not find any ip of anything you plug into it. what it will do under attached devices it will give your dvr a mac address why 2 wires do this i dont know. so you need to find your mac address in its drop down menu click on it then you have the option to give it a local ip then it is port forward as usual

hi. if you wish to add cameras at a later date then you are best with the avermedia either the sa6416e or the rack mount sa9000e. both are very good dvrs. both have face finder and both have very good pos. very good speeds over the internet and easy mobile viewer set-up. if you wish to remote dial into one of my systems to see the frame rate then please send me a email. i can send you the ip for a 16 way with standard cameras and i also have a 16 way with 6 ip cameras. http://www.cctvengineer.com/page3.html here is a small demo of a 16 -

hi steve. i am in chester. i have systems in longeaton and nottingham citycentre. i use avermedia great for mobile viewing and does lots more compered to most. take a look at my website. -
jj27 were are you located. is your system in a place were people can play with it ?? if so set it up again reboot and then take keyboard and mouse away and see how it goes. you can also check in the log and see what has been happening. it will even tell you who has been logging into your system. i know this is basic stuff but you need to find out in its human error or machine problems. stopping and starting recording sounds human error. have a look on my website under about us you will see a pic of me with andrew he is software designer for avermedia i am having a meeting with him thursday i will show him your post.
