  1. Thanks for replying so soon.

I've had a Bond 1008 sat in the garage for about 7-8months from an old rip-out. Before it was decommissioned I couldnt login using the old 'admin' and the usual 1234/1111/4444, i tried 'dowshu' and 007(which was the norm when I used to install them about 3yrs ago) but never got in. I thought I'd worry about it later... 8months later!!! That is not however the problem!!

I've got a job for it tomorrow and thought I'd dig it out... only to find theres a corrupt file on the software hdd!!!

I can get as far as booting up the windows domain reconfig thingy(wont boot windows, just hangs) but then asks me for a password...

once I can get pass this password sorting the corrupt file should be straight forward.

    Any ideas

yes no problem ......... dowshu are one of the most expensive dvrs on the market and used in high security locations so i will pm you the info.

  2. Hello,

I'm looking for a 4-channel DVR, that support Mouse control, Remote view. no price range.

the most important is tobe a very user friendly GUI when we access it remotely (viewing and searching). I looked at AverMedia but their interface is very hard to use when you are online.

    any ideas will be helpful.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Hi maxnca. you must have been looking at an old avermedia. they all have the same GUI on live screen as over the internet. you have 3 ways of remote viewing with the avers ..... webveiwer / remote console veiwer / imatrix viewer. webviewer is only for quick viewing i.e internet cafe or on a pc that you dont use all the time. remote console is the same GUI as the dvr screen

  3. Hi Kenny. i think this is what you are looking for. took sometime to find it. software.

Those are Hikvision cards, the one Kenny pictured above seems to be nothing like those...

the card is a kane computing and they use the hik software. this is the same card kenny has. i think this is his best bet on getting the card working. only takes an email.

  4. I don't think of myself as being ripped off when I bought this card. I knew it may not work, I may not be able to find the software or the drivers and the seller made no promises or anything of the sort it was sold as is and I understood this. I rolled the dice and took a chance(although it didn't work out)and the 15 bucks didn't break me. What upsets me is guys make smart comments when someone is looking for help. I am on a couple forums and there are guys like this on all of them. That's why I hate to post because I don't want to get kicked off any of the forums I am on when I can't control my fingertips at the key board.

I tend to buy from Apexcctv(1 camera and Avermedia card) and Coastal Video Security(CNB Camera and lense).

I have bought plenty of stuff from ebay, I am an educated buyer and I never spend more than 20 bucks if I am not sure of the product. I am not naive.

    Anyways enough is enough.

  5. There is soooo much junk on ebay, I won't even go there unless I know what I am looking for (and there is still the risk is it fake). What I am looking for is a camera I can incorporate into an outdoor mount on a light pole or stone/brick "monument" acting as a light pole. I can create a pretty decent protected zone inside so the only thing that would be exposed would be the lens, so I am looking for something that can handle that sort of exposure and is decent. Most searches I do end up with a lot of ebay junk, and I don't see much from the big CCTV camera outfits.

Does anyone have suggestions for sources of GOOD quality cameras that are small enough to hide? I'm willing to go to some effort to do the hiding, so it doesn't need to be Mission Impossible, but I'm more concerned with finding quality in a small package. I could go IP or analog. MP would be a plus, but I'm not optimistic that can be found in this package.

    Thanks for your time!

  6. Not sure I have the right technical word, but I'm having an issue with brightness balance.

Long story short, I found an excellent tutorial online that goes through a complete security / surveillance installation start to finish; it was pretty in-depth at 50 or so pages, but in any case, the installer put a system in a church and documented the whole thing.

I was inspired and ended up buying that system for my home and one more for my own church but... The camera in the worship center looks great at "normal lighting" but on a Sunday morning when all the stage lights are on it pretty much is one big white blob... I'm using one of the On-Q bullet cameras (excellent quality but does not handle the dynamic lighting in that room well).

How does one handle stage lighting? I'm guessing that my issue is that there is so much "darker area" around the edge it is just not adjusting properly - is there a better camera to recommend?

The DVR is an aposonic R22 if that makes any difference.

Hi BC so you have had this problem for over a year why is it you could not get tech support to help you after all this time.

  7. Guys -is this an applicable solution in our case - if so, what do I need?

I have had a bit of a brainstorm today, which i'm going to run with for the next few weeks. I'm going to fit new nets, but lace them with pull cord activated personal alarms - i'm also trying to find if some sort of exploding dye/paint canisters exist (?). I'll do this on a Friday evening, so casual play isn't a factor, and i've squared it with my bosses that I can sleep on site, in one of the boarding houses, which has a 360 degree field of vision over our playing fields, and 2 fire escapes for a quick pursuit. Once those alarms go off, i'll be out there like a shot, with a torch and two very protective dogs in tow...i'll also call the police, who to be fair, have a very good response time over here.

Hi mike am just looking at keeps trail camera to see if i can fitt the gsm the camera give good night vision and if we can add the GSM alarm would make it a good little system.

like the idea of paint or dye. but i think you will be made to pay for damage to clothes.

spray your nets with smart water will be better.

  8. That is a good place to start. Thanks. I build gaming computers for a hobby so will look to build the DVR. I will contact GeoVision today and see what fits my needs. I have spare computer parts everywhere. Do you have a specific seller who people on the forum had success with? I see that CNB is sold on Ebay and Amazon so I am prepared to buy today. Thanks so much for your help. You have saved me countless hours. Also the RAB Stealth 360 is mounted in the top left corner of the front of my house and the top right in the rear. This area is approx. 24-28 ft off the ground. Any thoughts on mounting the cameras.....opposite side of lights.....below the lights.....my understanding is that 25 ft off the ground may me too much. Thanks again.....

    Best,

    Dan

Hi Dan contacting geo to buy a cars is not a problem . its getting support and downloads you will have problems with. i would look at the avermedia nv card range .... does alot more than geo.

if you are installing your own lights then the CNB VCM24VD is not a bad camera.

  9. Would really depend upon the resolution quality of the model you chose to go for.

Obviously, whether you get a good "face on" image of the culprit too, especially at night time when your footage would be black and white.

Hi Keeps how hard would it be to fit GSM to your trail camera.

    Signalling over GSM voice call:

SMS and up to 6 seconds of voice recording for each input

SMS sent as 'Alarm1' or 'Alarm2' followed by a voice call to play back the pre-recorded message.

Transferring control panel's PGM output contact to monitoring station in Contact ID format

Calling 4 telephone numbers (personal call) and sending SMS messages

    Cost effective solution

    GSM remote control:

Control of output through telephone call, free of charge telephone number recognition
