  1. I think that is your problem.

    Take out the http:// bit.

Just have: dyndns.org in the address bit

Is there a section for port separately? If so, then put the port in there.

Also, it would not be the 8082 port - as that was your Web Port if I remember.

It needs to be the Mobile 3G port. Where the default is 100.

I take you did port forward this one too right?

nsm. its not my problem i dont use them. do you have this dvr working on that APP .... no .... does that App support that dvr ....... you dont know. the people that do know are CNM hence posting the link.

and the way you are asking the op to log on is the same as using IE and like Beam00 has said this will be active x which is not supported on the iphone.

you might get it to work though the java port (mobile) this will have to be turned on on the iphone. but it will only give you refresh not live view.

  2. CNM always gets me fustrated. the back-up service is bad. many people buy CNM as a budget home dvr from the likes of maplins who is another company that will not give support.

CNM are on this forum but they will not respond to problems. they have posted a email address to service support. but be aware that the phone number they send has a charge of £45 ($80) for phone support.

at the end of the day you just want to know if CNM has a iphone app. and how to set it up. i dont see why they can not just post the info

    pm them memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=17298

  3. There are a lot of licenses schemes like by the year.

What other companies require a new license after a crash?

this has happend twice to you. why continue. buy something you have control over.

Hercules /Titan / bigbratt are others that also need a licence its not the cards its the software the bigbratt is a hikvision but still needs a licence to run on that system.

you will find that on your vista you have auto update switched on ............ never have it switched on when using it as a dvr. you will find some of your drivers have been updated and the licence with the software has seen a change.

  4. You are excused.

    Last try, my questions are:

Is this a bug or a feature?

If it is a feature, do you know any other product that require you to buy a new registration key after a PC crash?

If it is a bug, could you think about any way to circumvent it?

no its not a bug. like i posted to you earlier you have a problem with the licence. all you need to do is buy a new one.

they still are a few companys that make pc based dvrs that need a licence (by the year)

to get around this just swop your card and software to something else.

  5. Incidentally, I bought a Apollo Zeus MkII (A-Data) 500 GB HDD and internet viewing less than £170 ( A Standalone system)

It can do all the things you wanted (and there is even a downloadable remote viewer for Max OSX)

You can control the area of the screen that triggers Motion detection, and the sensitivity and motion

triggering can record any camera or combination of cameras I got it from Online Security

They also do a great range of cameras and accessories. Ebay is not always the answer but it is convenient

Also try looking at Security Tec's website for both DVRs and night vision cameras

Numb-nuts. are you getting paid to advertise all these people ???? the apollo is a bad dvr hence the price.

  6. Due to the climate where I need to mount the cameras solar and wind power is not a good solution. Maybe there is some kind of low power diesel generator solutions with a start and stop function (when the batery is charged) with a big fuel tank.

if you are talking about a camera for in the sticks were there is no power at all then you are going to have another problem i.e lighting. what is it you will be protecting with the camera.

  7. If you were wealthy enough or security considerations were strong enough,

I would not worry about the cost since you will recover that in peace-of-mind.

Have you looked at the Red Vision range of IR PTZ domes? I have and the potential

value of anything I have to lose is far outweighed by the cost, but if money were no object

I would certainly consider this range which for you and I would be impressive. I should warn

you that they start at around £1600.00 ( dependent on supplier) without mountings or

    power supply or VAT.

thats a lot of money for a ptz with fixed IR waste of money. you would be better just buying two good IR cameras than that.

  8. others post ebay links. so i should think so . if you can see your gate from your house (15m) then yes it would be best installing the camera on your house looking over your gate. when looking for IR cameras remember to add the distance you need i.e 15m plus hight 5m = 20m so look for a camera with 25-30m IR range. one camera we did use last year we connected to a intercom system. it watched over the drive until the intercom button was pressed then it would zoom in to the intercom then 20s later it would return to watching the drive.

  9. so ebay no good? saw some UK sellers, with good graphics on system pics. ok, so which wifi system is good then?

when you say camera added to intercom, do you mean the power supply of the intercom? ok didnt think of that..quite a difficult job though as its all built in to the stone pillar of gates.

Hi tops. with you just needing 4 camera system i would use a wired system. what systems have you been looking at. also a intercom system is not that hard to convert to have a camera attached .......... were are you in the uk

  10. hi, kids ringing my intercom outside my house, they hold it down for a long time, so it may break and is really a nuisance. want to get cctv, the type that runs off wifi and is viewable online.

how long does this system record for?

are the wireless ones ok at getting a good pic when its dark? should I fit a

security motion light as well, so I get a good picture.

saw these on ebay, any suggestions?

I dont understand the IP issue, do modern ones work ok with dynamic IP, Ive read online it needs to be static, but not many IPs are nowadays....

do you think I will have trouble setting one up myself, or should I get a tradesman, I got a ridiculous quote of

£1500 and gave up there, given that I can get a system of same quality for £200-£400 on ebay, do you think an electrician would be able to do all the work required to fit?

Do you think it is also a deterrent, if they know they will get filmed?

