  1. Hi,

Been looking for a concept pro either vlp 4526 for my house or one of the new air range from concept pro.

The only thing is that Videcon the uk seller for the range is trade only.

Is there any way of opening a trade account with them when you dont own a business? ( I am a cctv/alarm engineer to trade)

Or secondly if that is not possible are there any overseas sellers that will ship to the uk for a non trade buyer?

    thanks,

hi how many would you like ???

  2. Hi,

I am an alarm/cctv engineer from uk, been doing it foraround 10 years,

found this site whilst searching for cnb cameras

hi jordanb. which area of the uk are you from

  3. My AVC791 is silver but ive goy my kpd 674 connected now.

Ive changed port no to 80 in the dvr and tried connecting with the ip address. no problem using video viewer from my home computer, but no luck from my works computer.

ok. set everything to port 82. and on your router you are creating a service i.e CCTV with port 82. are you also listing your CCTV on the firewall rules ???

and how are you typing the address from IE.

  4. yes.

hi. there are two AVC791 1 silver 1 black. which do you have ?

try setting your ports to 80. and then see what you get. also leave out your ddns account and go to your external ip instead. this is just to see what you get up on your screen.

  5. My laptop at home connects wirelessly and the video viewer program requires a port number.

I have gone into my dvr and changed the port to 8888 and set up a rule in my router for 8887/8888.

Unfortuanately still having same problem even though log on netgear router says rule match.

while on your home network you cant use your external ip in most cases. you will have to check it from an external network.

  6. Thanks for the replies and thank you for the distinguishing ip cameras from mp cameras.

As a side note: If you can do the same thing "in theory" with more analog cameras for less money then why opt for the more expensive mp options.

hi. if you look at 1.3mp then they are not that much more in cost. axis have done a big price drop. you have the likes of dahua who have just releast 6 ip range. there 1.3mp is $80.

  7. I am stuck with a Adata Colossus DVR lite (with 4 cameras) in a house i recently bought. I can login into the DVR using remote and admin 12345 , but when I try to login via network , i write its IP address in the browser, the login page appears asking for user name and password, I have tried all sorts of combinations including admin 12345 or super and super but it never lets me in. I tried the Adata/LJD Viewing Software V4.0 but just like the starter of this thread, i cant find a way to configure the client or enter DVR's IP address etc.

Please help if any one has any suggestion.

    Kind Regards

hi you will need the remote software to view the coloussus system. you should have had it on disk when you bought the dvr

if you need a copy pm me.

  8. The car park is already covered by CCTV but the council seem reluctant to use the evidence to prosecute.

I guess I'll have to contact the councillors in relation to:

    http://www.environmentlaw.org.uk/rte.asp?id=71

Hi. what council are you covered under ??? see the problem with the UK law is if the find the joy riders the max fine they will get is £80. but the council have a much bigger cost getting them to court in the first place.

its just the stupid UK law.

your council will be DPA. and this is also about to change. but here is the copy. http://www.ico.gov.uk/upload/documents/library/data_protection/detailed_specialist_guides/ico_cctvfinal_2301.pdf

  9. Hi guys, finally got some ans.

    Below is my layman understanding of CCTV network setup;

The dvr uses PPPoE, DDNS for online access.

First, an account is created with a website where u can add host services that can be directed to ur home router ip address.

At the dvr, it is configured to recognise website.

After all the setup, to access dvr via online.

Go to host website, login with password to ur acct, access dvr.

What do u guys thing of the security of such online setups?

    Acceptable?

sounds like a 3rd party solution. i would not bother with that type of system. what is the monthly charge

  10. Thanks for the response.

I travel a fair amount for work and I think that many of these are done by "drive by eggings" so a motion detector put in the street would give many false alarms.

For a property intrusion alarm they make sense, however I don't think that will happen in this situation. I am really looking to simply upgrade the camera system.

I will check into the Optex recommendation though, hey I can always use something else to tinker with

hi. many ggod cameras out there. axis/sanyo all well priced for home use. you said some of your neighbours already have axix installed. it may be a good idea to find out what software there are using and get the same (if good) you could then help and protect each other property. you take a camera stream from them and they take a stream from your cameras. good protection if one or the other has the PC stolen.

there are some axis and others for sale in the sale section of the forum. viewtopic.php?f=22&t=20564

  11. Hi,

My property overlooks a carpark which is about 100 metres away, I'm looking for something that could be used to capture the boy racer behaviour that occurs at about 1am in the morning.

I have home Wi-Fi and though it would be good if I could hook it up to that - I was looking at the Panasonic range:

    http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/Products/Security+Solutions/Overview/294153/index.html

The carpark is fairly well lit at night if that is relevant.

if you are in the uk. then ask ask your council to install one. you cant use the footage recording a public area. unless you get registered with the DPA.

  12. Hi this is Tarun from Tass , Electronix , India. Hv lately installed two nos of nv6480e cards for recording 32 cameras. its an ASUS motherboard with two pcie slots and one graphic cards slot and 1Gb Ram memory. The problem is , the recording stops on its own frequently and does not start again till done manually. Also there is frequent ---START REC / STOP REC event in the event log.

    any suggestions????

hi could be many things. but first how do you have the H/drives set-up.

  13. we also used them a lot in the emergency services

is this not something you can work out yourself .... you have used them alot.

i use thermal. but to be honest with you .... i dont want to list makes or installs with you as it will turn into ANOTHER 15 page thread that we have been doing wrong and and we cant do this or that. and also i dont want my ideas turned into your to be posted on another forum.

  14. I didn't even notice anything about a release or availability date... is this thing actually available, or was it just a prototype being shown off?

it was a prototype at the show. but said release this summer. it also has some big claims in the news letters and spec mmmmmmmm in total 215mp. (full pam image)

  15. there are about 5-6 different power user accounts

hi not shure about log records on your dvr.

5-6 accounts -- do you know who has control ...... if not change passwords and give the new one to only the operators that should have remote log in

  16. same here hard reset on PTZ heads see what that does.

had a problem 2 years ago only on 1 ptz. did everything reset same thing. looked in event log and it showed PTZ commands from remote.

last company who installed the system had CMS commands external tour. if you are on a network for remote viewing change DVR passwords

  17. help i am a novice with pcs. i have been trying to download some footage from the hard drive on cctv system to my pc or laptop. i have tried 4 different usb memory sticks and 2 different leads. the system just keeps telling me that there is no usb device plugged in. has anyone any suggestions please.

do i have to be attatched to the internet just to do this if so i have no hope i really have no idea how to do that.

hi. what make is your DVR.

  18. Thanks for the reply Tomcctv.

Seems after fiddling with it that if I held down camera 2 for shutdown instead of camera 1 I get sent to some debug mode perhaps?

Anyway, once it's hanging in bootloader I'm able to hyperterminal in and it puts me at what looks like a DOS prompt.

I'm able to access the harddrive which for me is a first by serial cable.

Seems though that all of this is not necessary according to Dedicated Micros tech guy.

The model I have DS2rs seems to have auto detect video standard during boot up.

So my problem is solved being that I received bad info from a camera guy..

Still learned more than I did before about the unit so I figure I'm still ahead of some folks, eh?

hi. your post was to change from PAL to NTSC. going into 2 is not going to let you change that. and if you alter anyting from button 2 then its going to start to cost. you cant get free software for a DM.

did you try the settings i gave you.
