Hello every one. I am very sorry since the question I am asking doesn't belong here but I was hoping if any one had any idea. The thing is that I have 6 CCTV set up in my office and the display at the reception displays all the CCTV footages.
The question I want to ask is can I display my company logo as a water mark on the display and further more can I display video related to the company along with the CCTV footage.
Hi. What part of the world are you in.
Displaying your full cctv system in your reception for public to view is against the law now in most countries.
But yes it is possible...... but a few things ..... company related video is only going to use more of your hard drive space
Keep things simple .... keep cctv system as a cctv system ........for company advertising in your reception just put up another screen .....a monitor that will play from a memory device such as pen or hard drive

I was wondering why my WatchNet XDDIII camera does not work with my Lorex DVR system? Also, I used Cat5E cable and a video balun with my camera but I am not sure if the 24V AC/12V DC adapter is working. I checked voltage and it read around 10 V output, so I am not sure if it is broken. A regular 12V/2A converter does not work. Do I need to use a 24V AC/12V DC adapter for the camera to work? The camera did work on a NightOwl DVR8 Light, now it does not work.
Thanks,
Rob
Hi. It looks like your camera is not compatable LVH units are CVI only not analog

Hello, New to the site and looking for adviceI am looking to install outside CCTV cameras. So they need to be HD, Wireless, Good in the dark, Motion PIR,
Ideally also no wired in base station and I want the footage recordable to cluod, base station or other location. but with no wires
I like the Arlo Pro2, but they have a base station
I like Reolink Argus 2 but they have no cloud storage access at present
Swann do some but the battery life looks poor
Any advice please?
Hi. Why choose wireless. How long do you want the system to last ?
You need local record more than cloud.
Also you need to look at the arlo cloud costs ... it is expensive
Even there cloud free ..... 7 days of cloud recording with ONLY 1gb of storage. Work it out ..... that’s less than 10 minutes of recording a day ..... pointless
24/7 recording is 69 a year for each camera each year.
Get your own system and be in control of it ...... money to 3rd party is usless

Hi. Using existing power from the lead kits will only give you problems as you have already had one fail.
The lead kits don’t last and are not good for cctv.
I would use two baluns ( without tails) and then use your existing pair for power.
Balun on 1 pair for each camera leaves you with2 pair for power

Hi. No you can’t use a Poe switch
You are best using a single pair for each camera and the rest use for power

Hi, I have just moved from a standard land line telephone / Broadband service provider to Wifi service provider. ( It means I now have 20 mbps compared to average 3-5 mbps ) I cannot access the cameras or recieve an email for an alert when away from home.Could someone advise me if its possible to achieve this with a having a Wifi service. My IP address appears to be the SP's, Probably located a the nearest transmitting mast. I have read that using a VPN service can get around this problem but need to investigate it further. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
There is no such thing as a WIFI service provider. You get WIFI from a cable or DSL provider in your home or a hotspot. A phone data plan is not WIFI. Details on your service provider would be a big help.
It's best known as wireless service provider

Well that may be, but, if by "other manufacturers" you mean "non-Chinese manufacturers": Near as I can tell: Products from them cost two to three times as much, do they not?Hi. I ment other manufacturers. But since most are built in China with the likes of hikvision and dahua ... they are more expensive from rebadged than direct from authorised dealers..... even eBay and Amazon are over priced
TVI or CVI 2.1 mp which is now old tech sell for $50 for brand name on eBay or amazon and have to wait for delivery from China
I can walk into my supplier same camera $14 and if it fails I just walk back into supplier. Cheap because old tech.
Cvi or tvi 4 or 5mp brand name $32 ...... eBay amazon $60 / 70

Hi. You would be better not using any ip cameras.
That system will take 4mp hd analog cameras ......you can only use 3mp ip camera so makes more sense to stay with 4mp

At the start of 2019, Hikvision will be introducing the new Hik-Connect App.Hikvision Europe Technical support confirms that when a smartphone goes into idle mode, the Hik-Connect App does not receive a push notification.
The reason is that the current Hik-Connect version uses a push with general priority, this kind of push will be delayed to send when phone is in idle mode or the operating system of the phone has the App in energy-efficient mode to reduce energy consumption to save. In some situations, even the WiFi of the phone is turned off if the phone is not used for some time.
In conclusion, the problem is that no push notifications come through right now, mainly because SmartPhone manufacturers have adapted their firmware in such a way to extend the battery life that third-party products are now experiencing.
The good news is that Hikvision has indicated to us that in Q1 2019 it will come with version 3.7.x which will support the Keep-Live function, reducing the delay of alarm-push. This other way is high-priority alarm push, which allows the FCM service to wake the device out of idle mode and send the push.
Even more reason not to buy hikvision.
Who in the right mind would want China government to have control of mobile devices.
iPhone allows hik even when a sleep it’s upto setting in notifications to sort your problem out.
I can’t see Apple ever letting a app that can take control of your mobile devices..... it should be upto the user not the China government
-
Yes it’s confirmed...... hence the reason they are banned for government facilities
We have been talking about hik 3rd part viewing for a few years.
If you are using hik or dahua cameras with there 2016 upwards software then look at the p2p setup and see we’re the IP address is going.
Nothing to do with port forwarding

quick question:If you install a firmware with date: 080601, can you return to firmware date: 171229 if you wanted to?
In other words can you go back to an older firmware; will it allow it? thanks.
Like I said keep it simple ..... it only takes minutes to change and always best to do it in order.

