    Need Some Help

Dear system admin Run a network cable to it give it an address link to and you have the software. If this is not possible goto the dvr take a picture of what you see on the monitor with a digital camera post it on this site we will tell you who makes the dvr and where to find the software or goto accounting see who was paid to put the unit in call them they have the software you need.
  2. Are you trying to look at them from inside the network or outside the network from the internet. No reason to change ports if you are inside the network just network IP address so the do not have the same address.

    Pelco DX7000

Thanks Rory I just did not notice a spot in the software to setup for more storage. I will have to get it out fire it up and play with it.
  6. I have traded for a Pelco DX7016-120. This is a 16 channel 120 gig drive DVR has anyone added more harddrives to one of these DVR's. I have not looked into it but would like to add more drive space to this DVR. Just need to know if it has been done outside the Pelco plant.

    Pick a card..

Well 1st things 1st a DVR has only one purpose RECORD VIDEO. It is too much strain to use the computer as an office machine and DVR at the same time. You need to doo one or the other not both. You can use a KVM to run 2 towers from one keyboard one mouse and one monitor and switch back and forth between the two.
  8. Sorry I have never done one that way. We always connect through the internet broadband (dsl cable or wireless). Sorry I do not have a answer for you.
  9. What you are trying to do is not what it is ment to do. It only calls like a central station monitoring station to show up on screen when the marked event is triggered. “Dial Alarmâ€

    Need advice on replacing DVRs

Max to each his own but we have just under 100 pc based systems that are very stable. We go to the manufactor classes weset them up and give the end user veiw search copy print rights and they run very stable if left alone (no changes to the OS no changes to the DVR software) Theys are in banks scool systems ect.
  11. Call your eyemax dealer they will provide you with one. This has happened due to the fact that people were buying clone cards and using their software.
  12. What version is the I-VIEW software.
  13. Vaughan sorry but I have not seen a dvr that has that option. What I have seen you can make the cam popup on the screne of the dvr, send an e-mail when tripped, make a sound file play when tripped. Maybe one of the others can chime in and tell us more.
  14. Rory I have a new tech that works with us and got a call from a new customer he said it has bad hum bars 60 cycle hum. The DVR is in one building with 6 cams in the building and 6 cams in the building next door the hum bars are on all 12 cams and unplugging the 6 cams in either building does not remove the bars from the 6 left working. The DVR and 6 cams are powered in one building while the other 6 cams are powered in the building. Video is sent to the DVR from building 2 via cat 5 that is rated for outdoor use and overhead. I have been to the site yet just talked to the tech on the phone as what to try. Looks like I will be making the 95 mile trip to the site. Also DVR is a eyemax 9120. What else would you try. Buddy

    Rory need advise

No more calls we have a winner. Rory it turned out to be a lightning strike found it on the DVR replaced the whole unit with a new 9120 and all the problems went away. Also all cams in the building with DVR was on coax with built in power leads 12 volts the cams in the 2nd building came to the DVR on cat5. aht was funny was after the strike hum bars started showing up at about 2 mins and each couple of days it spread to a differant cam channel. Thanks for all the help.

    Can you invert images?

And the ansewr to question 2 is no I would not try to turn the inside of the camera. Just loosen the mount and roll the camera 180 degrees.

    PTZ eBay

Most good dvr's come with ptz control and have the pelco D protocals built in. We need a little more info. 1. What type ptz are you trying to control? 2. What type dvr are you using? 3. What version dvr software are you using?

    Casino project

With it being what it is I would not use the cheap stuff. I would use PELCO or GE ptz and cams and anygood dvr that uses pelco D protocals. Yes I know but they will want name brand. Plus you do not want to have to goto the site for little problems plus they should pay good and not shy away from good equipment. Also look to see with company will back you up in court over the recorded video.
  19. I have used both twist on and crimp on have not had the chance to try compression fittings but I have the compression tool from a job with RG6 and f connectors. We did a job for a friend TV, Network, Home Security and I had to make up the outside connection so there was no choice on what type connector to use.
  20. We have done these type systems before. You can remove the inside panel place a piece of wood on inside and mount the mount from the outside. Works good plus you have to hide your wire anyway so no big deal.

    Rory need advise

Rory they might be NVT I have not been to the site and we were called to service equipment we did not install. The owner just could not get the installer to fix the problem or service the equipment and we are getting more and more calls from word of mouth. We have gone in and fixed problems left by FLY BY NIGHT people selling out of the trunk of their car. Like I said it is 90 miles and I have not been to the site yet just talking to one of our new tech's on the phone. I will get more info from him. Like I said I had him unplug the video feeds and power for each building and the problem is still there with the other building removed from the system. I am begining to think I am looking at a lighting strike at the site. cirvine