Apart from this I thought it might be a good idea for general security, although no creal crime around here, a 2 or 4 camera system would be useful. However for the one near the gate, it is not near power or not near house , how do you suggest wiring to plugpoint indoors? are these cables weather proof, do they need to go below ground? any other advice?

Hi tops. one thing i would say is stay away from ebay and maplins. just a waste of money.

as far as a static ip no you dont need one you could just set-up a ddns account. but see first if you can get a static from your isp.

if you have your intercom at your entrance then you can add a camera to your system

  11. Hi all.

I hope some one can help me how to set up Mobotix cameras with Qnap nvr.

I have Qnap VS-2008 Pro nvr, Mobotix D24-sec and Mobotix M12D-Sec-Dn 3 mpx cameras, SMCGS8P 10/100/1000 poe switch, Zyxel P-660HW-D1 adsl with 8mb/2mb connection.

I have to install demo system for customers, but have huge problems with remote view from internet.

When i use system from local pc, everything seems to be quite ok. But when i try use system with remote pc from internet, i can log in ok, after around 15 sec i will get pictures from cameras. But frame rate is so poor (i get 1 pic in 5-10 sec). Cant play recorded files (around 1 frame in 10 sec), if i try snap shot image it starts loading image, but image will never come. it just keep loading.

My customer wants recorded video has to be max 3mpx.

From where i should try to find problem?

If some one has experience Mobotix cameras with Qnap nvr ALL HELP IS MORE THAN WELLCOME!

qnap 2008 will only let you view over WAN you can only play recorded files over LAN.

  12. I know this is stupid question of the day......

I had the Q-See Model QSDS14273 8 camera system working fine for 5 days. Used the My Q-See site to obtain a static IP. It worked in the house, on outside computers and on the iPhone 4. On the 5th day it stopped working on the internet and the iPhone.

Try as I might I can't figure out how to reboot the DVR. I'm not a literate computer user and have to rely on the instructions and I can't find this instruction. I was going to turn the system off, but when I chose that option a warning message came up "Are you sure you want to do this?" so I said no.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

you might have a problem with the Q-see ddns i would change to another http://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/

to reboot just pull the plug.

  13. How should the hardware IDs or system change because of a PC crash? The first crash I know was because a power surge, a blink in the light. We have heavy snow falls making power supply unstable because of trees bending over power lines. This cannot be a valid reason for their disclaimer. My PC setup is completely finalized before registering the software.

Actually I have been offered another reset, but that cannot be a solution. PC's happen to crash. I have never heard about any other software that needs a new registration after PC crash.

And I just love the program, just what I need. I could pay many times more to just get it working every time I (re)start my PC.

there used to be a few companys that used to charge by the year i.e bigbratt. the problem with this type of software is you are going to be paying all the time for licence updates and licences. if you just have 4 cameras just change your card and software ...... to something that you own.

  14. looks like you will need to buy a new licence. do you know how much a licence is ??? there website says. ..Changes to your PC hardware or re-installing the operating system may invalidate your registration because the hardware IDs have changed and the PC is no longer recognized. Center Link International accepts no responsibility for the invalidation of registration codes due to system changes. It is highly recommended that your PC setup be completely finalized before registering the software

  15. Ok - I am using a Windows 7 PC at the moment - and the login prompt is greyed out and the cameras are greyed out - as I mentioned.

I just fired up a Windows XP machine - and even though the login prompt is greyed out - the cameras are showing ok.

So the greyed out cameras is simply a OS specific issue.

Any ideas on my LAN -> Login OK

    WAN - Login Failed.

    THanks

    Nav

Hi with being sky you have two options ask them for a static ip if your with BTsky this has a 1 off charge of £15 or you will need to set-up a ddns account no point setting your WAN till this has been done.

  16. Ok - it is the Netgear one.

I just tried the following on the DVR - ticked the box for 'Network PW Clean'.

It is slightly worse now - in that connecting via the LAN. The password box is greyed out, but still allows me to log in. But when I do - the cameras are greyed out.

I have rebooted the DVR twice - and this made no difference.

    Any advice?

in your dvr settings res/fps image quality to the lowest and see if you get images when you log back on.

  17. yea I have the DVR unit up and running on my bench right now

I am trying to do an ip scan if I can get the IP than I can use the default Panasonic software

I do see the usb connectors on the DVR I was just worried that I would potentially overwrite the video on it currently

which is why I wanted to obtain the IP as that seems the standard way of retrieving footage

if you have connected the dvr up to a router. then just go into network settings and find what the local ip is.

  18. I would like something basic.

Even if you know of something free to try.

Free is good but would buy if i have to.

I keep getting camera jobs tat i would like to be more detailed on.

there is nothing better that a pen and a pad and a digital camera. you can spend hours messing with software to give to your protential customer who will also give a copy of your hard work to another company to quote and you might not even get the work.

  19. So no one can assist eh ;(

Calling into panasonic to see if i can get some support via phone

this may help. but if you need footage off your unit quick i would connect it up to a video recorder. remember these only have small H/D and while you have it switched on you could overight the footage you need or you need to switch off auto record as soon as you can.