@tomcctvThis DVR has a 9-pin RS 232 port on the back.
Can we use this with a null modem cable to connect it directly to a computer for telnet access? (console access) for example if there is a need to update firmware a different way?
I noticed in your other post you mentioned that all newer DVRs don't have telnet function anymore, I haven't tried yet with this model.
Use a memory stick ... keep it simple

They are both for the same recorder just different updates
Top is December 2017 bottom is June 2018
Best doing both in that order

I've tried this (https://dahua.evosec.eu/enable-telnet-dahua/) but I got the following response from server:

Thanks for help!
Hi. No telnet into any new dahua or hik
Thanks for quick response!
Is there a way of downgrading to a version with telnet?
Any pre 2017 software will but it will not run on your machine

Ahh sorry my bad my current cameras are AHD.I assume these will not work on the qvis dvr?
Any way do you know of a good budget dvr I could buy that’ll record 1080p on 4 channels?
Have a look at the qvis 4 way Quattro 5in1
That plays all formats
-
Ok that’s pretty much how I thought it was. I will have to send it back then because I don’t think the quality will be good enoughI paid £45 delivered with no hard drive.
What’s a good budget DVR that will record in 1080p on 4 channels on analogue cameras (in an ideal world 25fps) I need to replace my floureon that keeps on coming up with hard drive errors even though I put a new one in.
Hi . If you have standard analog cameras there is nothing that will allow you to record 1080p.
You are looking at 960h as being best for analog.
Which the recorder you bought will do.
To go 1080p you will need HD analog which are either cvi tvi or AHD with a comparable recorder.
Or go for a IP camera system with nvr

This is the Installation Guide of another brand, it might help you:https://www.cctvoutlet.co.uk/blogs/news/installation-guide
And this is the video to show you how:
Hope these is helping you : )
That’s no help at all ..... it’s a dvr ip is asking about
Let’s hope your not going to spam

I’ve just won a qvis dvr on eBay and the seller says it’s 1080p revording on all channels however I think it’s only 960h after a little research.I have contacted the seller who says it’s 1080p because it’s had a video card upgrade how believable is this?
The model I-APOHDRTIO-16BB
Hi. 1080 is related to its monitor output .....it has HDMI
Its output to monitor is optimised 1080p (not true 1080p)
Recordings are only D1 and only runs on analog cameras with like you say 980h being max.
Still a good recorder .....rebadged dahua 960h range.
How much did you pay for it ?

I'm looking for some advice please.I have a Sannce DVR with 4 cameras. It has been working fine for the past 4 years but on Sunday at about 0415hrs it suddenly stopped recording on all cameras.
It's a wired (as opposed to WiFi) set up and all the camera wires come in together thru an upstairs window frame and all are still in tact. There is power to the DVR and it can playback - which is why I know when it stopped recording as I checked the playback.
However, I checked the hard drive info and it showed zero capacity but it's been on overwrite for the past 4 years. I've tried to get it to manually delete the last four days of recording (which would include the video I'd looked at)but it doesn't seem to have done it as it still won't record.
I've also rebooted the DVR.
I'd be grateful for any advice on what you think it might be and any solutions. Thank you.
Hi. Your post is a bit confusing..... before you do anything with hard drive
You say in your post you checked all camera wires..... this would have nothing to do with hard drive
Are all your cameras still showing on monitor ?
-
or you can use this totorialThat way needs software..... just entering IP address into browser is easier
-
Hi . All you need to do is input your dvrs IP address into your web browser
-
Hi the protocol are correct as it works on a bench test.I am using CAT6 two pairs for each connection
thanks
berry
Hi. Should only ever use 1 pair for data.
What camera and recorder are you using also the hd format.
Size of power supply and cable used for that
WatchNet XDDIII camera does not work with Lorex LHVB5A039352

Hi. A few years ago all what was available was analog BNC cameras.
Now we have HD analog which are megapixel systems ........ But a few versions came out .....TVI -CVI-AHD. All of which are BNC connection cameras .... The problem is a compatable DVR is needed to run these cameras.
Some DVRs will run all platforms some will only run 1 formate ....... TVI system or cvi system or AHD system. Some of the recorders will also allow old analog cameras to run .
Dahua LVH is cvi only. So will only run cvi cameras. ( that's how it was over a year ago)
